Whoo, absolutely beautiful camerawork! The snow leopards have been my favorite so far. Imagine the patience it takes to capture footage like that! I’m looking forward to the rest of them.

Happy Birthday Melody! Hope that you have some time to relax, enjoy, and reflect!

Seems like a lot of people would rather use somebody else’s photos, or a stock photo, than take a picture of their own and go through uploading it. A lot of people also have pretty crappy cameras. I see this a lot with the dinosaur toys I search for! But sellers who aren’t collectors themselves tend not to realize that we look for subtle things like lighter or darker colors. Good catch with that auction!

I was wondering about those hatching dragons myself, I’ve never seen that hidden keyword stuff before. Clever, sure, but completely understandable why ebay wouldn’t allow it. Good to know!

Wow, now these are pretty bad. The smaller trio seem to mimic the pose of some Windstones pretty well, but the single one is definitely cast from a young dragon body. Maybe with the head of a male stuck on there? Ick.

What a shame. I ran across the same situation yesterday with another site. I e-mailed them and the site was so out of date, the current staff didn’t really know what I was talking about! Google can lead you to some dead ends sometimes 😛 But yeah, if people are trying to run a business, you’d think they could keep their stock a little more up to date. *shrugs*

I googled through and got two stores that have your emperor! Hopefully their prices and stock are up to date, and I’m not getting your hopes up! Good luck in landing him.

Wow, poor dragons and poor you! I think we all have horror stories when it comes to shipping. Several years back, I myself was lucky enough to land a peacock mama, hatching emperor, empress, and kinglet. I was absolutely thrilled until I opened the box to find the emperor end empress beheaded, and the mama cracked right in half! The seller was understanding and gave me a refund for the damaged ones, and I hope your seller is wise enough to do the same. I didn’t plan on reselling my dragons anyway, so I’ve restored them pretty nicely.
It’s a shame that even notes from us buyers, asking to PLEASE pack the critters carefully, so often go unnoticed or half-arsed by sellers. Best of luck in getting this resolved. Even if the seller refunds your money, you can’t pay back that kind of heartbreak and anger 🙁

Thanks Nambroth! With the interference being picked up, the brown doesn’t show up very strongly. So were only the older browns given this interference color? The new browns don’t seem to have any. Thanks again!

Here are some of the pics that I have, from few individuals, all of which seem to display different degrees of yellow-to-red shading. I don’t think they’re browns, there seems to be pink in them. They also seem to have darker blue eyes than the browm emperors I’ve seen. Here are two of the more red ones, I wish I would have had the money for them when I saw them once upon a time on ebay 🙁
And there’s the ‘gold-orange’ too. He looks like he’s wearing armor plating!
The gold might be a repaint by the owner, since I’ve only seen it once. Let me know what you guys think!

Hello! Over the years I’ve saved a lot of pictures of Windstone pieces from ebay and such places. Roaming through my folders, I came across a few emperor dragons painted in mostly orange and red, with sky blue eyes and jewels. I also have a picture of a darker version of this paint scheme with golden belly, shoulder, and arm scales. I was curious about this coloration as it’s very striking.
When were these big fellas made, and were there ever plans for the rest of the dragon family in this color? Thanks!

Oooh, that sounds like a plan to me!

Maybe a wiki-style site? It would be interesting to have all of us collectors contribute to some kind of database. I don’t think even the most obsessed of us have enough info to pull something like that together on our own 🙂

Hello all! With everything I’ve been reading about old vs. newer paint variations, blue vs. peacock, jade vs. emerald, etc. etc., I was wondering if anyone has a photo gallery out there which details how to define certain color variations of Windstone pieces. It’d be great to work up some sort of color ‘timeline’, where we could look up a color scheme to find out when it was made. Or even add some info from the Windstone folks as to why certain color schemes were altered. Like an expanded version of the Astral Castle encyclopedia.
Just an idea I wanted to bounce around! *returns to hunting on ebay…*

I’m glad so many people are keeping their ears perked about these things. I hope that legal action can be taken, with the fact that most of these are being sold overseas. It’s pretty obvious that some of these have been cast directly from Windstone dragons, so no argument on copyright infringement there.
