I’ve been waiting to approve the classified ads that are in our “incomplete” and “ads awaiting approval” queues because I thought it would be helpful to the authors of the classifieds plugin as they try to figure out why ads are ending up there rather than just getting published right away. However, I’m not getting much response from them, so I’m going to go ahead and enable those ads. If any of them are ads that you actually DON’T want published, please contact me and I will disable them, or you can disable them yourself, but let me know which ones they are so I don’t re-publish them. Thanks.
I lost most of my old pm’s,and I’d really like them back. In your status, you said it seemed to be people who have had more thsn one email address. But I have always used the same address.
Another thing is that in some of the conversations, only the ones sent by me remain.Sorry about your PMs. I’m still trying to sort out why some got transferred and others didn’t. If you notice any pattern to it (for example your PMs from certain users didn’t make it, or messages before a certain date) please let me know. That would really help us troubleshoot this. I also have the guys who migrated the data for us looking into it. I’m confident we’ll get it fixed, I just don’t know how soon. If you can give me examples of the ones where only your replies are there, that would also be helpful. Thanks.
One more thing: there are 11 classifieds that are sitting in the “incomplete” list, waiting for approval. If you have submitted one of these ads and are desperate to have it published, let me know (and tell me which one it is). Otherwise, I would like to wait a little bit (maybe a day) so that the guys who are trying to troubleshoot this can have some clues to go on. Thanks.

Some people have had trouble resetting their passwords. That issue has been resolved now. Sorry for the inconvenience. Please let me know if you have any further issues with passwords.
Can someone please enable all my classified ads? I don’t know how to get them to work.

So, I made a large post with my curled dragons for sale 3 days ago. It said i needed a verification email. Until i verified my email the add would remain disabled but i could view it. Now the add is completely gone and I still never received a verification email. I also had several old adds that were disbaled when the new website came up and still have no way to make them active. Please can someone help me out? I see other people getting to post adds and I dont understand why none of mine have been resolved?
Apologies Betrluk1. The problem (in the short run) is that a bunch of ads are going into a couple of different queues (“ads awaiting approval” or “verification”) that they shouldn’t. I’ve got the people who wrote the code for this classified plugin looking into it, but in the meantime it’s very difficult for us to know which ads in the queue should be enabled and which should not be. I will enable all your ads that are queued right now, so if there are any that you DON’T want enabled, please let me know (or you can disable them yourself). Sorry for the trouble.
I’m concerned about my PMs. None of them are showing up-from the olden days nor a new one I sent. IDK if the person replied because there’s no record of me sending the message an I don’t see an “outbox” sort of thing.

I’m wondering if maybe you had another account at some point (or a different forum name) and maybe your PMs got attached to that. Did you ever use a different name?
Several people have asked about zooming in on their mobile devices. Normally, responsive websites (sites that adjust the layout to display well on mobile devices) do not have pinch-to-zoom functionality. However, since some Windstone users seem to use that feature a lot, I have enabled it for now. It doesn’t work very well when viewing lightbox images (images that open in a separate window), but for photos that are part of a page/post it seems to be fine.
another thing, I don’t see a button to quote anymore…will that be coming back?

Those ads were in fact in our “ads awaiting approval” queue. They were showing as expired. I renewed them. I’ve been inquiring of the bbPress support people about this issue, but haven’t gotten an answer yet. There must be a way to let users renew ads without having to get them approved every time. I’ll keep you posted.

Thanks for pointing that out. I had turned on “reply threading (nesting)” not realizing that that option also disables pagination, so all replies are loaded on a single page. It’s a nice feature, but with some of the larger topics (hundreds of replies) it’s prohibitively slow. So I turned it back off. The makers of the forum plugin (called bbPress) are working on a way of having nested replies and pagination at the same time.
Mike, I’m afraid that going back to the old format is not an option, though we are trying to make the new system as similar to it as we can. The entire site was migrated from our old platform (Drupal) to the new one (WordPress), and WordPress has its own modules (called plugins) for every site feature (forum, classifieds, galleries, PMs, etc.). In order to make the transition as easy as possible for everyone, we are trying to replicate the look and workflow of the old system as much as we can, but it won’t be exactly the same. In the long run it will be better, and will have some nice features that the old site did not have (though that may be hard to believe at the moment). During this transition, the person who had been in charge of the classifieds for years (and would have been setting up this new system) left Windstone, so that’s an extra challenge. Hang in there, it will all get sorted out soon.
