Landipan, I would also love it if Melody would do a pebble Laying Kirin like the one in the card. It would be adorable!
Looking for:
"COSMIC SHIFT DRAGONS and KI-RINS" and the "OCTOPUS TANUKI TEST PAINT #1"I’ve been collecting Breyers for the last 38 years. My first set was my 8 year birthday gift from my mom. It still means the world to me as I know just how long and hard she had to work to be able to afford the set. It is the Black Beauty set and I still have them all in mint condition. The ones that mean the most are the ones that were gifts. My collection isn’t big as I am picky but it does include a few OOAK custom painted ones and some Porcelain ones. I cant really say I have an outright favorite. For me as long as the sculpt is well done and has some “life and movement to it” then its probably a favorite.
The photos also have some of my Cheval Pony collection and a few ceramic ones that I painted as I just tend to place items where I think they look good. Most of my Breyers are on shelves above my windows.

I’m not sure yet if I will sell her or not. I love her, at the same time I am running out of room to display things!

"COSMIC SHIFT DRAGONS and KI-RINS" and the "OCTOPUS TANUKI TEST PAINT #1"Thank you everyone! I am really happy with how she turned out.
I’m not sure how much sculpting I will be doing in the future but it was a fun learning process. I do remember liking to play with play dough 40 years ago lol.
I wish the video had turned out better to show the sparkle on her but I think it was to bright outside as the video is pretty washed out. That and my cell phone and I disagree on what brightness to do things at.
Zexious, It took me just over a month to complete. That includes the Raven sculpt, which was a few days of you tube tutorials on using the clay properly and experimentation.
Some of the PYO sculpts have pre drilled holes so that you can hang a crystal or bead of some sort for them to hold. To attach the raven, when I made the it, I inserted a roughly pre shaped wire into the raven before baking. Once that, the baking and painting was done I finished shaping the wire how I needed it. Then wrapped the wire in several pieces of nylon thread and threaded half of the threads thru the top of the hole along with the wire. Then I took the other half of the threads over the back of the dragons paw and tied them to the ones threaded thru the hole. The raven was still a bit looser than I liked though so I did lightly wedge in a small piece of wood skewer to keep everything from wobbling.

As for plans. I found a TV series called Canada’s Worst Handyman and ended up marathon watching a couple of seasons of that as I did some finish work on The PYO Oriental dragon I am working on.

Yes, It was a horrible situation. I’ve been around, had, trained and worked with or on horses my entire life. I was also a vet tech working with large and small animals for years. I kept telling the vets it was more than colic but they wouldn’t listen to me. It was incredibly frustrating to know it wasn’t just colic, seeing him getting weaker and weaker and to keep getting told that I didn’t know what I was talking about. We were giving him shots for his pain but couldn’t even stop walking him long enough to give him the shots or down he went. So I learned how to give shots on a walking horse.
I still blame myself for a lot of the pain he went through as I should have done what Rylorien did and had him put down a lot sooner. But I was really hoping the vets were right and I was wrong. Since then I have always followed my gut instinct when it comes to my animals. It was a hard lesson but one I have never forgotten.
The memories of him are all mostly good now and make me smile. His name was Nevada and he was a complete goofball, always the one out pulling pranks on the other horses to see if he could get them to run after him. Was hilarious to see him slowly sneak up on another horse, reach out and pull its mane or tail then give them this completely “What?? I didn’t do it! I’m innocent!” look then do it again as soon as he thought they weren’t paying any attention. lol
