We got orientals as prizes because I needed two similar prizes for the two categories. 🙂 (I’ve got access to a little pool of “not quite ebay worthy” things to use as prizes).
As for the images, I got two line arts from Melody (both dragons) and picked one by way of a super fast, super informal poll on which one was preferred. LOL
I’d LOVE to have a griffin prize some day! We’ve done unicorns, kirins, dragons, and pebbles – we need some griffins!
Oh! Orientals is good, they’re my favorites of the dragons. Second them are the curlies and coileds. 🙂
S.W.E.E.T.
This is gonna be fun.
Too bad no unicorns or griffins (my preferences) but still awesome.
Can’t wait until the momma comes out too. I’m going to paint them in ‘excavator’ patina. I can’t decide between which old look I like best, so I’m going to combine elements of some of my favorite artifacts like old ivory and Tang dynasty glaze. It’ll either be really cool, or really tacky looking, we’ll see!
Gah, these guys are adorable. Waiting is hard.
Wow, love seeing the different families (and makes me jealous I wasn’t around for the youngs…lol) That okapi family is particularly impressive. Also like all those blue eyed appys together.
Can’t wait until the momma comes out. Missed all the pups (but probably would have waited to order them together anyway…)
Wasn’t that griffin amazing??? I went over my “male griffin” budget in bidding for him….but lost him. I, too, am happy he went for the price–he was worth it. Just stunning. And, I like the cat colors!!! Maybe he went to a forum member and we will see more pictures…..(fingers crossed)
…Lol, I went over my -anything- budget and still knew I didn’t have a chance, but I agree–I hope a forum member won him so we can see more of him 🙂
Oh man, I knew I didn’t stand a chance of getting that violet hawk griffin but I had to show him some love anyway. I think that’s my favorite thing I’ve ever seen go up on ebay. I’m usually more for natural colors but that one just blew me away. Glad to see he went for the price he did, actually, even though it wasn’t me (lol, not by a long shot) Nice job Melody!
I know we -just- got a new griffin color with ocelot (I -love- mine) but I can’t help but maybe put in a squeak for something similar to that magnificent violet hawk coloration…like maybe in the future when griffins are ready to have another color again…?
So, consider this thread half squeak and half just wanting to tell you how in awe I was of that piece. Incredible. Really, just…wow.
Hate to be the bumper of such an old thread, but I figured I’d see if anyone else had thought this before me, before I created a new thread altogether. I just saw the reindeer votive on facebook, and would like to add my voice to this thread. I collect Christmas deer stuff (lol, Santa, not so much) and I really liked this one a lot.
so …squeak 🙂
The ivory coloring has really been getting more and more tempting, I really liked the curly, and it looks nice and old on the momma kirin.
Those are some neat pictures, I can imagine the nervousness in taking them though–that’s really close! Sad to hear about the house too, but would’ve been far more sad if it had been a fighter instead.
Ah, it’s good to see a gothic! They’ve always been my favorite 🙂
Hmmm… All those Mother Pegasi in the photo with the flat fuzzies – what colour will they be? and, I think I saw some babies too?
I am trying to work out a new color for the Pegasi. I have tried palomino, now I am trying some in Przewalski’s color. Both are pretty, and both have problems.
I kind of already squeaked for this in the thread about the new pegasi, but classic champagne or silver dapple would be really pretty 🙂
I’d love to see them in classic champagne or mulberry grey (which, is a color invented by model repainters, I’m pretty sure, but still pretty)
Silver dapple would also be really neat.
Dark Ivory #2 on Gothics as a production color, or…an aged netsuke finish or something.
PYO Gothic Uni
Baroque gold – white version as a production color for hoofies? even if not with the swirlies.
Natural colored griffins – leopard, serval, hawk eagle…any really, they’re all fantastic. EDIT: OCELOT! Check!
Natural colors pebble fox/es
A saber-toothed feline? There were lots more than just smilodon, and I think a windstone one would be amazing. Also, I think this is like, my fifth time editing this list.
a Windstone Chess set would be epic. A lot of work, but awesome nevertheless.
Also, I’d like to add squeak for the copper rockfish color–I’m not a huge goer for dragons, but a cioled or curly would -seriously- tempt me with that coloration.EDIT: make that sixth.
