In addition to the above I love Melody’s dragons because they are not angry looking or spewing fire, etc. A lot of the dragons out there are, well, nasty looking for want of a better word. I grew up reading Anne McCaffrey where dragons were partners not adversaries and that’s how I view dragons. I don’t particularly like the St. George type of dragon stories so Melody’s look like how I picture dragons.
That is very true. That is why I love Melody’s dragons and don’t have any other type around my house.
I have to second that as well. Most other dragons look like they’ve been over-doing the steroids, you know?
O.o
What did they do to those poor trumpets?
Awwww….
But cookies are good. *smiles* You’re awesome anyhow.
She more or less has. The PYO dragons have a certain strong resemblance to the SK.

She’s NEVER knocked over a Windstone before, she totally ignores them. *sighs* I just spent hours putting him together, because he was broken, and then, when he’s finally done, the stupid cat tips him over and I get to start all over again, with more pieces than before!
I think the thing is that those who buy the candlelamps buy them because they love cats/wolves/whatevers.
Those who buy the dragons and unicorns are more likely to buy them because they love Windstones. And thus are also more likely to turn up here.
I imagine that many folks who get a cat candlelamp don’t even notice that it says “Windstone Editions” on the bottom.

Anyone else have older pieces? Have they developed “freckles” – small spots of paint loss that can’t be attributed to knocking something into the piece? My black griffin has a few on top of his head.
They call those little specks of missing paint fleabites too.
As far as color aging, I’ve got a brown mother right here for repairs. Her gold paint is pretty well corroded, it gets weird when it’s old, but the brown color is still every bit as bright as the brown fledgeling made just a few months ago. So I don’t think the colors fade, the batches have just changed a bit over the years, I think.
My peacock fledgeling is that color. (It’s the only thing I have in normal peacock, though I have a peacock oriental, but that’s not actually the same color at all, it’s just blue.)
I want a peacock spectral! Seeing Ruffian’s in person really got me liking them. But I certainly don’t have $130 for one. So sad.
That photo is a little lighter than any I’ve ever seen, but as far as the richness of the colors, is about right. The newer peacocks are definitely more showy than the older ones.
Money stolen can hurt, but losing art…. I had my entire portfolio stolen once. I’d had an art presentation in class, so not only did I have my physical portfolio of originals in my backpack, I had the zip disk with the scans of them all there as well. It was the only day in my ENTIRE LIFE that the portfolio and the scanned backup had been in the same bag, and that was, of course, the day said bag got stolen.
Still pissed off about that. Especially as whoever stole it got NOTHING of value save the art, and it’s not like they could have gotten any money selling that.
There’s at least a couple of Wiis on ebay just now, and they’re not going as ridiculously high as the PS3s are. Perhaps worth looking into?
She finally got back to me. She’ll be mailing it, she says, on the 20th.
I’m a little bit, “er………. okay, if you say so” here.
I bought it on the 8th, she mails it on the 20th? WTF?
But at least it will hopefully actually get sent.
Oh man, that sucks. And I love the lion ki-rin too!
We’ll all keep our eyes peeled, though it’s highly unlikely, sadly, that the theives know what it is they’ve stolen.
Oh heavens…. I’m an IRC (internet relay chat) junkie. I have three networks and well over a dozen chanels going most of the time.
I actually use Trillian, not AIM. *shrugs* But setting up AIM does tend to be easier than getting Trillian to go.
