People sell “spirits” and “haunted” stuff on ebay all the time. Just do a search for “haunted” and you get all sorts of whacked-out results.
There’s this fellow who had a website about how to sell things on ebay, and he did a little demonstration, that proves you can sell anything.
He sold dirt.
He got $20 or so for it! Just a jar of dirt from his backyard.

Which is silly, given that the sitting spectral in peacock was obviously available from the factory until just now.
Who did you talk to? There is a guy with a beard that is usually there. He really doesn’t know, nor care about Windstones that much (but thinks he does). Then there is a woman with brown hair who actually does the ordering from the factory and she is very knowledgable and gives great customer service. I would only do business with her, if I knew when she worked.
She’s the one I talked to, and she was very nice. (I have spoken to the guy before, he obviously didn’t care one bit.)
Anyhow, she was nice, and she knew a fair number of things, but she INSISTED that the sitting spectrals had been retired for ages, and she also INSISTED that Windstone hadn’t chosen the next new color yet, that they had no idea what it was going to be. And I’m all… “Er, no it’s this emerald-peacock thing, they’re just deciding on a name, you see,” and she kept telling me that no, they hadn’t decided on the new color at all.
It wasn’t really that bad, or anything, it was just kind of annoying to be told I didn’t know what I was talking about, when I’m pretty sure I do.
Gah. The people at my local place don’t know what they’re talking about, and they act like they do! They told me ALL of the sitting spectrals, peacock included, were retired when the rising spectral came out.

I’m a Scrooge. Bah Humbug.
Well, not really. I just get VERY annoyed at the stupid, bad, pop singer Christmas music that takes over the radio. There are hundreds of amazingly good Christmas songs for choir, traditional and new, and every single one of them so much better than some wanna-be wailing their version of Little Drummer Boy, but they NEVER play the real Christmas music, just the Britney Spears mangled version. Ugh.
Other than that, I love Christmas! Candy and food and presents and all that stuff, love it! And I am fairly religious, the Christmas service is always a rather good one, (usually involving some of that good Christmas music I don’t get to hear anywhere else during the season.)
And the past several years I’ve been involved in performing Handel’s Messiah, speaking of music. That is one of the greatest peices of music ever written, and I love singing it! Though I won’t be doing it this year, sadly. Just having moved here, I don’t have my musical connections anymore, and I haven’t heard of any local performances.
I am hooked up with all kinds of communications! Though I usually have my MSN set to “away” because I’m sewing at the computer and kinda busy.
Yeah, the real stone is a very light color, but it’s come to mean “blue green” and I’ve seen it applied to a lot of things that aren’t actually the shade of the mineral. The turquoise fur fabric I have in stock right now, for example, is DARK greenish blue.
Shocking!
Are those kinds of pictures allowed on here?
You people are loonies.

No, my favorite authors tend to sci-fi/fantasy. Right now I’m on a John Ringo/David Weber/Eric Flint kick, but have Mercedes Lackey, Terry Goodkind, Brian Jacques, L.E. Modesitt, Elizabeth Moon, etc, etc in my library.
You have good taste! I own most everything David Weber has ever done. And Ringo and Flint are good too. Baen authors in general are awesome.
(I never used to care who published a book, just who wrote it, but Baen has changed that for me. They are the MOST AWESOME publishing company ever! If I ever do decide to try and actually publish my books, I’d submit them to Baen first.)
but what would make it a spectral if it had flat eyes? That’s the point of the spectrals, isn’t it?
Also, speaking of spectrals, the gal at the Briar Shop told me the sitting spectral in peacock has been retired for like a year. That’s not right, is it? Weren’t they only retired with the rest of the peacock stuff just this month? I went in there to get one, and they were all out! So I got a ruby oriental sun dragon instead.
Bluegreen sounds fine to me. We don’t need a romantic name. Name your individual dragons “The Aurora family” if you like when you get them. “Here’s Mr. Aurora, and here’s Mrs. Aurora, and Emperor Aurora, and…” *grin*
For the name of the COLOR, not the name of the dragons, I say bluegreen, or turquoise, or some other simple, plain color name is best.
(And I should hope there’s some green in these things, as the long-version name is hybrid EMERALD peacock. What’s the “emerald” doing on that if they’re not nice and green?)
Nye said it better than I could.
You or I may love these peculiar color names, and think that they’re beautiful. But the only color I see on there that would make a normal person think of something that’s ANYTHING like how these actually look is Turquoise. So that’s what I voted for.
I was in Belfast (in Ireland) a few years ago and it snowed pretty heavily, like eight inches or so, and the whole city just shut down. The buses weren’t running any of the normal routes, because they couldn’t safely drive up or down hills, and nobody else knew how to drive in the snow. There’s not a snowplow or a set of tire chains on the entire island, so everything just stopped until it melted.
Oh my gosh! Sabertooth CUBS! They would be so cute! I would so buy them!
Yeah….
I want a male gryphon! And I’m trying to decide what color to get him in. I’ll probably just end up getting the new color. But it’s tempting to get one of the old ones. But I’ll get the female and chicks in “old” colors I think. I don’t do the matching family thing. I like variety. All my dragons are all different colors, guess my griffins will be too.
