is that the darker palomino one with white hair right at the front of the photo of all of them? I didn’t buy any, I’m just curious. I know a few other forum members were asking about the same one.
Aww these are so cute!
dunreining, that’s such an awesome coincidence that you got 2 that match your two youngs! Their names are so cute as well. And I LOVE that the bay one has two different coloured eyes… squee that is just too cute! I just love seeing photos of these guys 😀
His final was only like $450, I think it’s just that everyone thought he was hideous that makes that surprising
She put up a journal about pricing for these guys I think. You can see it here: http://woodsplitterlee.deviantart.com/journal/
I bought my guy off ebay, and was a bit hesitant because she was young and I wasn’t too sure about how things would go, but she’s really professional and good at the “business” side of things too. It’s always great to find artists who are both talented AND professional! 🙂
Is it a surprise as in YOU also don’t know what it is, or are you just keeping me out of the loop? I hope it’s another tiger one though… 😀
Ahhhh I’m so curious! Is it the octopus? That would be awesome. Or the wolf!
Are you getting two more plushie dragons? I’m so excited, I was stalking her page so much after you said you were commissioning her for this guy.
Oh yay he looks so cute with all the windstones!! I also have one by the same artist, mine is green and looks sort of like stitch from lilo and stitch. I should come visit you and see him, I’m sure he’s super soft in person. I was also really surprised at how nice the face looks in person compared to photos.
The artist is Leanna Cross, she has deviantart which is where I first found her. Her sculptures are really nice, and she’s only 18. Her page: http://woodsplitterlee.deviantart.com/
EeeEee! That black one is adorable. Black blanket appaloosas are so pretty. I like the buckskin pintaloosa too. So cute 🙂
Haha I’ve seen a few auctions like that recently. I think the recession is officially over.
Hey! Chocolate rain was my favourite ebay dragon ever! I really wish I had bid, heh.
I did a galloping thoroughbred recently but ended up painting him a grulla colour. I’ve been obsessed with bay horses lately, all my sketches for new stuff are bay horses, so I should do a thoroughbred. I kind of want to do some portrait models as practise so famous racers would be good to do. Zenyatta, Rachel Alexandra, Lost in the Fog, Silver Train, Tiznow, Artie Schiller, Curlin, and Colonel John were ones I was thinking of doing at some point, but I never seem to actually make most of the things I plan to!
Hopefully this summer I will have time to try some new things. (I always make “summer art goals” lol) I want do try some “all clay” type sculptures like griffons, wolves, or birds. Maybe work on human sculptures. I bought some feathers recently so want to work on making some feathery wings for some of my horses, and then to just practise and improve on my horse-making skills in general. Also I am hoping to get back into selling on ebay again- it’s been over a year and would be interesting to see. Plus the economy issues are over and things are selling on ebay again. 😀
Or another solution: Graft another 2 or so pairs of arms onto Melody. Which will equal more painted pretties, yes?
LOL octo-melody!
Maybe they could do a poll thingy before the grab bags hit the store, like “if we did grab bag ___s, and charged ____ for them, would you buy, how many would you buy” something like that. So that way, they could sort of gauge interest before they decide on a limit? Just brainstorming here… xD
Adaneth- I have 4 to finish, 2 of them are halfway done. So we can start working out the details now, I usually work on 4 or 5 sculptures at a time anyway rather than doing them one by one. You can email me, my email is scenceable at hotmail .com 🙂
Hey guys, again, thanks for all the kind words!
I have two new sculptures done, both were commissions. I have a few commissions lined up but have been backed up recently with the school year ending. Fortunately my exams are done in less than a week and then I will have much more free time! So if anyone wants to do a trade or something let me know, I have more time to sculpt now! 😀
I’m not sure how these photos will look, they might get cut off.
First is an orange and blue unicorn named Nalani:
And next is a big palomino drafter named Alasair:
Thanks for looking! Hopefully I’ll have more stuff to post soon 🙂
