A windstone themed barbeque would be awesome!
Ricter is really pretty, I love the photos you took of him too! Especially the train tracks one 🙂 Congrats!
Getting a bit cold for a barbeque, how about a pot luck?
Ok! I can’t cook though, I’ll bring booze xD
Well I got my unicorn today! The first one, I ordered one from each batch. I was ecstatic that he arrived in one piece, especially since the box he came in was all dented up on the outside (stupid mail.) BUT ANYWAY here is “Violet”.
I was trying to capture the iridescence in those. Anyway I have wanted a palomino young for ages but this one isn’t really light and yellowy enough. He’s very much a chestnut with a white mane and tail. At first I was kind of “meh”, especially with the name “violet”. But he has lavender eyes and purple crystals and purple iridescence, and then I remember, hey, I have another young unicorn kind of like that already!
Wisteria and Violet! Both with purple eyes and crystals, both with purple flower names. They make a cute set.
I also got my first fuzzy ever with this one and then proceeded to go an lose it. I went back to sleep after the mailman came and I think the fuzzy just got left somewhere. Uh oh.
I’m going to wait and see what my second one is, but it’s likely I will end up trading “Violet”. If anyone is really in love with him feel free to pm me. For trades I’d be looking for a more yellow palomino (doesn’t have to be solid, could be appaloosa, pangare, sabino, pinto), anything appaloosa, one of the silver dapples (dark brown with white hair) or any grulla or buckskinish one. (again doesn’t have to be solid). Or something else even, doesn’t have to be from this batch.
October 3, 2011 at 5:08 pm in reply to: Important! Did all Young Unicorns from last batch arrive safely? #859080My firsty guy (I got one from each batch) arrived safely! The box was all dented up as per usual with canada post but the inserts seemed tight and he was fine! I stress for nothing xD
October 3, 2011 at 3:38 am in reply to: Report Windstone Fakes/Knock offs/Infringment Pls read first #859048Also, even though a lot of stuff is posted on this thread, and John is aware of it, I don’t think windstone sends their lawyers after every single case. 🙂
Omg, I love your breyers! Especially the Cigars! And the silvers! How come there’s two hidalgos, is one glossy or something? I have a bunch of breyers but I’m kind of noob about most of them 😛
Your windstone collection WILL grow, just give it time! Hehe 🙂
Yes, one of the Hidalgos is glossy. He was the Reserve Grand Champ prize at Breyerfest the year I showed there. I was so lucky to win him.
Say, does Windstone have something like Breyerfest? That would be cool.
I am not sure if there have been windstone “meets” in the past, I think there have, but I’d certainly love to go to one! Especially one with mini shows and prizes. Could have like, an old warrior halter class. And PYO contests. It’d be awesome!

Thanks everyone! 😀
I got a few photos today, but I’m probably going to wait until like, the day before the deadline and pick 3 to post, since I’m sure I’ll take more between now and then.
It has been so rainy and cold this week but I had to go out and do some photos for a sculpture, so I bought some windstones. So I’m at the lake with all these horses spread out on the rocks taking pictures, all concentrated and in the zone. I turn around (I’m on my belly/ sitting) and I’m surrounded by ducks and seagulls! I guess they were lonely or something, but I had to leave because they were literally like a foot away from the sculptures and windstones trying to bite at them. Who knew! Good photo spot, full of ravenous ducks who think horses are food.
Ugh.
Still deciding on which ones I want to get photos of. Plus it’s a matter of which ones to bring and take risk with. I was originally going to do GB young ones but they tip over too easily and I’d end up setting them down in mud or something. Megan you said you put a bag under your grand unicorn? Maybe I’ll do something like that.
I think there is a lot of potential for hilarious poad photos! Too bad I don’t have any poads. All 3 of mine will end up being foresty unicorn photos xD
Anyway I’m rambling. I love this contest idea by the way, all the photos so far are AWESOME.
Yea I know. I’m just being whiny because nobody ever mentioned that they got split into two batches, one being fantasy and the other not… I would never have got from the first batch if I knew that.
Did I miss something? I thought the ones that were in the first set were the ones we saw on livestream and the ones today were ones that hadn’t gotten done during the livestream. Who said they were split? I’m confused!??
That’s what I thought too Megan!
I was told they are all in the second batch after the fact actually, but who knows I guess.
Really? That’s too bad 🙁 Though even if it’s true I guess there will still be people who will want to trade them.
I wasn’t trying to stir the pot or anything with my comment! Mine hasn’t arrived yet anyway xD
I think you can post it any time. A lot of the uh, more dedicated, let’s say, members got them from the first batch.
Um, I can’t say for sure, but it’s greatly possible that if someone got one of the really known popular ones (calicoloosa, juggernaut, zebra pinto) and actually really liked it, they probably wouldn’t post it. Can’t assume they haven’t been posted because they’re in the second batch 🙂
Thanks Sasha! <3
Heh, I would rather cut myself then have something fall apart any day! That link you posted had some good advice too. Perhaps I will make some “turds” to try lol.
I use turds all the time now too. I don’t have a food processor to mix them though, but if I have a few hours watching a movie or something I’ll use it to cut up tiny slivers of S. Firm and S. Sculpey with an exacto and then knead them. Takes forever. xD
Ugh that does sound annoying! I don’t think any of the clays I recommended would actually crumble. I have a dremel rotary tool and a power sander I use all the time on my sculptures and they never break or crumble. The only issue I’ve had is for stuff like Sculpey Firm is so hard, I try to slice it with an exacto knife, have to press super hard, and slip and cut myself. But it never crumbles, haha 😛
