Prayers for your family TM. Man, what a mess life makes sometimes.
I seriously need to find time to do a trade with you. This guy is awesome. (and I am broke)
Go on ahead and count me in for this next one too. I can at least manage a couple, I think.
…does anyone else have issues handling certain textures?
For example, at the vet clinic where I did my externship for tech school, we wrapped drapes in brown paper before putting them into the autoclave for sterilization. Handling the paper for any length of time was very nearly unbearable for me; it hurt my hands, and irritated me all the way up my forearms badly enough that I would get upset at my stomach and it would go around to my shoulderblades and back if I went on long enough.
The same goes for certain fabrics on occasion (and I cannot stand the sound/feel of someone scratching their jeans).
My mother looked at me like I’d lost my mind when I told her this the other night. I’ve been trolling the interwebs trying to find out if it’s got anything to do with synesthesia, but so far no luck. How about the rest of you?
Cute dragons? I’ve never been all that great at ‘cute’ but gotta try something new, right?
Skins of the kind that you put on your cell phone/computer/mp3 player.
We have a vinyl printer/cutter and I need to put it to some good use as opposed to just doing the window decals and vehicle lettering that my dad is doing with it and I’ve been thinking about the skins that can be put on various devices of the handheld variety. I’ve even found a few templates to get started with so I don’t have to spend a ton of time making my own to begin with.
Barring licensed imagery, if you were going to buy a skin for your handheld device of electronic origin, what sorts of designs would you be into? (and yes, I can make you a skin with your art, but it has to be *your* art, or you have to have written permission to be using it). I need to make a few up to have available in my etsy shop/on my website.
Input, I need input!
Yeah, this thread is a couple months old, but I have to say that I laughed when I read the LotR FF drinking game.
The irony being that while the pairings are unique to LotR, obviously, the situations are not. I write/wrote Knight Rider/Team Knight Rider fanfiction (it’s still online if someone wanted to read it, I can give you the link) and that fandom was also riddled with such ridiculousness.
I’ve since stopped reading pretty much all of it because of the dumb (and I never did appreciate slash, and hated that it seemed that’s what most fics seem to be about).

I’m sure that there will be another one a some point or other after this one. Looks like lots of folks had a good time.

Yeah, that was on purpose. ;P
I find that my sister, who is not an artist herself, tends to gravitate toward abstract pieces, but pieces full of pattern and color, where she’s allowed to make her own image. There’s a set of paintings in the St Louis Art Museum that are basically a field of black with squiggles, slashes and stripes of lighter color that she decided looked like a rainy window at night.
She likes Monet (to a certain extent, the Art History Minor in me does too, having had to copy a painting of his, that mess is harder than it appears) but we both kind of stopped to look at each other with absolute confusion over an installation in the Art Museum that was nothing more than five identical gray boxes hung on the wall. Not even titled.
Used to be (back, way back, in the day) that to be a master painter you had to apprentice for years. I wonder if the issue now is that academia has had a little too much say in what’s considered ‘high’ art. Perhaps we’re still suffering from Dadaism, or artists have become too obsessed with trying to ‘say something’ instead of making something.
You guys will at least be amused to know that while I didn’t get to cover it in class, in my Modern Art History book, towards the more recent years in the back of it, they began covering anime and manga. 😉

I don’t think I understand what they tried to do there…
I haven’t sold anything in quite some time, but do you have to link to your bank account or can you just give them a credit card? It would be easier to use a card, especially since you can call the card company and get those charges reversed.
I have exactly one photo of me in my costume this year. And it’s pretty bad, since I’m sitting there wishing our photographer at the paper would just take the stupid picture already.
And I am done!
I just need to find a cover for one of them, since 8B pencil will smear, then I can send them along to Daydreamer.
