I’d go silent bidding on the forum classifieds, if that’s possible. Put it up for about a week, and update the ‘current high offer’ at the end of each day, notifying the high bidder for that day.

It would stink for Ebay to take a chunk of the sale funds.

Edit….oh duh…nevermind, read above about the decision already being made! sorry!

I dont know about Windstone, but what I choose varies. If I need just a little bit of watering down…I use water. Quite often this works well, but if you use too much water it can cause your paint to break down.

Most of the time it’s better to use a GAC.

A description on what GAC is and it’s purposes is here:

I’m able to nab GAC from our local Hobby Lobby…lots of art stores carry it.

I’ve run several types of paint through my airbrush. The key is the viscosity of the paint. Thin viscosity paints go through easier.

However, not every kind of paint thins down well. Also, some thin paints have really crappy color quality. Some metallic colors with larger….metallic bits, won’t go through mine at all.

Golden brand metallics are the best I’ve ever used, but are pricey. The metal pigments they use are super fine, and a prime example of good airbrush paint.

Before you start, I’d suggest taking apart your airbrush so you have a good idea of what all the parts are so you can clean it later when it develops clogs.

No matter what paints you use, sometimes clogs happen. Be sure you get one of those little brush cleaning tools for airbrushes. They’re a lifesaver.

I’ve also read that some airbrush artists put their paint through a strainer of some sort…like half of a tea ball or something to eliminate any hidden mini blobs that can cause clogs.

LOL, those rings are the reason I never bought any of the unis with them!

Reminds me too much of the green ring you’d find on your finger if it were cheap metal. Dirty necklaces! tsk tsk. However, the pyo uni isnt wearing jewelry, so those I like. I’m glad it appeals to others, it just wasnt quite my thing! 🙂

Glad I’m not the only one! It’s the reason I was glad to get a baby pegasus without a necklace, and can’t bring myself to buy the lighter colored flapcats–it drives me CRAZY.

Me too..sigh. It’s the reason I sold my birman flap cat…beautiful piece, but that ring around the neck made me want a washcloth just like if one of my kids gets a ring around the neck on a sweaty day! Can’t very well scrub it off a windstone though!

Depends on price. These guys are rather small pieces….so for me it would heavily depend on what sort of cost I have to put into them.

I’ve not seen any size comparison photos…but given the measurements I’m guessing they’re about half the size of the muse sculpt? Which runs $25.

If they ran about half that cost accordingly (maybe $12 apiece?)…I’d probably start off with three so I could play around with colorschemes, get a feel for the piece and possibly sell one.

If they ran anywhere in the range of $20+…I’d probably buy one, paint it for myself and enjoy that piece very much.

The pyo selling market has been a bit slow lately with everyone having to budget. Not only am I simply unable to afford three of these guys if they go for $20+….I doubt I could sell them at a price to continue purchasing.

I love the piece either way, and will purchase at least one, but point of sale price will influence how many I’d want to nab up.

Sorry I can’t be one of the excited ‘I’m gonna buy a ton!’ posts, they are lovely little guys!

If you mix thoroughly…I’ve had success getting a specific working texture by blending super sculpey and sculpey firm. But..those are the two hardest grade sculpey clays.

I also find regular sculpey to be too mushy for my taste…so I’m not sure what to suggest for getting it even softer. Perhaps the large blocks of white sculpey are softer than the smaller purchasable blocks?

Once I purchased a standard sized black sculpey block and found it to be harder than the usual sculpey I knew from the past (before that point the only plain sculpey I had used was the large blocks of the white). Maybe it was older…maybe the smaller blocks stiffen up quicker (like going stale) quicker than the larger portions, I don’t know.

~hugs~ to her family. I remember reading about her battle with cancer and how brave I thought she was. She died a warrior. My condolences to those who knew her and feel her loss most profoundly.
