It sucks to have that happen but you are lucky to find out now that company didn’t fit well instead of being miserable for several months or years. Keep up a good attitude – hopefully you’ll find something better than uses your talents and experience.
BTW – I’ve bought several zippered pouches, a couple laptop sleeves and a backpack style bag from Prez’s Redbubble store. You guys should check it out. My favorite is ‘Burst Forth’ which is a neat dragon design. Her Kitsune is also quite nice. ^_^
Thank you Ela! You’ve been awesome and super supportive. I can’t begin to explain how much that has meant to me. I AM picking myself up and trying again. Putting in applications into jobs that my program was for (even if it’s been soured for me). My old part time job was happy to rehire me so I’m at least working. And I’m starting a self-certification course to expand on my skill set. I’m grateful I have people who support me while I scrabble on the hill to find purchase. My friends and family are awesome people and I don’t say it enough.
At some point I hope to start back up again on some physical media projects. I have a sculpt I really want to finish (feline based kaiju). A Missmonster mask I need to work on. Male and female sushi cats I need to paint.
And digitally I have to finish a horror themed painting for a friend. Gotta stop being a potato on this stuff.
Oh, and if anyone is interested. ‘Mendalan Cradle’ (brown PYO dragon) and ‘Sea Flowers’ (yellow hippocampus) are still available for sale. PM me if interested. Not bothering with a listing the the ‘Classified’ section.

It’s been a long, rough time. I went back to school, got into a selective program, aced it, got a job with it, then was terminated 3 months in during my probationary period because I ‘did not fulfill their needs’. Coincidentally 3 days after they hired someone more experienced.
I have to say, it really wrecked my confidence. Not even sure I want to keep trying with this type of career. It hurts, y’know? It’s not like I’m in my 20s. I feel like I wasted a lot of time and effort.
And while I was at the job I had so much anxiety. To the point of being sick every morning I had to go in. But if I stop I feel like a quitter and a disappointment. -sighs- Apologies for the negative drone. I just needed to get it out. So many mistakes were made.

My choices were #s 129, 27, 57, & 93.
I was lucky enough to get my first choice of #129, I even like the ‘biohazard green eyes’! He reminds me of a PYO Keeper someone painted in the OLD gallery. Really liked the piece (Carribean Waters…Coral…some tropical reef themed name), but by the time I joined the forum the painter seemed to have disappeared.

When I see certain painters suddenly stop or taper off in creating it always feels like such a loss! I understand circumstances can get in the way, but it still makes me sad. So to hear you’re starting back up (at least for awhile) is great! Looking forward to seeing some of your new work.

When I get the chance I’ll start work on a couple back logged PYO projects. I have a couple sushi cats that have been waiting for me as well as a Chophound mask by MissMonster and one of her blepping Foos. The female sushi cat will probably be next as I actually have a concrete idea of what I want to do with her.

That’s just what the website I got it off of calls it (so I’m calling it that too). It came pre-mixed in a bottle and can be brushed on. Kind of weird stuff. It goes on as an opaque pinkish tan and then dries mostly clear. Works best on a black background. So when its cold you see the black background and as it gets warm it changes color (red to gold to green to teal to blue). Then as it cools it goes back through the colors to black background.
The silvery bits are just normal acrylic paint. The liquid crystal ink makes the stripes more dynamic than the color shift paint. Its so neat to watch it constantly change color!

‘Touchy Feely’ is my first PYO Oriental dragon. I love how he turned out. I painted him in a rainbow of acrylics and big cat markings. But the reason for his name is the liquid crystal ink I did his markings in. With just a touch or hint of warmth, they shift colors just like a mood ring. So yeah, he’s quite ‘Touchy Feely’. 😉

I have yet to post pictures of the cougars my friend (captain vegeta) and I got (we only purchased from the fantasy batch). But the least I can do is point them out on the class pictures.
