The dinos are all so cute! The T-Rex especially. I was always a sucker for the big guy (girl?) from Jurassic Park 😆
Thanks everybody! I’m going to give it my best. Though… I do wish I wasn’t working the very, very earliest shift… 😆 That won’t matter when classes start and I have to be up and about that early anyway, but in the summer it’s tough!
So how many recruits does the Fledge Army have now, DM? 😆 Man I love that VF color… anyone remember if there has ever been any talk of making the spectrals in it? *is hopeful*
My cousin is having a fit (she has three little ones and I think so far about five of the toys on the recall list). I wonder how that many toys managed to be produced with that paint and no one notice? Somebody at Fisher-Price is probably sweating right now…
I was watching coverage of that this morning–looks like a real disaster! They were saying how unusual it was that so many people got out of such a large accident relatively unharmed, though, so that’s good at least.

Oh yeah… 8) Haha, I think my mother suspects though. I should just tell our UPS guy to deliver all packages to the back deck, so I will find them first.
First job, actually 😀
I managed to get a coveted position in the Inter-Library Loan department of my university’s library (how did I manage this with no real job experienc? the world may never know…) We trade books with other libraries and universities all over the world, which I think is really cool. I feel like by doing this job I will actually be making a difference to somebody, if they need a certain book or article for their schooling and I can help them get it. Yeah, it’s not much in the grand scheme of things, but I feel good knowing I’m helping fellow students out 🙂
Today was my first day on the job and I think I will like it. Luckily the most vexing thing I had to tackle was the paper cutter (my lovely nice new coworkers laughed at me for not having the brute strength to slice a lot of paper at once, ha ha, let’s all laugh at the shrimpy girl…).
This morning when I clocked in for the first time all I could think of when I swiped my (new and improved!) student badge was “Swipey means money… money means LE flap cat… Guinea pig… more PYO’s… VF spectrals… IVEP Secret Keeper…!” *drool drool* 😆 But really, I got the job to help cover book money once class starts.
Or did I…? 8) Come on, extra hours and cheap textbooks!
I think I was about eleven when I found them… We went to the mall that day and my little brother weaseled Dad out of $60 worth of videogames, so I felt justified in asking for an emerald mouse wizard. I loved it because the green (then my favorite color) was so vibrant, and I had a soft spot for mice even back then.
I remember Dad looking at it in the glass display case with this bemused expression on his face and he asked me “…what would you do with it?”
“Put it on my table and look at it every day and not let it get dusty.”
So I got it. At Christmas that year I got the emerald hatcher, and for my birthday I nearly died when my only present from Dad was the emerald male. See, he’s just as addicted as me, I’m just his excuse to buy the pretty dragons 😉 He can’t deny it, the sheer volume of fantasy on his bookshelf speaks against him.
It’s been going like that ever since. And now I’m “grown up” (ha ha!!) and can buy some for myself once in a while!
Oh, Arlla! The colors are so natural and realistic. He looks so soft… *blissful sigh* I love him. Congrats, Ski, he’s a beauty!
Wow, they’re both gorgeous even if they’re not finished yet. The feather detail on Everglade is spectacular 😀 You’ve made me want to try a griff, now, the one PYO I swore I’d never do… Thanks 😛
Wow 😯 I don’t blame you for wanting to keep him! He’s wonderful!
Oh, boy… *groan* Fellow 19-year-old here, and I share your pain. (hugs) Luckily my parents treat me like the woman I am and give me free reign over everything in my life, but like you, relatives and “well-meaning” others can’t seem to mind their own business.
My best friends (all girls, and all of legal age) and I had a roadtrip planned to Florida for the first week of summer break. Absolutely everything was in order to the point of having a hotel reserved, when the mother of one of our key players suddenly decided to go balistic. Apparently because we are all young women without the company of “trustworthy young men” or an “adult” (I’m assuming that here she meant someone over the age of forty…) our car was going to break down and we would all be raped and murdered on the side of the highway, and even thinking of letting us go was the stupidest thing our parents had ever done. (I guess she forgot that she didn’t have a thing to say as we talked about and planned the trip for three months…)
So that girl listened to her mother and pansied out, and one by one so did all our other friends. Florida never happened. I’m not done being angry about that one.
I really do hope this doesn’t ruin your time with your friends! I agree, if you can trust someone with a collection that valuable and have spoken in person, there’s no reason not to meet them. As you said, you meet new people all the time, and some of them you’ve never spoken to before.
Good luck working things out!
Is he an inside cat or an outside cat, or both? Once something very similar happened to our little bobcat Tiger, and come to find out (after an expesive vet trip) he had pounced around in something akin to poison ivy! There was no swelling or weird colors, but it did peel and it annoyed him.
I used to do the same thing as you, purpledoggy 🙂 I wonder what happened to all of mine… Hmm, now I gotta go look.
Hmm… I’d like to be a fluffy flioness, but something tells me I’d be closer in personality to the Muse or Poad. You know, kinda cautious and low to the ground? 😆
