Ha! Finished! Well, except for final coat coat and gluing eyes/pad. Hopefully I’ll have good light tomorrow for photos. We had snow all day today! Now I just need a name for it…….

There was a time a good 10+ years ago that my hubby and I saw them. We lived in Kansas at the time. We were driving on I-70 to my parents’ house in KC at night. We saw some odd looking light/colors to the north. It took a few min for us to realize what we were seeing. It wasn’t really large and obvious like it is farther north, but it was cool to know that we were able to see some so far south.

I’m still finishing mine up. I may not have pics by the 22, but darn it, it WILL be ready to ship on the 25th! Just making tweaks and wondering if I will antique it and in what color.

I think young poads could be fun, especially if you can swing a safari + fantasy batch. If not, then a straight safari batch. It would be fun to make a matching poad family to go with the new tadpoads.

Yes yes yes! This!!!!! Safari all the way!!! I would probably add another GB Tadpoad to my order!

Here are the ones I ended up with. First is a normal Hoppy Tadpoad, then a fantasy Hoppy, a dun, a honey badger, an AWD, a leopard, and a spotted bunny. This sculpt is now the most numerous one in my collection. I love these safaris! I also had to take some pics of some of my collection with their new buddies.

I VERY lightly loaded a brush with dark grey, blotted it, and drybrushed over the fur to get a little on the top of the fur ‘ridges’- sort of a reverse antiquing. The brush was just about dry, so only a little gets on the figure.
                    Hope this helps!

I agree with this. Dry brushing over the fur in a slightly lighter color really brings definition to the fur.

My last final trade arrived today. I’ll try to take a group pic tomorrow. How the hell did I end up with seven of these guys?! :O :-O

That is true. And I do absolutely love the patterns you do. It shows your artistic talent so well! And those unis do look so nice in the fantasy colors……

I will shamelessly ask for the young GS to be done in a lower price range than the safari/candy corn batch. It’s the only way I would be able to get one.

So Angelika Zen and I did a Tadpoad trade, my chickadee for her fantasy hoppy. The box arrived today and I wondered at the large size of it! Way too big for one little Tadpoad. When I opened the box, I found my Tadpoad and two Fuzzy stowaways. (Pics tomorrow in better light). There was also this box:

                                And inside was:

CHOCOLATE!!!! I was her swapee for the chocolate swap. There are York peppermint patties, Junior mints, a Russell Stover chocolate bar, some delicious looking mint cups, and mint Aero bars! Awesome!!!!! Thank you so very much!!! I love it all and it will be savored and enjoyed. Now I just have to hide it from the others in the house…….

I drove a grand am that was stick for several years through college and then some. Probably around seven years? You’ll pick it up and it will be second nature in no time. It’s a nice skill to have.
