I think the pics are adorable. Though, if it were me, I’d be worried the dog would smother the baby when nobody was looking. Unintentional, I’m sure, but that’s an awfully big dog, and an awfully small kiddo.
Born an Army Brat, raised an Air Force Brat, now an Air Force Wife. You’d think I’d have moved around more, but I haven’t really done so…
Not counting moves to different houses, since they were all in the same general area:
Texas (Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo)
Hawaii (Schofield Barracks [I would assume], Oahu)
North Dakota (Fargo)
England (RAF Lakenheath, tho lived in Newmarket)
Arizona (Williams AFB, Gilbert/Queen Creek area)
Hell… *cough* err.. Nebraska (Offutt AFB, Omaha area)
Okinawa, Japan (Kadena AB)You’ve got it right, Hoofer. If someone’s profile is set to private, you have to be added to their Friends list in order to actually see all of their profile and read their blogs. Otherwise you just see their basic location info and their default pic.
That’s good news, to hear that Bacchus made it back okay.
The stairs thing seems to be a rather common thing with cats, damn them… I lost my grandmother because of that π₯. Please be careful (same to anyone else with stair-hog kitties). Mine knows to avoid me, lest he be punted down the stairs, but get gets Hubby a lot (though it could be because he’s not good at walking and avoiding things simultaneously, unless it’s a giant jet).
July 8, 2008 at 4:30 pm in reply to: What are your guilty pleasure movies, songs, books, TV….. #720556π― π― Holy cow, Drag0n… I thought I had a lot of anime. I only have about a third of that. Well, unless you count what I’ve downloaded. I’m jealous though.
Erm… guilty pleasures…
Sleeping in. I sleep more than most people I know, even the sick ones. Partly because I can, partly because I don’t function well on < 10 hrs a day.
Anime. But that’s somewhat obvious, if you know anything about me (maybe the avatar would be a tip-off). I download WAY more than I buy (I wish I was that rich!), but I buy what I’ve watched and thought was good. Even if I’m not sure if I’ll watch it again. I want to show my support for the good stuff with my purchases. I’ve only ever bought one bootleg, but that’s because it’ll likely never be officially subtitled (Macross 7). I’m currently obsessed with Prince of Tennis and Naruto.
Anime music. Most of which I really don’t know the words to, but I sing along as best I can anyway. The few songs I know by heart, I have looked up translations for. Fushigi Yuugi music makes me insanely happy, so there’s a lot of that on repeat.
Musicals. Even cheesy ones. High School Musical is a somewhat recent one (but not the sequel… I don’t like the songs). And you can find the original Broadway cast version of the Phantom of the Opera always nearby.
Kid’s books. Young Adult, whatever. When I hit a bookstore, I briefly check the Fantasy section to see if a new book is out in the series I read, but then I go get lost in the kid’s section. I’ll spend an hour in there, just reading the descriptions to see what sounds appealing. If I don’t walk out with 3-4, I’ll at least leave with one and another list of future buys. Jenny Nimmo’s Children of the Red King series is rather good, btw.
Post-Its. I’ve gotten better at not buying them (mostly due to the pitiful selection here), but I used to buy some practically every time I went to the store.
Ditto with pens. They’re all different… designs, inks, tip size… and then there’s Sharpies.. oh, geez, I won’t even get started there. Whoever decided that it was a good idea to sell those huge rainbow packs is EVIL!
Hey, hey, Mirrako… what kind of Harley do you have??
Tintaglia wrote:How do you feed them?
If you click on the link for the critter, if it’s not rigged, you’ll be taken to a feeding page where you’ll have options for what to feed it. If it’s rigged, then you’ll be taken to the page saying you’ve fed the critter the food that was already chosen.
I’ve had a few for awhile, but since it always seemed down, I never bothered posting them anywhere. Or find out when they hatch, for that matter.
Mine are rigged, but if anyone would like to level ’em up…
Romeo, I saw your name for new users when I went and looked today! To rig the feedings, just use the feeding link, add a / then the name of the food. Apparently there’s a way to have them randomize between the “good/neutral/evil” selections, but I’m not sure how to do that.
You can use a + instead of the underscore too, but if you add it like that to your Gaia profile, it won’t work. Dumb Gaia. π
Happy 4th from Japan, everyone!
*nevermind the fact that these fireworks are from a festival in August… they’re pretty.
Oh, he’s such a beautiful Corgi (with the perfect name, of course ;)). He’s a Pembroke, right? I’m not great at differentiating between the breeds, but his ears aren’t as rounded as I’m used to seeing on Cardigans.
Greater Basilisk wrote:Seafoam is beautiful. I’ve thought about buying him, but I really can’t spend the money right now. π
Ditto. I’ve considered him several times… but I’m more broke than I’ve been in a looong time. I think I need to get a job for a while to catch up on things. π Or at least to cover my bike payment.
I love the colors on the new red one, btw.
ddvm wrote:Just a quick aside – you two wouldn’t watch Battlestar Galactica, would you? I just had to fracking ask! π
π― I do… and I didn’t even notice they said that. I’m losing it….
I’m glad some folks around here are having good things happen to them π
It’s a day late, but I finally got to see my new Harley in person yesterday. And I found out that the Purple Haze color has tons of little sparkles in the paint. That made me smile. 8)
Ooh, all the new pretties are nice. I really like the orange necklace.
Oyy… I can’t believe I totally missed the post with the 2nd incarnation of Haku. Very nice (tho his right legs look a lil off w/o the scales). I’m super happy with the first one ^_^
June 25, 2008 at 3:01 pm in reply to: What is your least favorite? (what do you tend not to like) #717382Hatchlings and the mothers are my least favorites. I do have one of each though, so as not to exclude any of the dragon sculpts from my collection. Both are in Rainbow, which I thought was the prettiest color on both of them at the time of purchase (when Rainbow was new).
It’s the egg itself that I don’t care for much though. I’m not a huge fan of any of the hatching royalty either… the hatching Emp is adorable, but I’d much rather have him already be fully hatched.
Erm, since it’s damn near impossible to talk to an anesthesiologist without a million referrals and time… I’d also suggest talking to another doctor ASAP. I’d be likely to hit the ER, personally. That’s pretty damn irresponsible for your dentist to think that time alone is what’s best for a [possible] overdose… and quite frankly, he should be more concerned about his patients than that. But anyway… time could be what’s needed, but it isn’t always. I don’t have a clue about anesthetics, so couldn’t even guess anything more than the basics that come with introducing a non-native drug to your body and having to deal with it longer than normal. But the worst that can happen with getting another doctor’s opinion is being told again to wait it out. It’s MUCH better to be safe than sorry. Almost a week of side effects like those is a bad thing, regardless.
Serenity wrote:But I would get it checked out with a pharmacy tech… they went to school for that… π
Actually, in the US, Pharm Techs are not legally allowed to council patients whatsoever (some still do, but they’re risking their job & their certification (if they have one)). Even if asked if ibuprofen or acetaminophen is better for something… you can only say as much as the label says & then refer them to the pharmacist. Pharmacists go to school to council (among other things), though they don’t often specialize in anesthesia drugs… techs just go to school to learn some of the drugs and how to fill the scripts. π Oh, and to hear every 5 minutes how we’re not allowed to council. π (well, it felt like every 5 minutes anyway….)
Lucky you! That’s a really nice color… and the blue’s neat. Congrats!
And the sitting chick is supposed to be female, per Melody somewhere in this mess (I’m too tired to even contemplate doing a decent search)… but once it’s yours, it is whatever you want it to be π
It makes me think of little girls who find mom’s eyeshadow… π
