Good for you! Lucky find. I hope he didn’t set you back too much. But even so, what a great piece. How big is he?

Thank you! He didn’t set me back much at all! Really a lucky find!
He is taller than a baby uni, bout half as tall as a young. Not too big, not too tall…just right!

For some reason when trying to order today . There is no select address and I’m forced to write everything in then I get to review and the submit button is gone . I told Susie . She told me to refresh the page and that didn’t work either . She said some got orders thru but someone else had my problem too .
I’ve ordered many times from the store . I’m not new at this .

Same thing happened to me a couple of days ago. I taught it was because I had deleted cookies so didn’t think to mention it here. Didn’t do the refresh thing as I didn’t want to lose my orde. So just filled everything out again.

    Photobucket

Here is my happy find! I love him!! Can someone tell me more about him, when this color was made and if he was a special edition and …well..whatever else you can tell me! He has no felt and no tags, WINDSTONE is stamped on his bottom. He really is so adorable!!

    Here is his album. Thanks!!!

If he is stamped on the bottom, he is an original vintage one = RARE! Good find!

Thank you Melody! Yes he is stamped WINDSTONE on the bottom! Yay! I have a rare original vintage one! My first one!!!

If he has a stamp on his bottom instead of felt, yes, he is one of the original ones from the 80s. The coloring looks right too. Great find and definitely looking great for his age! Congrats!

Thank you! I should have taken a pic of his bottom, but it’s just a stamp!

I like the “special” section, too.

The BIN process very quickly eliminates many people from having even the slightest chance of buying. Especially when two of the three pieces from last night disappeared almost as fast as they went up. If the thought behind the special section was to give people a chance at these pieces without going through ebay, then the setup should be modified to accommodate more members.

I like the suggestion that some members have made about having the item open for offers for a set time frame (a week, for example). This would give most of us the chance to at least look at the item and decide if we would like it (aka can afford it). This without the BIN price. If you don’t get the BIN price offered in a week, then sell to the highest offer that came in first.

Similar to the above, another idea – that may or may not fly – would be to take “bids” on a certain day only. This is a little bit like a live auction, in that the catalogue (in this case the photo of the item) with your minimum “bid” posted is available for viewing without any bids being taken for a week. Then, on a set day and for a set period of time (say, 2 hours), bids are taken. By knowing in advance when the item will end – just like on ebay – if you really want it and are in a different time zone, you can set your clock and at least submit within the time frame. Everyone puts in their “best” offer, which still remains private. The highest offer wins. In the case of a tie, whoever put in the highest offer first could get it, or it could be offered to the two people in a private bidding “war”.

I agree with many of the others who posted – a month is too long to leave it up. Based on last night, though, it is not likely to be an issue anyway.

    Just my thoughts

I liked what you said, up til you got to the part of the private offer…which throws me. I would like to see what I’m up against. If I know someone already bid 240 on something, I wont bother with my measly 120. Then again, If I know I’m up against 240, I just might bid 250 if I want the piece enough, and now I know what I will have to budget.

Anyway, I tend to stay away from private secret bidding. Besides, why can’t the highest bid be seen? The bidder can be kept secret, but the highest price should be shown. Just my feelings on this.

Wow! It looks like you got one of the originals from back in the 80’s when Windstone had a line of animals. And to top it off, he’s in very good condition. Nice find!

Thank you! I was hoping he was one of the originals!! And so glad he is a puppy dog, since I love puppies and ponies…which translates to wolfies and any canines and unicorns and pegasuses!!! LOL!

    No problem!

I tried clicking, and it told me I need to sign in.

    He sure is a cutie!

Thank you Maplecarver! I was so happy to see him just sitting there on a shelf at this estate sale! Waiting for me to bring him home!

Cant edit my original post but hoping this album will work. If not, please send me a note. Thanks!

Well, he’s neither the tricolor run of 24, nor the blue merle run of 16 that was on Ebay a few years back.

I can’t say for sure, but from your mention of no felt, I’m guessing you have an old one from the eighties. Sweet find!

Thank you! I kinda figured he was an oldie but goodie! Wish I knew more about him though. His color is adorable! Does the album work?

    Some thoughts…..

Why not do this special items section kinda like eBay? Start with a minimum bid of what you can let them go for…like on these it was $190. Let others see what the current offer is and keep the buy it now button there too. If someone wants it bad enough, they can just buy it. Give it more of a reasonable time, Ike a week, two tops…..a month is way too long to see of I won….or not…especially not knowing my offer is the highest…or not.

I put the palomino in for the wrong amount. She was supposed to be 300, not 400 (she is less detailed than the other two). I was not able to change the price until she was dropped out of the cart she was in. After she was dropped I changed the price. So, whoever has her in their cart now should see a price of 300 (sorry!–I have no idea what I’m doing)

Thank you Pam for answering so quicklike!

Um…just noticed something….palomino is $300 whereas the bay and buckskin are $400 each. Will the person who has the palomino in their cart be charged $300 or $400?

    Thank you again!

Originally there was concern that offers would be too low and we did not want to be obligated to sell to the highest offer if the highest offer was too low (i.e. $10). I put in a minimum offer amount to solve this but somehow it didn’t. Maybe there was miscommunication of some sort going on. I would like to just say “highest offer gets it if it doesn’t sell for the listed price”, and then set the minimum offer to the minimum we would like to get for it.

Thank you all for ‘splaining! I tHought the minimum offer was $190 for these beauties! But I’m going to put that to the test right now…the offer I’m aout to make, I know is not an acceptable one…but it’s a test for me……..
Awesome….I offered $10 and it says It should be in the range of 190-399!!!!!

Thank you for doing this! It’s an awesome concept! Hope more goodies come in soon…Like….more pegasuses and unicorns and maybe just maybe some pebble wolfies maybe?!

Technically they are not out of stock, they are just floating around in carts right now. I will remove an item once it is bought so offers can no longer be made.

Regarding offers, basically we accept offers for a month, review them, and then *maybe* sell them to the highest offer-er.

“Maybe”? Shouldn’t the minimum bid be what it can be sold for? I don’t want to be causing any waves…love this company! But ……the word “maybe”….. Kinda makes me not want to offer sortakinda, if i have no chance of winning at all since it’s a maybe. See?

Growing up….”maybe” was just another word for no 🙁 . Guess even for my old age, it still comes across as “no”. Sorry about the little rant. The word maybe does that to me.

    Love windstone! And fuzzies!
