Mine is lonely, too. Currently he is with my other unicorns. Waiting for parents. Hope a new Ki-rin color comes eventually.

CherylKaufman wrote:Yes, Blake calls me a dork when it comes to Windstones and model horses. And I miss you guys sooo-o so much!! I hate having to work under scrutiny of which websites I visit but if I lost my job over it I couldn’t buy more pretty Windstones! Nonetheless thank you for missing me!
Yes!!! We miss you Cheryl! π
And my Fiance calls me a dork too… for the same reasons….
Of course I call HIM a dork as well… for his Warhammer 40K figures!!!
Once… when he and his friends were moving me out of my apartment and into the house that Bob and I were renting together… one of the guys looked at my room (filled to the brim with horses, pictures of horses, horse magazines, horse books… etc…) and asked…
“Gee Bob… do you think she’s a LITTLE obessessed with horses!?”
Our other friend nodded in agreeance…
Bob turned to them and uttered…
“Guys…. Warhammer?”
“Oh right, right…”
“yeah…”
I haven’t heard a BLASTED thing about it since!!! Especially since *I* can make MONEY at my hobby! HA HA!!!
I love that story though… kinds justifies my obsess….err hobby!!! π
Nirvanacat13 wrote:Like we’ve said before….This GRAND secret that DM and I have will be revealed….I don’t think She will be able to resist posting about it =P And if she does, I’ll come kick her little behind with an RPG or heat seeker or something….
Well hurry up then!!!! π π π
asinnamon wrote:When I apply them to my PYOs, I tend to have to blow off the excess alot. This means I am not only getting the dust EVERYWHERE, but I breath it in too. How do I get around this?? Maybe by using less dust and more layers?
Air filter… breathing mask… etc..
but even I’m too stubborn to use one. REALLY should. If you get into more expensive (and in a lotof cases more “toxic” pastels.) you really SHOULD use one…
I really should use one…
asinnamon wrote:I also have a hard time getting clean lines when I want a color seperation, any tips for that?
Masking it off? use tape? I dunno… when I want clean lines that generally when I paint with acrylics. π
Lokie wrote:ladybrooklyn wrote:Maybe we can do a swap sometime… ::hee hee:: LOVERLY! Love the colors… love the blending…
Yeah, we can work out a PYO trade sometime in the future; I’d love a piece by you π I just have an extremely slow turnaround rate for the PYOs (they take me forever) that committing to anything is near impossible at the moment. I’m sure I’ll get faster eventually π
Same here! π Though it’s really that it takes me forever to GET around to ACTUALLY doing the project. Not so much the time painting it. π
LMK when you have time to start one… and what you might like from me and maybe we can get started (not necessarily finishing on any time frame. :D)

Not soon enough for one stuck at work and bored beyond belief! π

GAH!!!!
You’re killing me with suspense here!!! π
WOOT!!!!
π This is gonna be FUN!!!
Well… Ic ould if I had a bit more time left in my lunch… DRAT!
Try this… (posted in another thread… but here again just in case! ^.^) Jennifer Danza… she’s the pioneer of pasteling (to my knowledge anyway) in the model horse hobby…
http://danzaanddanza.com/winter4.html
That should give you some basics… it’s really not that much different applying it to a PYO. π Especially if you are already familiar with how you paint the scales and such. π
If you have any other questions… I’ll try my hardest to answer them.
I WILL get a pastel tutorial up! π π
Welcome!!!
Guarenteed your collection will balloon shortly… these people are BAD influences!!! π π π
Looking foward to pics! π
Greater Basilisk wrote:So you’re right with the blend, blend, blend. She does look awesome from anything farther than 6 inches…
Yeah… that’s oen thing that bugs me about acrylics… they look AWESOME from a ways away… until you inspect it really close and then you can start to see the strokes… where you blended and how… etc..
If you aren’t using an acrylic medium… I’d suggest it… it will at least help a bit. π
