I have a friend who made equine birthday cakes for her horses with baby carrots for candles.

How friggin’ cute is that!!! I think that’s awesome!

    Pizza…
I’m happy because….my dogs love me beyond reason. 🙂

My Rowdy boy sure loves me, too! And I him! He’s the best dog I’ve ever had. 🙂 I’m sure he would LOVE pizza, but that much cheese would make him barf! (He doesn’t do so hot with cheese for some reason)

Oh, and the shop appears to be broken. 🙁

I’m having trouble with the forums as well. It only lists the active/recent posts that are at the bottom of the page, and not the forum posts like it usually does. It has an error comment instead.

in reply to: Issue With Ebay/Paypal Transaction and Buyer #939932

Well just as an update she still hasn’t messaged me back even though I saw her on here most of the night. I talked to paypal and they told me if someone files a chargeback with their credit card, paypal has no control over it and the credit card company investigates it and said it can sometimes take 2-3 months for them to make a decision on it. So in the meantime they basically told me my I would not be able to buy or sell anything else on ebay or paypal without making up the $98 negative balance on there now and that I may not be refunded the money at all. So after sending them my messages with all the evidence I have, for paypal to tell me that really upsets me even more. I told them I wasn’t waiting 2-3 months for something to clear up when I run a business on paypal and need to be able to buy and sell on there!

Oh wow! How awful! I’m so sorry this happened to you!

I had my identity stolen last year. Was the worst thing ever! My credit is forever ruined, despite following all the “fraud reporting” stuff I was given by the credit companies and banks. They even bought a ford mustang convertible, brand new with trimmings! Anyways. I am still in recovery mode. I lost my job in October, and am pending disability. My savings is tapped, and I’m struggling to get by, and have to sell my most prized things in the hopes of making ends meet. I have medical bills out the wazoo on top of it. So I feel for the person who’s accounts were hacked, and I feel for you as well, and the party affected by it. I can imagine how frustrating it is for you as well. It’s very overwhelming for the person who had their accounts compromised as well. Overwhelmingly so. (Especially trying to deal with it while sick, I can relate because of my cancer and MS). I hope everything works out for you, Kim! I really do! And I hope the person who was hacked can get things sorted quickly. (I, too, run a business where I take payment via PayPal. Really frustrating when PayPal gets hosed up, I’ve been there many times myself since the identity theft.)

Agh. I just wrote a novel, sorry! I was trying to express sympathy and empathy for both you and the person hacked. I hope I didn’t get annoying!

in reply to: 2016 Ebay Auction Picture Thread #939931

Of course I track the winners of ebay auctions, but as an intellectual game, not to try to acquire something. It is interesting to see who is buying what. I was collecting other things on ebay before they started to hiding the identity of bidders, and it was a lot more fun to be able just to see who won something.

If I remember correctly, ebay started using concealed identities to cut down on off-ebay offers to sell a similar item to a losing bidder, or to buy an item that someone else won (as happened to Chloe). A lot of the “second chance” offers were scams, sad to say.

Ebay is a public venue and I think that the identity of a bidder/buyer is also public (if you can figure it out). On the other hand, sales in the Classifieds here are private and should stay that way unless the buyer chooses to post a photo of something.

Personally I didn’t see the whole thing as negative. And I’m glad someone does, because it helps collectors know what the going rate is (for appraisals and for potential purchasing so we don’t get duped). 🙂 I appreciate when I can get help with something like that because someone is up to date on eBay and other venues.

Congrats to the winners of any/all eBay auctions! I admit I’m envious! LoL But happy for you, too! Those candied dragons look so awesome! Striking!

If I had money to spend I would totally blow it all on a australian shepherd themed colorway. Like with the two different colored eyes and the red merle coat pattern . . . I’m a sucker for that. I can see it now . . . red merle dragons, red merle griffins, red merle kyrins, red merle gothic unicorns, red merle grande unis and poads and more! Or even blue merle! I’m partial to red, because I have a red merle aussie. 😉

Someday I’ll have a full collection, a whole family and extended family of some wonderful colorway. But I’d love to see it in a beautiful merle with two diff color eyes! How beautiful that would be!

What do you guys think? Good idea? Bad idea?

in reply to: Windstone Identification Thread #939813

Can you help me identify? I am trying to find these and can’t. I’m looking to get these appraised, but don’t know what these are. Or if they are “real” or fakes.

Ok, so how about these. A white scratching dragon (506 scratching dragon with yellow/gold eyes and gold horns, a white hatching dragon (# 502 the one looking to the left with white colored egg, but does not have the rocky looking base, just an egg), and a white coiled dragon (505 coiled dragon, with opaque ball/egg). I can’t find them on the site. :-/

in reply to: Windstone Appraisals (What is my Windstone worth?) #939810

That’s a tough one to determine a value on but I would say it could compare to what some special store or ebay pieces have sold for if you search for the same size sculpt in other colours. Or I guess it would be what someone else is willing to pay for it if it is a popular one. You could take offers and sell to the highest offer.

It is hard, because it’s a OOAK, doesn’t look like any of the others I’ve seen. Very unique. Very pretty. I am sure it will be hard to find a buyer. I’ve listed it in the classifieds. Prices on ebay for production lines vary, so I have no idea. :-/

So sorry to hear what you are going through Jedwards0819. I hope they approve you for dissability and food stamps as soon as possible and sorry you have to sell your Windstone. That sounds a bit like what my mom and I have gone through in the past wondering how we were going to pay the rent and bills. We also had to get church help at one point. My mom was on disability and then they switched her to a pension when she turned 65 and now she gets maybe two thirds the money she used to get which sucks. She has been waiting for additional benefits to kick in for over a year and the government kind of gave her the run around about what she needed to apply for those. For the two years I have been unable to work I was lucky enough to get enough to pay my rent and then have to make do with buying and selling things online to pay bills and anything else. We have also been on a Calgary housing waitlist for over a year hoping for a rent subsidy but we are not considered a high priority. I have had friends who have been looking for work for months who can’t find any and almost 20,000 people here got laid off last year when oil prices dropped so I am not enthusiastic about trying to find work myself. Anyway I hope things get better and your luck turns around!

Thank you Kim. I’m sorry for your troubles. I’m no stranger to them.

So first off I would like to say what I appreciate about this forum because there are so many great people on here who try and help others acquire favourite and grail pieces and have a way of brightening people’s day with their generosity and caring attitudes. For my whine though unfortunately I have not been so fortunate and am upset. It’s one thing for someone to tell you they happened to get two of your favourite grab bags and they are not for trade which is fine. It’s another thing for them to tell you they will trade them if you get them their favourite grab bags, then they send you pictures, get your hopes up, make you spend a week searching for something to trade them and you find a piece they want, set up a 3 way trade and just when everything is about to go through, they stab you in the back and raise the offer to buy the piece they wanted themselves instead of trading. Then they tell you they got another piece in at the same time that was their favourite and they don’t have to trade you your favourite pieces anymore because they got what they wanted.

Since when has doing a fair trade turned into someone wasting a week of your time and then rubbing it in your face they are going to keep your two favourite pieces after they got their favourite pieces? I actually thought this person was nice enough to help me get my favourite pieces if they got theirs, but sorry I was mistaken that they actually just wanted to keep all the pieces for themselves and it doesn’t matter how I feel right? Wow I am sorry but I am so tired of dealing with people who only care what they get and don’t need to help anyone else! For the rest of you on here who do help people get pieces they want I appreciate you even more because obviously that is a rare trait. On that note my new grab bag poads are now for sale since I know now I won’t be able to trade for my favourites anymore.

“How RUDE!” – said in my best Stephanie Tanner voice.

I’m so sorry! Some people can be jerks. :-/

Ok. I haven’t been here for a while. My life has been one disaster after another. I lost both Schmendrick and Zeus (my cats). One last April, and one this past August. And I have had severe medical issues, and now I am pending disability benefits (which could take years to get, per my lawyer). In the meantime, my service dog, Rowdy, has to stop his training because I don’t have the money (ran out of savings) and my ex is taking child support back (rightfully so, since he has the kids more than I do of late since my hospitalization last June), and so I’m in dire straights! I even have to sell my one and only prized possession (my Windstone), not to mention this computer I am sitting at, and all of my big furniture, just to see if I can pay my rent! I am on a waiting list for Section 8 housing, but it’s miles long and years out. I am hoping I get approved for food stamps, because I’m tapping out all of my familial resources. I have no where to go, and I’m in an utter panic! My church helped me with rent and electricity this past month, but I’m super freaked out about February, since there is no way I can come up with it! My bio-family and I are estranged (for good reason) and I have tapped out my entire “extended” family (my ex’s family, best friends who are like family, etc) and I feel like there’s no solution! Ack!

Ok. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest. I’m super depressed lately, and don’t know how to handle any of it. There’s only so much “welfare” available. I’m stuck. 🙁

I have “Joule”, the raffle prize for July 2014. He is a male dragon sculpt and is airbrushed with metallic green, blue, gold, fuchsia, copper and violet. His glass eyes are metallic teal, and he has two aqua jewels in his forehead. He is, of course, signed on the bottom. What is his value?
