I really like the coloration of the China Mama Foo, and OH MY those are a wonderful pair of bookends! The way you applied the colors reminds me of the “powdery” finish to a parrot’s wings. Very realistic effect, very attractive shading, and I think the way you finished the base and ends is just delightful. Well done! :bigsmile:

I really wanted to give the wings a realistic look! The only think I can say that makes the bookends hard is their weight… they are very heavy.

The first foo mom is in the Nemmy color scheme and the second is based on traditional foo coloring so I call her China 😀

I’m so happy he’s home now! *hugs* I can’t begin to understand even a iota of the emotions you must have been going through but reading your words I just started crying. I hope if I ever have kids one day I can be half as brave as you have been for your family and son.
Try and remember that you have to take it one day at a time. I wish words could give more comfort then just being words on a screen. *hugs* Tea is always an amazing comfort to me when I’m stressed. Maybe some will help you?
