I am such a sucker for kittens. And this one looks like my dearly parted Jack. He’s adorable!
I, personally, would prefer that Windstone judge quests like this one where there were specific weighted aspects. If it’s just a beauty pageant, then I’m ok with people just voting on what they like. If it turns into a popularity contest, that’s too bad, but whatever. I’m glad mine didn’t make it to the finalists, because I can then feel like I didn’t win because there were better options rather than feeling like being back in high school.
As for people being motivated to being honest about their opinions rather than it being a popularity contest because the winner might just be painted, I think that’s not a good motivator. Realistically, the people who entered were fine with their scheme being used as inspiration, so you have the implied consent to use all of them, even the people who didn’t win or even make the final cut. And winning doesn’t guarantee the use of the design. Realistically, at least a few of the designs really aren’t all that easy to duplicate by an in-house painter due to being very intricate, even if they are beautiful.
I guess, thinking about it harder, it might be best to leave judging to Windstone or do random draws.
I have 2 CB eggs: paper and lumina. I need the following:
CB influencable egg or female influenced olive (or female CB hatchi)
CB influencable egg or male influenced tsunami wyvern (or male CB hatchi)
CB blusang lindwurms (egg or hatchi, sex unimportant)–actually, I need 2 of theseI just picked the eggs up, so they can’t be traded yet, but let me know what you’d like to trade for which egg via PM. I might keep the lumina if I don’t get a good offer.
It might not be a mutation, but rather a result of an incomplete break of his tail. If the tail broke at some point, when it was attacked, but incompletely separated from it’s body, then it might have triggered the regeneration response and grown a new bit of tail while the old one was still attached. Cool.

New yellow banner at log in:
“This address already appears in your address book. A new address was not added.”
I don’t know what this is–it’s the first time it’s appeared, and I didn’t do anything but log in.
Love the kirin! And your feathers are so incredibly amazing.

I don’t know. I think there are a lot of reasons people do it, some of which I can understand, some of which I can’t. Sometimes it’s getting caught up in the moment and realizing you’ve paid more than you should. Sometimes it’s just timing where you find you really want that next piece more than the first. Sometimes it’s a person who just enjoys having something new, and uses the older pieces to fund their new pieces (and sometimes they don’t make it out of the box before they’re “old” pieces). Honestly, there are a few, I’m sure, that are the victims of addiction.
I can’t say that it matters to me so much as that I’m jealous of those that can purchase an ebay piece without batting an eye. I’m even jealous of those who scrimp and save to get one, just one, ebay piece. The fact is, until and unless I make a lot more money than I do, I simply can justify a huge chunk of change up front. And THAT is why I can’t be too jealous. The price of those pieces generally only goes down. AND, while ebay transactions require all that cash up front, when they’re resold on this forum, sometimes you can make payments on them, making them not only more affordable overall, but more attainable due to smaller payments over time. I got my only ebay piece by paying in smaller payments (though, alas, it wasn’t less than the original owner paid).
I do have to shake my head sometimes, but overall, even if I don’t understand, the original purchasers make the ebay pieces more attainable to the rest of us.

Is it OK to flip the drawing so it’s facing left and then color it?
I have issues with coloring/drawing things that face the right.Huh. Me too. I wonder why?
Oh, I forgot to mention this centipede I saw one time in high school at my dad’s house. It crossed the size threshold. And it was fast with really, really long legs. I stepped on it…and it’s legs continued to move…on either side of my shoe. Ugh.
I like most bugs, but I have a list of “icky” ones. I dislike ticks and leeches…the thought of something attaching for any meaningful amount of time while sucking my blood gives me the willies. Mosquitoes, on the other hand, are ok. Just annoying. Roaches–well, I’d never seen a live one until I moved to Minnesota. Back in SD, they just didn’t exist. The closest thing were boxelder bugs, which I despise and will go on a stomping rampage if I find them. It’s not that they freak me out, just gross me out. Oh, and there’s a size threshold that bugs should really not cross. Big bugs, fine. Giant bugs (like the ones on that one scene in Indiana Jones), not so fine. I’d have to be pretty sure they weren’t going to bite or something before I touched it. Not that that makes any sense. Dragonflies will bite (and hard), but I am still fascinated with them.
HUGE HUGE HUG! I’m so sorry, Kaytana. Take some time for yourself. Figure out an outlet. Be good to you.
The boyohs definitely need a rundown of what’s happening. They’re old enough to figure things out, themselves, but it’s better that they don’t have to. They may even be old enough to understand. Be plain and honest. Don’t call their dad names, but don’t hide the fact that this is hurting you through no fault of your own. You might even ask them what THEY think is going on. (My suspicions lie toward another woman, honestly.) They will also need to know that they will be needing to make some decisions very soon. The judge WILL want to hear from them. And even if he doesn’t, they’re old enough to have input. They can’t stop this train wreck, but they can make choices that will help them survive it. They need to be prepared.
