I do (did?) some, kinda like Wolfen, do the top on the machine and the rest by hand. I recently got a walking foot for my machine, so maybe when I can find the space and time (what is this ‘free time’ people speak of :p ) i can try again. 😀
I love the lavender Dream on the Flegie!
(curses havng no monies… :X )I’m still hoping that someday you will produce those Reindeer candle holders 😀
I’ve VERY glad to see the end of 2011 since it was a very rough year for me. :tired:
My Resolutions 😀
– Amongst the craziness that is school and work, I’m going to try to do at least a half hour of artistic creative stuff a day
– I’ve also been going through all of my projects that are in various states of completion and am making a list of what needs to be done with each. My resolution is that I am going to FINISH these before I get started on anymore projects.
– And of course the big resolution for the year is to do well in my classes, Graduate H) and find a good job so I can get on with my life
Talk to one of the homeless people. That can actually be extremely interesting. Do be mindful though. Not all, but many, people who live on the streets have some personal problems. So be aware of your boundaries and personal space. I have had some amazing conversations with homeless men and women. Their stories are usually as fascinating as they are sad.
I have a weeny whine.
Been very mindful of being “PC” and wishing people a Happy Holidays this season. Every single person I’ve said “Happy Holidays!” to has responded with “Merry Christmas to you too!” And after all the rants I’ve been reading online about how people don’t CARE what other people say, I was just starting to think it was silly.
So I went to pick up an art print from a local artist as a gift for my mom, and as I thanked her for meeting up with me, I just went “ah fuggit” in my head and told her to “have a Merry Christmas!”
Her response?
“Thanks, and Happy Holidays to you too.” (emphasis hers)

I feel your pain. People can be so touchy about such a little deal.
We had a news story here about whether to say happy holidays or what not with views from various other (non Christian) religious leaders and they all advised everyone to simply accept whatever was said in the SPIRIT INTENDED. It completely negates the spirit of the season if you get touchy about it.
Funnily enough the group of people we had at work that wished us all Merry Christmas the most was the Muslim group and they don’t celebrate Christmas!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!
(of course Santa is real… 😀 )Interesting….
Though I grew up with parents who use basic colour terms (red, blue, green etc) but I use a whole other slew of color terms. All of us kids (4 of us) use other color terms, but I by far have the widest variety. I can provoke quite the reaction when I correct my mum who thinks all blues are either light, regular or dark, when I call something ‘blue’ Midnight, teal, cyan, cerulean, etc 😀The Gallery looks great! I can’t wait to see the rest of the pics in there too 😀
WANTS that Black Sparkle fox
Just noticing though… it tells me that there are double the number of pics in each gallery that there actually are ie: it says that there are 6 images of Fledgies but there are actually only three. :~
Yay! Im done with class unitl the new year and have a whole week to do nothing in, okay not really nothing. I have to get some costume designs and speacialty props done, but at least I don’t have to be up before dawn so I can get to class (which also starts before dawn) 😀
Also got a big happy surprise for my birthday yesterday. My family decided they would all pitch in and get me a new laptop! 😀 Which is beyond awesome since with school tying up all my money I didn’t think I’d be able to afford one for another two years. My current one is ancient, almost twelve years old, runs Windows ME, doesn’t have USB ports and takes 15min to boot up :Sp
There are some gorgeous pieces there and LOL at the obnoxiously brilliant oriental 😀 I really like the idea of the orientals or anything with a globe (or egg 😉 ) having a stone one. One of the Spectrals or cough, Garden Dragon, cough with Moonstone or Labradorite eyes would be spectacular (hey, I can dream 😉 ) I really hope that the Guinea Pig gets the red no pupil eyes, I like them much better on the Hades like pieces. Much more sinister 🙂
I’m not going to bother whining. All my monies are tied up with school for the next year or so, but then hopefully I will have an awesome job and can afford Windstone pretties again 😀
Thank you letting us see the sneak-a-peaks and for being so wonderful Pam!
The Canadian Brass is great and it’s good to hear that someone asides from us Canadians think so 😀
Here’s the website fro people to check them out!Another group that you might like to check out are the a capella group ‘The Heebee Jeebees’. We had them at the concert hall here last night and they are great singers, but also like to throw comedy into their stuff. 😀
http://www.heebee-jeebees.com/YAY! You’re almost there! Just think how good it will feel when you graduate!

I’m very much looking forward to mine and hopefully check the mailbox every morning even though I *know* that if it’s coming from the States it will be mid weekish at the earliest before it gets here :p
For those who didn’t do extra goodies or fancy wrappings, don’t fret about it! I know for me the fact that I’m getting a handmade ornament and the thought and effort that goes into them is the big prize
For next year maybe drawing the names the first week of November? That gives us a few weeks to get our stuff done in the ‘down time’ between Halloween and Christmas craziness 🙂
December 16, 2011 at 6:34 pm in reply to: HOLIDAY ORNAMENT SWAP 2011- SHIP BY DECEMBER 8TH!! #865893Awww, no worries fairyhearted. I’m sure your swapee will be very understanding of the lateness and will appreciate what they receive just the same. *HUGS to you and your family*
Mine is out late as well, and my swapee should get their package either Saturday or Monday I think. I wasn’t happy with what I originally had and redid when I got back from MA (they feel more appropriate and I learned how to do them while on my training trip one evening, but didn’t have the materials!), plus I’ve just been busy and family has just kept piling more to do on (the brother just sits like a bump on a log *sigh*).
I received my lovely ornament from foxfeather yesterday! It’s inspired by the season and the winter solstice. Snow and little stars inside, with holly for good fortune and bells to ward off misfortune. There were some other candy cane ornaments added and some very yummy chocolate I’ve never tried before (Moritz Icy Squares – very creamy and tasty)! Thank you so much!
My mom opted for a silver tree this year (yes, think 50s with the color wheel), but since I now work from home, I have a wee little tree on the corner of my desk and I’m putting all the small ornaments I have that are handmade from school or from forum members that I have there. 🙂
I’ll update with a picture by Saturday. 🙂
Yay!!!
I’m glad you like it! -
