        Whine…

        I’m Exhausted and Overwhelmed :tired:

Between work being very busy and screwing around with the schedule, the young mountain of homework (2 research papers, 3 sets of forms and 2 Q&A papers) that I got on Monday and are all due Friday, which is causing my anxiety to flare up, leaving me in tears at least 3 times in the last week, add in that my practicum advisor is no longer with the school and apparently did no work on looking for a practicum for me and I have to meet with the new guy now and basically start over (Practicum is supposed to start in mid-September), have had two major family emergencies and am maybe getting 4 hours of sleep a night. I haven’t had a day where I haven’t had to do something for either school or work or deal with some family crisis in over 3 months.

I feel like I’ve run head first into a brick wall and with only a few months left of class then 2 months of practicum I really don’t feel like I can get through all this and just want to crawl under the covers cry and hide from the world.

          I’m loving these pics! πŸ˜€

I’m getting excited about mine (my first grab bag anything), though he’s got a long trip ahead of him and it will be the end of the month before he gets here.

            End of summer/start of fall
I’m swamped with school work (no summer break for me) until at least the end of summer, so wouldn’t have the time to participate.

Those are great photos! I love seeing the travelling dinosaur exhibits, it’s neat to see all the dinosuars you’ve only read about in books πŸ˜€

If you like dinosaur vactions then you need to come visit up here. The Royal Tyrell Museum of Paleontology is about an hour west
(ish) of me and it’s awesome! πŸ˜€

Its the May long weekend which is upposed to mean H-O-L-I-D-A-Y but I’m going to be stuck pulling a couple of double shifts at work and buried under 4 projects, a research project, group project and studying for my final next friday. :tired:

snowing?? where are you from where it’s snowing? it was like 80 degrees where i live! i can’t imagine having snow so late in the year!

 Western Canada, Foothills of the Rocky Mountains. It’s completely normal to get snow at this time of year, its actually when we get some of our biggest dumps of snow because there is finally moisture in the air but its still not quite warm enough to just rain (though we get a lot of rain too). It never lasts too long though, the snow we got yesterday is gone this morning. You don’t put plants out until after May long weekend, since that’s when it’s supposed to stop freezing at night, though it’s almost guaranteed that it will rain or snow that weekend. I could really scare you and say that we’ve even had snow in July…. πŸ˜€

80 degrees? We won’t see that until mid July-ish and then every one wilts because its to hot! LOL

                    LOL drag0n!!

About half of mine are out, they live on various bookcases, shelves and other flat surfaces with various other toys, books and stuff. At one point they were all out but the place I’m in now I don’t have the room! I’m looking forward to getting my own place (after school and finding a job) so they can all live free

This is my first whole year with a yard. Irises are my favorite flower and although the big ones don’t seem to be inclined to bloom this year, the dwarf ones did. πŸ™‚

Pansies that just grow wild here:

The Canadian chokecherry tree. How I wish these lasted longer. I love the fragrance.

                        Thanks for looking. πŸ™‚

Love your Irises! They are one of my favorite flowers too. I have some giant purple ones that are happily taking over their flower bed and some dwarf purples that have taken over their bed πŸ˜€ I also have some Blacks and Reds that I started a couple of years ago that are slowly starting to multiply πŸ˜€

Your chokecherry tree… does it have tiny black berries that are poisonous?
We have a type of tree like that that we call a mayday tree and it’s flowers smell heavenly! I wish there was a perfume that smelled like that. πŸ™‚

I envy all of you right now. πŸ™
The neighbors have a couple of tiny blue things up and I have some daffodils that are threatening to bloom but it will be a while before we get any real amount of flowers. Probably closer to June, it still freezes at night here!
I did however get quite the surprise this year. There is a single tulip growing in the middle of the lawn, several feet from any flower beds that have tulips. Darn squirrels. 😐

From what I remember from when I verified my paypal (years ago) is that you reach a spending limit per month, anything over that is what they want verification for or if you don’t it means that you can’t use paypal until next month.

The verification is basically proving that you have money to spend on things and are not wasting the sellers (or paypal’s) time with charges that will have to be reversed

Many of the forum members (again years ago) had set up a separate mini account strictly for paypal and verification. If you are worried about it that could be a route to go.

*** AM NOT STARTING AN ARGUMENT HERE! ***
(I put this up because it’s hard to tell tone on the internet and I am not saying this to upset anyone!)

While I agree that letting them have your banking info is a bit scary, consider this. If your employer direct deposits into your bank account, they technically have access to your account. The same for Credit cards. And credit card companies are definitely for profit πŸ˜‰ Heck, all banks are for profit institutions! I recently went through a fight with VISA for them taking money from my account, and not even an account that was attached to the credit card! It is important to check your account regularly so that you can spot strange things or things you don’t agree with immediately. There is just as much risk of there being a credit card skimmer at the mall to steal you info or there have been instances here of skimmers in ATMs and bank machines! I actually keep a spread sheet of the money I spend/withdraw from my bank account and check it at least every couple of weeks (usually payday since that’s a good reminder! πŸ™‚ )

Here all institutions have to justify WHY they are taking funds out of your account (an you have every right to call them and ask for an explanation!) and you can fight (and win) with them. 99% of all financial institutions and people that have access to your account are honest and yes glitches and accidents happen (that was the first time in 20 years that I’ve had any issue with VISA), but 99% of that time they are remedied. There is that 1% that makes every one look bad.

Just something to think about! πŸ˜€

This is Canada’s new coin . They are no longer doing the one with the Elk on it . It’s one for used by people as legal tender .

It’d be kinda cool if they were going into circulation but they are kinda like artist edition Windstones; they’re too fancy to be production pieces.

Here’s some of the “limited edition” circulation coins that I have collected recently:(I think these are some of the coins scenceable and foxfeather mentioned)

Oooo, I haven’t seen the Parks Canada quarters yet. Is the top quarter the Orca or Kestrel?

The loonie and twoonie on top of each other are the 100th Anniversary Parks Canada coins and the other is one of the infamous ‘Lucky Loonies” from one of the Olympic years πŸ™‚

Yes, polymer bills are supposed to be more durable and harder to counterfeit, but we already have people figuring out ways to rip them and complaining about it. I figure it’s like when the twoonie came into circulation, some of the middles would pop out (especially in cold climates) and everyone got excited that the coins were ‘defective’ and we should have our old paper bills back. I like the twoonie, you can think you’re broke and then open up your change purse and be rich! πŸ˜€

But, like FoxFeather said we do enough crazy things with our money. I really like the discontinuing the penny idea, glad they’re putting that in. The plastic money is really awesome too. I think the lady at the bank said small bills would all be plastic by 2013. For now we just have the $100 and $50. Now our bills are colourful AND have the see through plastic window thing. I like them, they’re so shiny πŸ˜›

They are pretty and feel kinda funny after so many years of paper bills. I worked a casino last night and discovered they’re also slippery little suckers. You really had to pay attention when counting out the things πŸ˜€

It was fun working retail when the coins sets would hit circulation (olympic, provinces, etc.) everyone would be sorting through their change at the end of the shift looking for the special coins πŸ˜€ We even had some customers asking us if we had the special coins in our change.
