I love the red fox! I’m hoping he will be available for Christmas!
Would love to see the cats in production too 😀That’s funny Foxfeather 😀
When Amber was about six years old,she had the worst Halloween, bless her little heart.I managed to get her all “Princessed”up with a little crown, wand, the works. It turned into a freezing, wind driven sleety night and the poor baby had to run from the car to the homes and couldn’t show off her darling costume because she was all bundled up.It broke her heart that year and I still feel bad for her.I trully don’t see how you guys handle that kind of weather every year.brrrrr.It’s what you get used to.
The worst year I can remember was the one with nearly 12 inches of snow and -20*C (-4*F) plus the windchill taking it down to -25*C/-30*C (-13*F/-22*F). My siblings and I still went out but only got a block at a time before we had to come home and warm up (my poor dad 😛 ) We got TONS of candy that year cause everyone felt sorry for us… 😛Good Luck to everyone! All these photos are AWESOME!
(I don’t envy those who have to make the choices  )HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!
It’s cool and windy here but the plus is no snow!!!
I remember numerous years wearing a snowsuit under my costume and trudging through the drifts but wasn’t going to give up… there was CANDY out there! :bigsmile:Okay, So I’ve been either busy with school and work or it’s been wet, cold and crappy out, bleh :tired: So here a a couple of oldies that I like. 🙂 I hope these are big enough and work or someone can help me out if it doesn’t (I suck at this computer stuff and miss the old IMG tag)
Tree Dragon
PYO Dragon Painted by KoishiiKitty in my crab apple tree
Camouflage
Little Rock Dragon in the Irises
I’ve got a few more ideas to try out so maybe I’ll get that third one in
*edit2 – I figured it out! (and thanks to Hannah’s how to thread  )
For all the parents here…
Baking soda and water will take Sharpie Marker off of a wood door and not destroy the finish (found this out when my niece got a hold of one and ‘decorated’ mums front door)
A bit of lighter fluid on a rag (do this OUTSIDE) will take sharpie marker off of plastic
Those stubborn yellow stains under the armpits…
***Do this in a well ventilated place
1 cup of powder dishwasher detergent,
1 cup of bleach
5 – 6 gallons of hot water
Mix everything together and add stained whites. Swish and squish the laundry around to wet it all wet. Leave for anywhere from 1hr to overnight. Remove items and Wash laundry as normal.
Can be done in your laundry sink, bath tub, a big bucket or even in the tub of the washer (but not in front loaders.)
DO NOT USE ON COLORED FABRICS!If you hate Febreeze…
in a spray bottle combine 1 part plain vodka and 1 part water. Works as a deodorizer on practically any fabric surface and leaves no scent. Why iron when you can steam the wrinkles out of your clothing! And you don’t need an expensive steamer.
– Hang your clothes up in the bathroom when you have a hot shower
– Put your wet item (make sure it can go in the dryer first!) in the dryer for 2-3 minutes, just enough to get warm, then hang to dry.Just my couple of pennies…
Apoxie Sculpt – I like it but would recommend working with it in small batches otherwise it starts to cure and get hard before you’ve finished what you’re doing. Once it’s hard it’s almost impossible to carve or sand.
Critter Clay – Made by Aves studio and behaves like regular clay but is air dry. As long as you keep it moist though it won’t dry until fully exposed to air
Crayola Model Magic – Is fun stuff. It’s light weight shapes pretty well Though it’s not so good for details. I’ve used it for the base of some of my stuff and they done the details with Apoxie Sculpt
Have a great time and take lots of pictures! 😀
Micheals Craft Stores have them, especially at this time of year. 😉 I also got all of my colored ones on ebay for really cheap something like 5 years ago and they all still work!
I love the LED candles! No heat, last forever and if you forget about them it’s no big deal 😀
I have a bunch of colored ones as well as the normal amber and white. My pine tree is full of floating lights at halloween 😀Do you think they’d work for Windstone sculptures, Jennifer? I’m about to do a cross-country move and I can’t fit them all in the car so I have to pack several pieces with no original boxes well enough to withstand movers.
Thanks!
Maybe!! Probably not for really pointy bits, such as horns, or pieces that jut out deeply (thinking the emp’s tail here) but otherwise they would probably be better than nothing.
Maybe it would work for things like the Emps tail if you used more than just two of the packs?
Another possible solution for custom windstone cushions…
That sprayfoam in a can that is used for windows and such that you get at home improvement stores sprayed into bags, in sections (for removal), around a wrapped windstone. The sprayfoam will take pretty much any shape but it might get expensive. Maybe drag0nfeathers could weigh in on that option? *shrug*Ohhh dichroic globe eyes with distressed metal paint job. :exmark:
Oooo!!!!! Please??? *puppy eyes*
I’m still sad that she won’t be a garden dragon, I’ve known exactly where she would sit in my garden since I saw the preview pic of her years ago. But seeing her made as a production piece, stone, distressed metal pretty much anything would be awesome!
I like the spectral eyes but would have to save up for her regardless of which eyes you choose.PS – Could we see a pic of her with Spectral eyes? 🙂
Pink Emps would be lovely! (not that a could afford them but I’d still like to see… 😀 I’d REALLY love a pink Fledge! Please please please?
I don’t see a problem with a pink male dragon. I see tons of business men downtown wearing pink shirts and ties these days and at a friends wedding the groomsmen all had pink shirts!
Trivia – It’s only been since about WWII that pink has been considered strictly a ‘girl’ color. 😉I woke up to the radio saying that a plane had crashed into one of the towers and at first didn’t believe it and turning it on to the news just in time to see the second plane crash :(( My teacher at the time was from New York and was visibly rattled when we arrived for class but had been able to get in contact with her loved ones.
While it was terrible and traumatic for Americans (and Canadians) what I choose to remember is how the first responders didn’t stop to think. They all raced in to save peoples lives even though they knew it could and did cost them theirs. I think it really brought home how much danger first responders put themselves in daily for us. I also choose to remember the good it the face of the tragedy. Speaking as a Canadian, all the flights that were diverted into other airports and how everyone came together to make sure that the stranded had a place to stay, food etc. Our Airport was given a plaque yesterday for taking in 16 flights and everyone making sure that the stranded travelers had a place to stay. And there is the tale of a flight that was diverted to a small Newfoundland airport and with no hotels available the town stepped up and took stranded travelers into their homes until they were able to continue their journey.
Our Philharmonic Orchestra (I work at the concert hall) had an open invitation to all first responders in the city to attend the concerts free of charge this weekend.
