What are the odds of getting Hippocampus before Christmas? I would really love to get a blank for someone as a gift, but would like to know if I should be looking for something else, no pressure meant from this post, just wondering what course of action to take, lol
This is Melody ( logged in as Drupaldragon again) We’ve got about 40 or so hippocamps cast and ready , and just got the pads, so they will be available pretty soon. Just need to stamp the pads and get boxes made.

Cuz this happened.
The 3rd came while I was working out a deal to sell my 2nd one and was later traded. The 4th came this morning before I left to take the 2nd/3rd to the post office. I had to repackage stuff cuz I really wanted to take a pic of this lol. I was totally shaking my head.
And these all came straight from the store! My mind is blown.

Will the safari ones come out before the hoppy ones? Or will they come out together? So excited to see them!
Some are the same, but some aren’t. There’s numbats, okapis and giraffes in this batch.
Ah, man. I was REALLY going to try and resist this batch in order to keep saving for the young unis. Temptation, temptation…..
European and American badgers, black footed ferrets… a cuscus, zebra duiker…a boar piglet…
oncillas and margays, quaggas…and something I am not sure what it is, I think it is a striped possum..So do sneak peek pictures come with those descriptions? 😉

Yes please! I would be ALL over that as well! :love: I’d buy my weight worth in hoppy young poads if I could manage it, lol.
I think if young poads are chosen the dart frog or safari / natural pattern would be perfect since they would match the recent releases of the baby poads and tadpoads. I have seen lots of the feathers and leaves and something different would be really cool. Not sure if those patterns would be more pricey or not though.
I would also love to see the tanuki in red panda….although I think almost any sculpt is adorable in red panda pattern 🙂I am also curious as to the time frame for the young unicorns? I know the painting would probably take a while, especially if it is intricate and detailed. Then the naming and packing etc. I would love love to get one but as with so many need to save up and of course with Christmas coming that is near to impossible.
I love poads myself but have had some listed for a while that no one will even trade for or buy so if people wanted poads I think they would be selling faster. The adult poads aren’t even selling for what people paid for them. Secondary market prices reflect demand so I think prices are a good indication of how popular an item is and if it will sell or not!
Not true with one of a kind pieces. In almost every batch, I see pieces that are highly popular and pieces that are not popular at all. I had a Colt up for sale/trade for almost a year from the day that I got it with no bites on it at all while other people’s colts were selling and trading like hotcakes. When it comes to one of a kind pieces, you simply cannot gauge the popularity of something by looking at a few pieces that you personally have for sale. It may just mean the pattern on them is not something others want.
You’re so right, Hannah. Secondary market is not a good indication of the direction a company should take with production. There are always a few odd pieces from every grab bag batch that either get snapped up as soon as they’re up for sale / trade or alternatively get left lingering on the shelf so to speak. I still have a tadpoad from two batches ago that I just couldn’t find a home for so I’ll probably give it to someone for Christmas.

What patterns and colors seem to be most popular? Which colors are unpopular?
Taste in patterns and colors seems to vary so widely!I really like the fantasy colors and the safari patterns like tiger, leopard and zebra.
What I paint next will depend on what we have a good supply of.
Looking at the carts of stuff we have, I see we don’t have many baby unicorns right now. We do have LOTS and LOTS of poads, maybe enough young unicorns for a batch of 100 or so… lots of pebble things of various species, and a whole cart crammed full of … hmm, maybe these will work… haven’t done a grab bag edition of these things yet…Talk about a cliffhanger…. :p

That’s not necessary! Though they do end up being expensive, I think the last ones were something like $350. That is why I prefer the less spendy pieces, but if you guys want young unicorns, I’ll do em!
I am absolutely down for a more expensive young – Seeing the older batches it is abundantly clear why they cost more and are worth every penny!
I would love to see young and baby unicorns. Although my budget probably would like the babies more. I know the young ones are super gorgeous and worth it though. The second hand market for both those sculpts are so high right now.

They relisted it and somewhat changed the wording. They need to just stop…it’s so bad.
