Been a while since I updated this thread. I am still open for repairs.

I just sent off a Black Male Griffin, several stone finish pieces (Arc Candlelamp, Wolf Council, Parliament of Owls) and a Brown Rising Spectral with clearcoat damage I restored along with several other small odds and ends. (a test hatching baby dragon needed paint restorations on the egg and a curlie with a few dings) Currently my house is almost empty! (which is exciting)

Currently working on a Ruby Lap that arrived in 3 pieces (body, wings and head all detached) and that’s about 70% complete. I also finished a long-time project of a large white wizard that’s been sitting on the back shelf for about 2 years. He’s currently available for adoption if anyone is interested.

I do have a large project on the way but it’s not a rush job so that will keep me busy in the downtime until I receive more repairs.

I know I’m late here but despite Windstone suggesting Elmers (because it soaks into the gypsum for a decent hold) I find it doesn’t do the job for breaks like this. I use Loctite Super Glue GEL (it has to be the Gel in the blue and black bottle) I’ve fixed 3 broken grands with it and so far all are still standing!

I can answer this question with a solid no. Once the gypsum is cast and hardened it cannot be turned back into a liquid and re-poured to make a new PYO (if that was the question) a broken PYO might be able to be repaired with apoxie sculpt or some other sculpting medium that is similar in nature to gypsum though.

I have experienced “pressure marks” on more than one occasion from the polypropylene bags being almost melted into the clearcoat of dragons. This takes a long time of being stored in their boxes. I don’t know if its heat, humidity, or that in combination with pressure and time. I’ve noticed it especially happen on Peacock, Emerald, White, and original brown (ESPECIALLY original brown, not the old ones but the ones painted later like the Riser, Spectral, Lap Scratcher, Old Warrior, Hatching Royalty etc) Not the original Male, Mother, and Hatching baby.

The folds in the bags create what look like dents in the clearcoat and though the bags don’t stick to the piece it deforms the clearcoat. I’ve had to fix it many times by lightly sanding the deformities, trying like heck not to accidently sand off the paint, and then re-clearcoat the whole piece. I’ve had it happen to my pieces after roughly 2 years of storage, but I’ve had others stored just as long it doesn’t happen to. It’s very bizarre.

Well we are into May now. I finished my repair trade, and also did a large scale repair job for a lovely person in Canada and all those pieces have since been picked up.

As of right now I have two test male griffins I’m fixing. One is the Chukar I did some work on a few months ago that has jumped a few owners but got some transit damage. That is finished as of yesterday and the other I am still waiting for it’s arrival.

Well, I showed the photo of the pony corns because I thought I was done painting this batch, and they were very close to being done. -but from the reaction to these, this batch needed to be bigger. I had to wait for more ‘corns to be cast and that moved the finish line. I am painting more now.

It’s safe to say whenever you think you have enough, just double it! LOL!

As an update to my previous post, there is now a negative feedback submission and more to soon follow. Several people have received pieces to find they were painted on after the fact. Autumn Harvest is the next color on the list of tests that have these changes so just be aware when you buy from that seller to carefully look at all the photos and compare them to the original auction photos by checking the ebay auction picture thread where Gardeninja kindly lists each auction as it is listed on ebay.

It may do some members good to review the Negative feedback list for new 2024 submissions… There has been a member altering test paints and not disclosing these alterations and selling them as “new condition”

Specifics can be found on the list, however there are 2 other members with pending disputes against the same seller who promise to leave additional feedback once their Paypal cases are resolved. If anyone needs specifics please reach out to me directly.

I have seen photos of test paints that this seller modified by painting on them and adding additional gold highlights. Check the photos in this listing very carefully if you plan to bid!

Unfortunately, this seller has modified MANY tests including several Stormscale, Tiger Berry, and potentially others… examine whatever you get from them very closely. I’ve gotten several complaints already, but so far nobody has actually filed a negative feedback as of yet. Just an FYI for those here.
