I’ve been collecting since I was probably 12 or 13 years old when I saw my first Windstone at the “Dragon’s Lair” which was an old brick and mortar location way back when we would go out and buy stuff like this at collectors shops (as opposed to now which is mostly off the internet). I would scrape and save and now 30 years later I think I have well over 1000 pieces in my collection! It’s been a lifetime obsession of mine and even though I don’t make much money annually (only about 50K a year) I still manage to get a hold of recent tests once in a while as the popularity has grown over the years. I’ve collected during the highs and the lows and no company values their customers more then Windstone Editions and the wonderful staff within! I’m so happy they have grown so much over the years and demand has kept this little niche collector’s group alive and prospering for many years when many similar communities trying to survive on luxury artworks have fizzled due to economic strain.

I’ve personally met probably about a dozen or so members in person over the years and developed a lot of beloved relationships. Many of my close friends I met on the group here back in the day and we’ve since somewhat migrated to Facebook… but even before the forum there was Elfwood where I first encountered Melody online and she is a true peach and as talented as they come! I even got the opportunity to visit and paint a couple of pieces that were sold on eBay as test paints during my visit. (this is about a decade back) and it was a true dream come to life and I can’t say enough wonderful positive things about my experience with the Pena household and their family.

Update time! It’s been a while.

Working on my 1st major repair on a Secret Keeper. I’ve repaired minor things on them before, but this one had a really bad time so that will be an on and off again project since I’ll be the new owner when it’s all done.

Currently in queue are a Gothic Unicorn with the front legs broken off and badly reglued. Also has chips on all hooves. This is about 80% complete. Just need to color match some of the fur and finish blending the shadows on the hooves. This is the 1st repair I’ve done for Tracie Rowe so hoping she will be pleased with the final result.

After that I have a Young Unicorn, Peacock Hatching Baby Dragon Version 1, and Brown Male Dragon that was a local drop off from a repeat customer. I’ll get those done before they are back from their vacation in a few weeks.

On the way (probably to be delivered tomorrow) Are an Emerald Sitting Spectral and a Rainbow Male Dragon from Mary Wine.

Melody was working on an adult male qi-lin about 8 years ago but she wasn’t happy with him. Other projects seem to have taken priority since then.
