That was a totally charming video. Thanks for posting it! 🙂
I got my unicorn today and it’s a beautiful little buckskin with zebra points. I really like this little one, but I had my heart set on a bongo (or similar), so I’ll be putting it up for trade. There’s a good chance that I might just decide to keep it though.
Added note: My mother has decided to put her baby tapir GBB up for trade as well.
Seeing everyone’s unicorns is driving me nuts with anticipation! Even the ones that I didn’t think I would like are amazing. 😀
I hope mine comes tomorrow, along with my mother’s, which will be her first Windstone (let’s see if I can get her hooked ;)). I’ve got my fingers crossed for an oryx or bongo… or cheetah or wild dog, etc. lol. 🙂
Darn it, and I was high bidder so far. :(. Sigh…hope y’all can fix him!
I was just waiting for Bullsquid to jump all over it.
I just saw that the auction was pulled this morning was like, “What?! NOOOO!”
He was such a beauty. I ‘d probably love him even with green stains. *makes puppy-dog eyes* Please don’t send him and his sister to camp! I’m sure someone *coughmecough* could give them a good home.
That indigo mother ki-rin is beautiful. Reminds me of the “black sea” mother ki-rin from a few months ago, which I also loved.
It’s too bad about the pewter issue; I would love to see the entire ki-rin family done like this as an LP.
I was so lucky that I was able to snag one. I just woke from my pre-work (nightshift) nap, and decided to check my email, not really expecting them to have gone into the store so late.
I saw the In Stock notification email and was dismayed for a second, thinking that they would be sold out for sure. But there were 4 left! In the <2 minutes it took me to complete my order, the rest sold out. If I had checked my email even a minute later…
I'm so stoked for this batch. I love animal print and earthy colors, so these babies are perfect!
I am generally not a fan of the white colors, but the ivory just looks awesome, like shed snake skin! It’s especially cool if you think about it like the babies just really hatched, and so their real colors aren’t showing until the blood starts circulating, like butterfly wings!
I see I wasn’t the only person reminded of snake skin by that ivory emperor. I would love to see hatching royalty in ivory.
As promised, here are pics of the mahogany emperor. 🙂 As Hannah mentioned, his colors are tricky to photograph. In the bright sun, the metallics really show like crazy! Dark red looks ultra bright and plum grey shines purple.
Check out his metallic chest!
These indoor shots how off his colors more accurately.
I also got this red-eyed CP oriental recently. What the outdoor photo doesn’t show is that individual scales and scale clusters have been picked out in different shades of copper. It’s a really subtle, beautiful effect that you can see more in the second pic.
I know LupusLunae basically covered this, but who doesn’t love more pictures? 🙂
Outdoors
Indoors, flash and no flash
Indoors, near a window
And I agree with drag0n, spectrals would look AMAZING in emerald color shift paint.
Oh Hannah, that mahogany male looks great!
*rubs hands with anticipation*
I can’t wait for “his royal highness” to arrive (see sig). 😛 I’ll be sure to take lots of pictures. 🙂
Traded, thanks.
I’d be stoked for either GB wolves or unicorns. If you choose unicorns, Melody, then my vote would be for a mix of normal and mild fantasy, including wild animal patterns.
Pretty antelope unicorns, anyone? 🙂
Aha! You snagged that Kijiji BVP lap. Very nice. I saw the ad and thought, “Darn, I wish I lived closer.” I’m glad to see that it went to a good home. 🙂
Your photos of the lap and fledgling together made me notice for the first time how similar they look, in terms of scale placement, horns, face shape, etc. They definitely make for a nice family display.
*looks at mahogany emperor, screams, faints, regains conciousness*
I am seriously hyper-ventilating over that mahogany emp. I have been hoping for this so badly and now it finally exists. Thanks P.S.! 😀

I got her yesterday, but waited for some sunshine so I could get decent pics for her debut. 🙂 I plan on trying to trade her for a dragon or unicorn, but if that doesn’t work out I won’t mind. She’s really quite charming, and my mom loves her too!
