thanks…I tried to make the cheeks look different from yours, but they wanted to be mostly the same… 🙁 This thing fought me the whole way – took me about 3 or 4 times as long as it should have to paint! I hope you don’t mind that it looks similar to yours…

-J R R TolkienJust to give you some price reference – I got mine for $150, and the two I saw sell on ebay after him went for that or more. Just to give you an idea of what one might be worth, not that ebay is a great indicator. It seems to fluctuate an awful lot. 😕

-J R R TolkienHere is the griffin I’m trading for the fire bird griff she’s painting for me! She wanted something like Ski’s orange tabby, but with red eyes…it sort of started out that way, but parts of it definitely mutated away from that original pattern! Which is good, because I didn’t want it to be TOO close to Ski’s anyway.
He’s a lot darker than Ski’s, with a whole lot more red (in an attempt to balance with the red eyes.) There are mettalic red highlights at the base of his arms. His beak has interference gold on it so it shimmers a little, as do his wings. There’s a lot that doesn’t show up in the pictures cuz’ I didn’t get out to take them till late afternoon, but they give you the gist.
