Oh wow! I didn’t know you did commissions! I can’t afford anything now, but do you only do griffins, or do you do unicorns, kirins, dragons, etc. ?
Do you always do commissions?I have always done commissions, though as I said, that my change once Windstone starts selling things I’ve painted for them.
And I do do all the PYOs, not just the griffins. 😉"He that breaks a thing to find out what it is has left the path of wisdom."
-J R R Tolkienmmloda’s tiger is FINALLY DONE!! XD She was one of the first to get on the tabby tiger list and she’s had to wait this long to get her griffin – thanks again for your patience, hon, and I’m glad you think he was worth the wait! 😉
After the initial batch of tabby tigers, mmloda decided she wanted a regular tiger, so hers is different than the others I’ve done. He’s got the darker orange and darker stripes of a normal tiger, not the softer, diluted colors of the tabby tigers (which are a genetic anomoly.)
I’m still working on getting real true color correctness from my poor little incompetent camera, but these pics mostly show him off alright, though they’re a little dark. His wings are difficult to capture – they really aren’t yellow, but they have a glaze of interference gold over them so that they flash in the light. There is no black on this guy – the dark stripes are achieved by layer upon layer of darker and darker colors ending in a very dark, rich brown. There’s lots of coper in his base orange, so he has that subtle depth and irridecence that a living critter does.
P.S. …I’m painting again, finally. 😉 So if you’re on the tabby tiger list, or have another commission with me and are still interested in getting it, I am happy to work on it now. Just in time for christmas gifts, too! 🙂 I may also be able to start taking new commissions soon, depending on how many of the old tabby tiger people are ready for theirs now, so if you’re interested in having me paint something for you, let me know and I’ll see what I can do. (still don’t know if I’ll be able to sell on my own after I’m officially a Windstone painter, but I’m free at least until they start selling my pieces!)

-J R R TolkienWell I’m glad we aren’t the only ones – we only got about 5 trick or treaters this year! D: I’m hoping it’s just a bad year. We don’t know the neighborhood yet, so I don’t know if the turnout was typical. We do live on the very end of our street, so maybe the kids just don’t come down this way… I hope we get more next year!!
I didn’t dress up this year, but I did make a bunch of decorations with a few of our left over moving boxes, which was tons of fun. The tombstones are all characters from the book my husband is writing, as is the cat (well, he’s sort of a character, kind of…) The big jackolanterns are cardboard cut outs with tissue paper and candles behind them. We carved pumpkins, too – I usually spend most of halloween day doing pumpkins, but I was still busy with the tombstones so I just hashed out two quickies at the last second. I hope we get more kids next year!!!

No idea – sorry! >_0 I know that getting set up at the new factory is a hard and long uphill battle… They haven’t unpacked much yet, and I don’t think the photo studio is up and running yet, either, so listing pieces on ebay has been a slow process. They’ll get there… eventually! 😉

I know thats not a fair trade 😀 but your Tiger Griffins are so gorgeousAw, it’s a fair trade! I just don’t have any that I can trade at the moment. 😉

-J R R Tolkienwell, I didn’t offer a PYO trade because I’m already backed up on what I need to paint for people.
I do hope she makes more…just not sure. She gets so many ideas for limited production stuff! The new things tend to overshadow restocking the old.

I would be willing to bet that you’d be fantastic at Duns, Buckskins and Dapples; I’m not a big flea bitten fan or I’d include that in the list.
Of note, who said it had to be a realistic coat?
It’s your wing work that I’m floored by. If you’ll notice, the feathers on the special released Pegasi get overlooked.
😀 Thanks! I’ve leaning pretty strongly towards a dapple gray for the mare I’ve got, and believe you me, I won’t be neglecting the wings. 😉

I don’t know…I have to remember what I actually have and what I want to get rid of! I know I’ve got a peacock old warrior and a white emperor in the wings waiting to be sold / traded…and a few ruby dragons… I know there are others, but I need to unpack them.

-J R R TolkienHey guys – anyone got a male spotted they’d like to sell or trade?? I’ve got a few pieces I could trade, though I have to take stock, most of them are still in boxes…or I’m fine paying plain ol’ money. Really want one of these – please PM me if anyone’s interested in selling one!
