My family of tiger griffins has finally been dug out of their box and have seen the light of day! John took pictures of them this morning and they should be going up on ebay later this week. 🙂 I think they’re putting the male griffin up first… They will each include one of my crummy sketches.

-J R R TolkienMelody said she already tried painting some sun dragons white and she hated them. >:( Those are the ones that became the buttered popcorn colored sun dragons that they sold on ebay a while back… I am very sad that I didn’t get to see them before they were buttered.
I’m casting the orientals, not the sun dragons or the young orientals. I don’t know where the molds are for the young orientals…
I’m going to fight hard to get her to do at least a limited run of the orientals in ruby to match the sun and the young – that set needs to be completed! And I’m sure she’ll be wanting to do a few other colors too. They are difficult to cast! I keep getting water streaks in their bellies, and they take a very very long time to clean up and finish.
We got our drying tunnel up today – it’s starting to look like the old factory again! 😀

-J R R TolkienI made a few oriental dragons today. 😀 I don’t know if they’ll actually get painted or go beyond the casting department, but it was sure exciting to see those come out of the mold.

-J R R TolkienI have people to train!! 😀 I made them do a lot of grunt work today. They are two very nice ladies named Wendy and Chris. And of course I have John (Susie’s son, not boss John) to help out, too. Tomorrow… I think we will be bold and I will have everyone try and pour.
Everything I’m pouring is turning out very well except the male dragons!!!! Arrrgh!!!
I made a perfect Female griffin today, though, on my first try with that mold. Maybe the male snow leopard griff can have a mate!

Well, the poison should work the fastest. It might stink the place up for a bit, though!
You obviously never saw the factory down in Hollywood. Cats everywhere! And birds and lizards and, well, dragons, but those don’t do a whole lot of wandering…

I love mice. But unfortunately I can’t tell them not to make icky nests in my clean molds… and more unfortunately I can’t tell them not to chew on my molds, which is tragic really because we as yet have no one to make more molds. NO CHEWING, MICE!! Who speaks mouseese?? We need a translater…
WE HAVE CAST… not a lot of variety. A few mother dragons, a few father dragons, some leaf cat sconces, some wolf councils and a mess of circle of cats candlelamps. Oh, and one PYO griffin. 🙂 I really need to find the molds to the PYO ki-rins… And the keeper PYO, though I’m just not sure a mold actually got made…

Well, today was pretty good. I got a lovely lady named Wendy to train a little bit. She spent most of the day scraping things – ugh, scraping!!! 😛 …Though I got to use the stone texture tool today, and that was lots of fun. Melody calls it a ‘pecker’. …Leave it to her…

BUT – today I managed to make the first decent castings that we’ve seen up here in Corvallis – HOORAY!! Things are looking up! 🙂

My silver brindle and snow leopard griffin #2 arrived safe and sound today and are absolutely gorgeous! Thank you so much Arlla! I’ll have to grab one of my parents’ cameras tomorrow to take pictures (since mine is on its last leg). I love him so much! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! 😀 8) 😀

I wasn’t sure how the idea I had for the scales would look, but I’m very happy with the result. I hope to do a few more pieces in the colors used on the scale – I modeled them on the colors of a turning leaf.
