I’ve noticed that too. Is it possible silver was used on older pieces, but now they print the tags in gold so newer ones would have gold tags?
The face and body of the Mama Peg look just like Buck, actually. 🙂 Either would be stunning though! I’m sorry I missed them the first time.
Me too, hon 🙁
If I’d have bought one I’d happily let you rehome it for me.
Every time I think I’ve seen it all you show me something new, girl. I can’t even believe how talented you are. His claws and scales look like they’d be dusty if you touched them, they’re so cracked and dry looking. You’re incredible. :jawdrop:
Hasn’t there been talk about making a buckskin Pegasus stallion? If your horse was a boy that might be more appropriate (and you might catch them when they come out in the store the first time and not have to wait for a restock)
Yes, in regards to the pegasus we are getting more for the ones we put in the store. Our intention is to put things in the store for what we think they are worth. In most cases this will probably be the same as what it would have sold for on ebay, or more. Even if it sells for the same as an ebay one, we will still make a profit because there are no ebay fees. To give you an idea, for every $14,000 we sell in ebay items, ebay charges us $1,400 in fees (so, roughly 10% of every ebay sale goes to ebay).
I would not want to ask over 400 for the special bay/buck pegs. We will also be putting other sculptures up, so I would like to keep prices somewhat relative to the size of the sculpt (to keep certain pieces from looking under or overpriced when being sold side-by-side with bigger or smaller sculpts).
At this time I dont think there is an automatic way to retract your offer. If you go to a peg you have made an offer for, there will be a link to view your past offers. You might be able to delete your offer from there. If not, you could email me or susie (ebay@windstoneeditions.com, susie@windstoneeditions.com) and ask to have your offer deleted.
Alright, so at this point it seems like a good way to go would be omit offers entirely when a piece is put in, then if it does not sell after a certain amount of time, take offers for a week or put it on ebay maybe?
That sounds about right. Again, I’m pretty darn confident that you’ll get whatever the asking price happens to be without even having to bother taking offers.
That’s a lovely story Kaytana 🙂 Lovely uni too.
What a nice thing she did for you. Friends always manage to surprise us with how much they care.Honestly, I hardly see the point of the “make an offer” feature. Chances are that people would be willing to pay more for an item than your BIN price is, so you’re really just giving items away for less than you could get ideally. I don’t feel like you’ll ever even have the chance to accept a best offer. All the pieces will be snapped up in a few seconds if you can just buy the thing outright rather than bidding.
I don’t know if you’re trying to maximize profit here, but just taking the Pegasus for example. I might have been willing to pay you $500 for that one that somebody just did a BIN on for $300. Is this what you were wanting to happen?
I’m not trying to sound like a scrooge, I’m just trying to understand exactly what it is you are aiming for here. :/
Those are both very striking. Love the detailing on both of them <3
Whats the story on the Emp? Totally curious! 🙂
Well, the story is a sad one honestly. Jennifer originally painted the emp, and a user that many people knew in the past, ddvm, bought him off of ebay. ddvm had cancer for a while, and she recently passed away. In her will, she designated that all the pieces Jennifer painted be sent back to her, so Jennifer got a lot of pieces back, including the emp. Jennifer wanted to do something in ddvm’s memory, so she has been listing these pieces on ebay and using the money to plant trees/donate to animal shelters. The emp was the first piece up on ebay and I won him. He was the piece I saw the very first day I joined this site, and the one that convinced me to start collecting windstones. He’s very special to me, and I love him dearly. I coveted him for so long, never imagining I’d actually get him.
Is there ANY chance of doing a limited run of baby stegs and triceratops? Kind of like with the bear cubs? I don’t care what color. 🙂
I’d love to see a special limited run of the old licking cats!
Same goes for the barn owl.
Could you guys crack out those molds for one last run? I want an owl so badly, but they’re basically out of circulation. I’ve never seen one the entire time I’ve been here. The small batch of barn owls we recently sold weren’t new castings, they were old “vintage” castings that were unpainted -so I finished them. We have no molds for them!
The only pieces of the “old line” we have made new molds for and re-cast are the 2 grizzly bear cubs, and the lion.Oh, that makes more sense.
Did you get the one that was on ebay, Amy?
Yep I did, though you knew that by now 😉
I guess I can go first this time 😉 I’ve gotten a few new pretties recently, so I thought I’d show the whole family as it exists now:
I’d appreciate this too. It would make PMing people far easier. If I want to message someone now I have to look for a thread I know they’ve posted in before and the find a post of theirs so I can click their name.
Don’t take my word on this because I have no idea, I’m just throwing it out there. Does anyone think that steam blasting it (perhaps with an iron) would kill the germs without ruining the remains?
Very nice. I love the crisp lines 🙂
