Hey everyone! A quick explanation because I take the blame for the arctic wolf and I have to tell you all what a sweetheart WC is!! Also, this too could be a learning tool 🙂 Many of you have already had something painted by her; I have to say that she is not only professional but majorly understanding!!

In brief, the confusion was between a picture I sent in email, along with a link – and google LOL I found an artist on the web after I googled arctic wolf, and used a link to one page of his work that had five or six wolf photo’s he’d taken. Turns out I didn’t read any captions under the pics, and I assumed they were all arctic (and only ONE was!). I didn’t look any further than those pictures because I’d found what I wanted – so while every communication to WC I have refers to arctic wolf, I was picturing the grey wolf – in winter – much darker on top and snowy white on the bottom 😡

I felt like a heel, a dork, a dimwit and all those things and WC immediately made me feel better about MY mistake. And, when she posted the step-by-step to the board here and I saw the wolf and as AMAZING as it is……it wasn’t my vision for what I wanted. Now look, she is starting OVER and bless her heart……

And, so my description of my vision included a darker wolf ontop, darker face – a snowflake on the nose (lol) and starting behind the foreleg on the bottom white of the wolf would become the white of the snow in my ‘triangular snowglobe’…….a river/waterfall/lake whatever would work, silhouette of a wolf, wolves, howling wolf, polar bear or whatever animal could be fit….and a certain aurora borealis at sunrise just as the sky starts to lighten up (a link to picture provided) and the stars are fading away, in the distance with tall thin spruce trees rising up and maybe a mountain. Now mind you, all this would be in a very small area from behind the front legs onto the rear haunch.

WC is going to perform a miracle, for sure…..
You are far to kind! I wouldn’t call it a miracle…I’m not God, or anywhere close to it! I just like to paint, and if I can get good enough to be quick and real good, then I might have a chance to have a part time job doing something I have loved for years…I mean I took 7 art classes in 4 years of highschool, and always took it if it was an option in gradeschool through Jr. High too. It is just something I have always loved, and will continue to until I fade to the stars. 😀
Poems, I want YOU to be happy with what you get, jsut as I want everyone to be happy with what they get. (I can’t always say that I will be able to give people in the group swaps what they want, as I don’t get to see as much into their minds if they just give a short description. I always love the long descriptive ones for those! It helps.) And, I haven’t done a grey wolf yet…I may have to get it out of here pronto, cuz that is Scott’s favorite too! 😈 XD

    Yeshhh…Very nice Muses! 😀

in reply to: PYO Kitties #820922

Ohhh….I sure do hope so! That would open up a whole laundry list of cat breeds for people to put on kitties!!! But, then it open a can of worms for Melody too…Does she make it a long, short, or medium haired kitty? 😮 (Poor Melody…Bet she is giving the screen the one finger salute as she reads this! 😈 XD )

Much as I love Siamese (!), I’m going to pass on this one. I also prefer the other painted trio. The Siamese just has too much of the same colors. Now if there were 3 different colors/points, I would be tempted!

Si and Am were my favorite part of Lady and the Tramp. 😉

I like this candle lamp…But if I were to buy one painted (Other than stone finish that is!!!), I’d go the extra dollars and get one of the tri-colored. Just because I agree with Lamorte on that point doesn’t mean that they won’t sell out of stores though. I do like it, it’s just that if it had different points…Like one darker (some are much darker than others with markings), one lighter (Some are much more pale), and perhaps a shot of white on one to make it more like the Birman Flap cat (White might be the only color you would have to add, because the darkening and lightening, you would be able to use the same single color?)? Just a bit of change between the 3 cats would really liven it up I think…Sorry Melody if you’re reading this, but I think you spoiled us on all the different paint schemes you are using, and we are liking the multiple colors. 😳 (I don’t have a trio of cats lamp yet, so wherever you settle is what I will end up with anyways! 😉 )

Ugh…I’ve been packing them up for so long myself, I never visit the link, so I didn’t even know it was down! Wish I could help you Pegasi, but I don’t even remember what it said since it’s been so long since I looked at it! 🙄

Ok, good news and bad…I will be starting another wolf for Poems, we got confuzzled about wolf breeds between the two of us, and I need to paint her a grey wolf. So, this guy might be up for grabs eventually. 😉 I will however finish the thread with step by step on him, but I will also be adding the grey wolf to the step by step. I will be reversing the method I used here and doing dark tipping…This will be fun! 😀
So, please hang on while I sort out the technical difficulties!!! XD

😳 😳 😳 I did ask and ask and ask and, well you get the picture 😈 It’s just that my work always seems to turn out to be very monochromatic (and this from an art major 🙄 ) but my dad and mum always encouraged us kids to keep learning and WSC does fabulous work, just like the rest of you! I am also a “visual” learner – I don’t learn easily through written instructions; I have to be shown how to do something… So thankies muchly, WSC! I really appreciate your willingness to put together tutorials for me  😀

    twindragonsmum 😀
You betcha! I’ll keep posting more as I work along. And thanks for the wonderful compliment! 😳 (Even though this guy is rather monochromatic in his own right….As in grayscale. XD) I’ll do a Griffin sometime. Those have a lot more stages. 😈
I’ve been wanting to do one for you for a while, it’s just that I get started alot of times and forget to take pics as I go along…This time, I have had to push myself to remember I want to take pics. I jsut misplaced a few along the way. LOL

I also added another photo in there. ^.^

I can’t tell you how pretty that wolf is! Also, I can’t tell you how many times I see the initials: WIP and cannot figure out what it means! It’s so exciting and I’m not learning a thing except what abbreviations mean lol Oh, and someone should congratulate me for reaching 300+ posts. Yeah!
Hee hee…I’ll help you out…I’ll start putting all the abbreviations I know by whatever they stand for… 😈 XD
Oh yeah, and I PM’d you back again! LOL

Koi, I just want to say, that you haven’t painted anything that hasn’t been beautiful enough to make me do grabby fingers at the screen and drool over…I am simply in love with your talent! 😳

Everyone has grabby hands at Koishii’s stuff 😆
Yeah, but I am beginning to think I may need to keep a roll of papertowels on my desk…Just to mop up the drool… 😕

in reply to: WSC's Step by Step PYO process for TDM!!! (ON HOLD) #820100

Nope…That is just my source of water for mixing and rinsing. LOL If I am using multiple brushes I spray them over a waste can until I rinse most of the paint out. Then I give them another squirt for safe keeping and it keeps them wet enough for me to keep working without getting up to go to the sink…I disdain rinsing jars for my brushes. Also it makes it really easy to add just the right amount of water to my paints. For me atleast. Also it is my arsenal for when my kitties get out of hand. 😉 But I have found that actually dipping the brush into a cup of water and giving some sculpts a wet down before I paint if I am using the technique I did here with the undercoat of the wolf. Thanks for asking Kujacker! I would have forgotten to add that part. See in some places you want a VERY light coat, and it helps to keep the sculpt from soaking up so much of the color you use. Plus, honestly, it isn’t like I am dipping them into water. I always try to give them a day to dry before I do the rest. 😀 And if anyone has other questions feel free to ask me! I’ll do my best to explain my oddball ways of painting.

I would like to offer my services on getting a Birman for you. I owe you some money and in the end that pyo arctic wolf is MINE 😀 I sent you a PM so we can work out a deal – please be sure to get back to me before they are all gone……

Love the unicorns you are doing of the seasons! How cool!! I can’t wait to see the scene on the arctic wolf! 😀

/_ <–can you paint me a river and spruce trees with a polar bear fishing out of the river as an eagle flies overhead inside that triangle?

OMG!!! You are so totally awesome!!! And yes I will put whatever you want in that triangle! *HUGE HUGS* Thank you thank you thank you!!! I will be your painting slave. LOL

Hey girl. Your work is looking beautiful. Any progress on my fire keeper?

I am still working on the knots…It is vry tedious since I am tryign so hard not to goof up and get it on base colors…I am getting there! I Promise! He will hopefully be in the next batch of photos, with all his glory. Scott will be home for the weekend and it was his bday Wednseday, so we are going to busy on the weekend, but Monday I will resume the painting schedule I kept this week. 😀
All in all, there should be a few people hearing from me relatively soon! 🙂 I have a couple I keep getting ahold of, but missing in the cross fire or something…Cat I still need to hear back from you…And, Drag0n, I wondered if you had a chance to pick up an extra griff for that little exchange, or if you changed your mind.

in reply to: We are Siamese if you Pleeze! Siamese Trio of Cats #820058

They are very pretty!!! (But I must admit to liking the other painted Trio better…But I think that is because of the black kitty… 😳 ) If given the chance to get one over time, I would sincerely get one eventually. 🙂

in reply to: Large Birman Flap Cat back in stock! 7/5/10 #819630

I think a few people who really wanted them, and thought there would be no more, paid through the nose to get one. I hoped for a second batch, and had heard there may be more of them so I didn’t go after the ones people put up for tons of money. 😕
