Ya know, interesting thoughts Pegasi, more competition for horses from artists vs dragons …. hmmmm.

Thing is, I’ve seen a lot of very expensive horse sculptures out there (porcelin, resin, bronze, glass, etc) and I can honestly say that the quality and life-likeness (not a word I know, but you get my point) of her statues are just unbelievable. As Windstone collectors, we all definately recognize this.

The ability to create such detail using the gypsum stone can not be compared to.

When I first held the Mother Unicorn I thought to myself, “My gawds, she looks almost real!” I was so impressed that I never considered any other artist to collect. As far as I see it, her tallent is unmatched in the field and I’m sure a lot of others would agree with me. Although she (Melody) is probably to modest to consider such a thing, we all know better.

That’s why we all want HER to increase her Hoofer line to include more colors. No one sculpts like Melody Pena and we know it.

PS Thanks for all the late welcomes, glad to be here and not so silent anymore!

My votes in. Although she already responded with a “probably not” to producing more, I’m hoping enough of us requesting them might sway her into reconsidering.

Just another small batch of 10-15 perhaps? Something to keep the Male from looking so lonely up there? 😀

I know, without a doubt, now that I’m a regular forum lurker, that I would purchase the two I’m missing the moment they hit the store.

It just seems so wrong seeing 24 Male Pegasi in stock and all the rest sold out. Almost makes me think more of him were produced, though I have zero facts to base that on. Again, it could be the price difference as to why there’s so many of him still around. Considering how much some of the dragons cost though, I find that hard to believe and am only offering up thoughts as to why there are still 24 of him around.

Heck, she might think producing more of the others might be a bust for her.

Personally, I think Windstone would be very surprised at how quickly a small batch would sell out. Perhaps it would even boost the sale of the 24 in stock Fathers.

    Just my .02 cents

I’d rather try and talk Ms. Melody into producing another batch!

Especially if the number of family members are scewed. You know, if more pieces of one particular pose was produced moreso than the rest.

Personally I believe that the Mother and Laying baby were sold out faster because of the price being lower when compared to the the Hatching baby and Father. Who knows though.

I wonder if she/they (Windstone) started to keep records of production numbers. That way they’d know if a particular pose in this color scheme was produced moreso than any other.

We can only hope she’ll hear our pleas and reconsider another batch. Considering how many of us “Hoofer lovers” still want them, Windstone would probably have no trouble selling another small batch.

I’m sure that’s not what Windstone intended when they opened this forum, us requesting more items to be produced. But you can’t deny it, this is the perfect venue for our requests/desires to be heard.

Mayhaps with enough of us showing our desire (equating into purchase power) she might reconsider the request. Even if she did reconsider, I’m sure that it’s something she wouldn’t be able to accomodate until after the move, whenever that’s going to occur.

Just a thought …. and I was always taught, it never hurts to ask!

Interesting, the Windstone webstore has only been open a little over a year? That means the black Unicorns were in stores. I wonder why I never see any listed in the ‘old stock’ threads.

Of note, that Bay colored Grand Unicorn I saw when someone posted pictures of their vist to the factory was gorgeous. I can only assume that was Melody’s desk I saw it on. I wonder why she wouldn’t consider doing a family of those. It really turned out so nice.

I know I would like more hoofers to collect.

We’re so lacking when compared to all the dragon molds and colors she offers.

Melody answered this question for me recencly in the “Ask Melody” folder about producing more. I was also curious because the Mother and Laying baby are the two I missed.

Unfortunately, she stated no, she probably won’t be doing anymore of the black pegasi family. *SNAP*

I’m very surprised by how many of the Father are still left to purchase. I doubt they produced more of him than the rest, but who knows.

Hey SkiGod, your family is very close to home. I grew up in the B-ville area and currently live right down the road from Crystal River.

Talk about Windstone lacking. This area has none that I’ve found. Once I finally decided to increase my Windstone herd, I had to resort to using the web.

I can blame my significant other for feeding the bug, though it really didn’t take affect until years down the road because I thought I had to find a dealer in the area to purchaes them and we are severely lacking in that category nowadays.

He bought me the laying Mother unicorn and I was so in love with her quality. I had only seen them in catalogues except for the one my friend had, which was the sitting/rearing male and that was almost 20 years ago. Unfortunately, when I finally thought to increase the herd and called the shop in Spring Hill that he purchased her from, I was sadly informed that they were no longer carrying them.

Some time later, I finally opted to do a web search and loe and behold WINDSTONE itself was offering them online. Uh, whoa! I might have been able to acquire the black unicorns had I known. Doh!

I’ll agree, eBay is tricky. Yes you can find some nice deals there but that whole shipping thing keeps you on pins and needles. Did they use care as if it was them receiving it? You all know what I mean.

To Pegasi, I musta missed her other test paints. I only saw the medicine hat. Did she do them all in the Young Unicorn mold? What colors did she put out?

As for more color lines, yes I’d love her to do others. However, my votes for Melody to finish the Grand Pegasus first and my hope is that she offers them to the public, not as a limited production. I’m sure all us equine lovers would have loved to have obtained the black Grand Unicorn, but since she made them limited, most of us can only drool over their pictures.

I’d really love to add that fella, whenever he gets finished, to my Pegasus family, of which I am more partial to when it comes to the fantasy line. Unicorns are nice, but wings are grand!

    Til the next time …

Awww, how sweet of all you Windstone lovers.

    Little about me?

    Hmmm, I reside in FL.

I’ve ridden horses my whole life and have been graced with the ability to have them always around me.

I currently have three lovely equines.

Two QH mares and one monsterous 17 hand dapple grey TB.

Yes I collect the Hoofers specifically, though I am really liking the Lap dragons. I might acquire a few of those eventually.

So far I have the entire white Unicorn family, zero black Unicorns and almost the entire white Pegasus family. I’m in the process of obtaining my final one to complete the family. I have two of the black Pegasus family. I’m short the mother and laying baby of that herd. Since Melody responded that she probably won’t be producing those anymore, I’ll probably have to keep my fingers crossed while parusing eVilBay.

Eventually I might also acquire the gothic unicorn.

    Oh and I’m a mare. 😛

    Thanks for the warm welcoming.

PS Good to see a forum member ended up with the Young Unicorn medicine hat. How pretty was/is that?! Needless to say, if Melody ever put out another color, any color I suspect, in the hoofers, I’d be all over it this time around.

    in reply to: E-bay "Strike"/ Boycott? #665463

Hi Blackdesertwind. No it was definately not just sent to sellers. I have only purchased on eBay.

It was slightly suspicious simply because of the time of the offer and when it ended, 2/28. Rather quick to use it if you ask me, not even 30 days.

    Take care all.

A very interesting move by eBay.

Just curious, has anyone else received a $10 off an over $50 purchase certificate from eBay which must be used by the 28th of February?

Considering this thread and the date on the coupon, it looks very suspicious to me. This is my first certificate offer from eBay, so figured I’d ask if anyone else received one.

in reply to: This is silly, but what about a Tort? #665982

In response to the mention of a Tort being some kind of legal term by FrozenDragon.

    You’re right.

A Tort is a type of law that is not a misdemeanor or a felony if you were to break it.

Example being something as simple as jaywalking.

In this state, we now incur fines for something as simple as a warning. I knew it was coming because I read about it being changed, but was still mildly surprised when I had to pay a fee (Tort fine) when I went in to show that my auto insurance was indeed current.

Now they earn revenue from tickets and warnings. Personally, I find it very sad that the county drums up revenue this way.

I’d rather be saving my hard earned cash for more Windstones Thank-U verra much.

Chalk one up for the observant equine.

Now to add a fluffy tailed Grand Unicorn to my list along with a black Pegasus mother and laying baby.

    My herd needs increasing.

    Hello forum members,

I’ve read many of your new/old posts, but never posted, til now.

I was curious, so thought I’d ask the maker herself.

After looking at many pictures, I noticed two different tails on the Grand Unicorns. The more recent ones, including the Black Grands of course, appear to be fluffier. The original Grand Unicorn (the one I have) appears to have an opening in it as it links back to the rear leg and the newer one appears to be more full with no opening through the tail.

Might I ask what occured that prompted the change?

Also, if I do manage your ear, will you be reproducing the Black Pegasus Mother and laying baby at all? I’d include your now “out of stock” hatching Pegasus, but it was I made it that way.

    Thanks!

PS My vote on your Grand Pegasus was registered … make many, many, many of them so we can all share the glory!
