yes he is cute–what did the egg look like?
It was a green egg with an orange “spot” on the bottom left.
August 31, 2009 at 12:57 am in reply to: Complete set of "Backyard birds of North America" PICS ADDED #781073I’m considering trading a complete set of Backyard Birds of North America, there are 24 little figures. They are handpainted but I’m not sure the material they are made out of.
I looked around on the internet but I can’t remember where I got these from. They might have been the Danbury Mint. The display case is included. This is definitely retired I can’t even find a picture of it anywhere on the internet. (Not to say that there isn’t one somewhere!)
If interested PM me for pics.EDIT: Ok I added pics and I’m lowering the trade here because of the 2 birds which have some damage. (See pictures.) I didn’t even notice until someone else asked for pics and I saw it while taking the pics. Anyway, I’m willing to give up the whole thing for just one hatching dragon, either empea, red fire, or b/g.
The set is really beautiful regardless of the minor damages. There are so many talented people here I’m sure someone could take these and fix those two birds up like new. I’d also take $30 for it, enough to buy a hatchling or at least pretty close I think. π ( I would prefer a trade though.)
Pic of whole set on wall, where it currently resides.
Pic shows damage to bluebird’s feet.
Pic shows hummingbird missing beak. *sigh* I think I can blame the cats for this.
Example up close- Cardinal
Example up close- Dark-eyed JuncoThe whole set is retired and apparently hard to find because I can’t find it on eBay (yet) or any pics online!! This set is OLD it’s from early 90s I believe.
I like this set alot (I’m a huge bird fan) but again, I want the Windstones more. ^^ I’ve resolved myself to only collecting Windstones now, so this is not about money but adding pieces to my current collection. Please feel free to ask any questions!I just hatched my first dragon egg. Isn’t he just the cutest?!
August 30, 2009 at 11:19 pm in reply to: Windstones' new eBay auctions thread Aug 27 page 64 #756899*cries* That Secret Keeper is already going for well over $1k!! π It seems only super rich people can afford those…..I really do hope someday they can make the hollow castings so maybe they can be a little less price wise.
Even the regular ones at $850 are insane.
(Of course I completely understand WHY they cost that much.)Man some of those griffin chicks are too CUUUUTE! I love the colored circle of cats too! And I really like the new flapcat! WOW!!
Some beautiful test paints, Melody!
Wow this is fantastic work!! I really adore them! And the sketches are very cute! π
The weirdest thing I’ve seen my brother eat is peanut butter and honey sandwiches. I dunno, I love honey but it seems a bit much with PB.
The grossest thing members of my family ate was in my Grandma’s house on my dad’s side…he used to tell me she made kidney stew, and the smell from boiling the kidneys to clean them was horrible.
I’m sorry but I don’t eat organ meats that are designed to clean out toxins…EWWW. This includes, but is not limited to, liver, kidneys, intestines, genitals, etc.
Mmm…..bacon. Deliciously salty, artery-clogging goodness. C’mon bacon goes well in salad (as bits), with eggs in the morning (classic), or yes, even by itself on a roll with some lettuce.
Occasionally, I’ll eat the stuff, but not too often. I like it CRISP though, I refuse to eat limp bacon.
I use boxed pancake mix a lot (I LOVE pancakes!! Especially with fresh blueberries mixed in… *drool*)…..but I’ve known this a while. I have a tendency to check expiration dates on EVERYTHING, not just pancake mix.
I voted for pies!! YUM. Number one favorite pie is Pumpkin, then I tend to go for all the fruit ones like apple or blueberry.
I would have once voted chocolate, and I DO love chocolate…but alas, chocolate does not love me. My gut has become a rather sensitive prude lately.
It’s SO hard to pick a favorite dinner!
But I think for me the first thing that pops into mind is good ol spaghetti and meatballs (the REAL Italian kind) or a nice roast chicken with all the trimmings.

Favorite picture of my cat Bellina!
Second favorite of when she was younger, taken back in 2006.
Gremlin. *sigh* I miss him, I had to give him up. But he’s still in my heart. π₯
LOL One of my favorite pics of Pixie. She’s doin’ the catwalk!
This is Truffles. I had to give her up too, she went to a good home with an amimal lover who had like 4 other bunnies. ^_^ (I always make sure if I have to give up an animal, that they go to a good home.)And last but not least….
This picture is priceless! XD XD The trio of Rattie-tatties….Juniper, Diamond, and Angel. Junie’s like “ARRRG get that flash out of my face!!”August 29, 2009 at 11:15 pm in reply to: Set of Michael Whelan domed dragons EDIT: taking offers #779986bump
These guys didn’t sell.
Is anyone willing simply to buy these?
Name your own price, send me offers. I don’t expect a lot for them, I just want to get rid of them, otherwise I don’t know what to do with them.
I need to clear out older, less desired collections for Windstones.
πWell successfully sold off some of my other Michael Whelan collection pieces and got these!!! π π π
Red Fire mother dragon!
I like this angle the best, she looks like she’s smiling bigtime!
TRIO OF DRAGONS CANDLELAMP! (I’d been wanting this one!)
Such stunning details on these things!
The candlelamp is a lot bigger than I thought it would be! o-oGot both of these in Milford, PA, from a really great older gentleman who owns a store called “The Golden Fish Gallery”.
He has more pieces (just a few) but plans on ordering more! I found him in the dealer list!I love supporting these “mom and pop” shops! The mother was actually the same price as on the online store! π
Nice pic! Yeah the earlier ones are better in my opinion! I’m glad my male is of the earlier variety, I LOVE that purple.
