I’ve never had to do daycare myself, but I will tell you what the Moms I know told me, and I was a Nanny for a few years so I can tell you about that. There are pros and cons of each. Daycare centers generally have more staff and more children (generally) the one that Jen has her baby in has a closed circuit monitoring system that she can see from work, which she loves. I have no idea how many offer that, but thats her favorite part. In home day care can be great or really bad. You REALLY have to check them out individually, tour the house, talk to mom’s whose kids are there, etc. A nanny is another option, again, you have to thouroughly interview and check referances. It all comes doen to what’s most comfortable for you. Some things to ask though are:
    the staff to child ratio
what happens if a child gets sick
what if a staff member is sick
what is the schedule during the day,
things like that! Hope that helps a little! Best of luck!

I wanted to say Thank you again to all of you…I was more frightened and scared and angry and well, everything when I originally posted. Since hearing all of your stories, and talking to some other Moms I know around me, I feel much better. My Dr. is very understanding and is very much behind me, which helps immensely. On another plus side, my hubby’s boss found us a diabetic educator program that our insurance actually covers!!! we were looking at at least $900 out of pocket at first, which was not helping my stress level!!! This program is about an hour’s drive for us, but hubby’s job has been great about everything, he works for a small state office, it’s like a little family. I don’t fit behind my steering wheel anymore (lol, I’m five feet tall and have a HUGE belly!) so we had to make appointments that he could take me too, but overall we are very relieved. It’s all a waiting game now. On a humerous note, it turns out that one of the women Zack works with, who just had a baby last december, went through the same situation. And her baby was born a week early, on his own and weighed 7lbs, 2oz. That was reassuring!! We’ll know more about our little one on tuesday the 25th, when we have another ultrasound, and get an (guess)-timate on his weight. Thank you again for all the support, it means so much!

Wow. I’m allergic to wasps, but honey bees are ok. That was a beautiful hive. It’s a shame that he killed all the bees, especially since there is a huge drop in population. I know in some places that it’s illegal to kill them, but I don’t remember the specifics. Even so, if it was me, I would’ave smoked the hive before I would use an insecticide, bees don’t really want to sting you. But I guess if you don’t know that, I could see where you would automatically go into kill mode. Such a shame though, I know a couple beekeepers that would have loved to relocate it.
