I was thinking, after I’m done with my swap piece, of painting a PYO where people vote on the color and additions (glitter/mica/accents/etc).
Would people be interested in this, and more specifically would people be willing to vote in the polls? I really want to do it but it’s not going to do much good if I only get 1-2 votes per poll.Speaking only for myself, and I know that it doesn’t really make sense, I probably would participate and vote but am not a fan of the idea.
Terrible late night photos of the current piece I’m working on. I think I’ll be able to finish it tomorrow.
Natural colors aren’t my thing so I started small. This was tea stained back in December and just kinda sat around waiting for some inspiration to finally hit me.
Some marks will be added to the chest and the wings will be painted, then a quick varnishing and it will be done!
I do plan to sell this one.

He is very pretty. 🙂 When the kitty griffin first came out Melody said that the right and left wings don’t match. This guy really shows the differences!

I can only imagine how much of a pain it is getting wings to match up properly on such detailed figures.

You ever get a PYO that is just so stubborn you wanna scream in frustration? This one was one of those pieces for me.
Presenting Winter Opal! I had planned to finish this quickly, but the paint fought me so much on it. The plan was to just finish it up in 2 days but in the end it took twice as long.
Its eyes were such a snug fit that I couldn’t get them out after they were placed in the sockets to test them. I guess the ki-rin decided it wanted light blue eyes and didn’t care about its other options!
The fur is coated in mica and has a beautiful pearl effect.
The paint I used on the belly scales came out with a few too many defects (it’s supposed to be a very mirror-y metallic blue), so I added little frosty accents to hide the oops spots.

This is the third time I think where the eyes got stuck in a PYO’s sockets for me.
Looks like I completely forgot to post the PYO commission I did here! This is Mountain Blossom! She has a cherry blossom scene on one side and a close-up of a branch on the other. The main body has an ultra matte varnish on it while anything that is painted has a satin coating for contrast.
Included are some close-ups of the scenery and branch.
And here is my newest finished piece, Deluxe Mint Choco-sune! She’s the first of four mint chocolate ship themed pieces and is part of a larger ice cream flavor themed series. She’s also very proud of getting all that chocolate sauce on herself.
