Another piece in the ice cream series is done! This is Mint Chocolate Sprinkles. I really love how the sprinkles pop against the brown of the fur.

So I was like “I wonder how alcohol inks will work on a PYO. It’s an absorbent material so it should take the ink no problem.” And man did it work better than I expected! Especially against the tea staining!

Thanks! I’ll have to see how the ink takes to varnishing (namely to see if it bleeds), but if it does well I’d love to make more of them.

Another piece is done! This is Sandstone Koi (why are there no koi emojis?)

I painted this one to test out how alcohol inks worked on gypsum, and I think their opaqueness worked great here. This little fella also got his own marble and special eyes! Looks pretty fierce from the side, huh? Too bad he’s not so fierce-looking head-on…

Thank you! I’ve had those eyes for a few years now and I’m glad to have finally been able to use them on a deserving piece.

How many WIPs should someone have at one time? Five? Sure why not!

Guess what the dragon’s holding for a bonus cookie!

Her body has little speckles on it like vanilla ice cream. I added a touch of color to her tail for some personality.

She’ll be up for sale in the classified ads in a bit.

Also here’s the piece I’m currently working on, another koi-themed Oriental Dragon. The red and black are alcohol inks. It needs one more color on the body, then I can move on to the rest of the piece.

Also he’s holding a Children’s Day fish flag.

He’s holding a Children’s Day fish flag in his claws. I made it to hide a big casting error on the arm. I think it came out quite cute and whimsical.

Someone has called dibs on this piece so it’ll be headed out soon-ish if they still want it. If not it’ll be up for sale.

Here’s the front of the piece. Every time I try to edit the post with the version of the photo I want to use it loads up the version I don’t want.:/
