*jumping up and down for joy* My wolf came today!
I felt super guilty ordering him and was just thinking this morning that I’d probably sell him as soon as he gets here. I NEVER get lucky with grab bags-the really amazing ones go to other homes and I never have anything exciting to trade….
but luck finally smiled on me! I got my #1 pick!
She’s amazing, and I absolutely love her! I literally hopped around in circles, clutching her to my chest. My mom brought the box to me and watched me open it, she was laughing at me 😛
Thank you Melody for painting some like this and THANK YOU PAM for not swiping this one for ebay. I have a feeling she would have gone far far beyond $91 and I could have only dreamed of owning her.
geeze, how rude! That seller is only making problems for themselves if it arrives broken-the buyer is going to want ALL of their money back. As a seller, you still have to pay sellers fees on returned items.
Congrats Syn on the frog! I tried for him. 😉 Glad he’s in the family. Thanks for posting pictures. He’s really cool!

edit…wait…he was just added today so that must mean he’s going up for sale in the near future!
I love the Buckskin…I just wish he had blue or teal eyes. But its best he doesn’t for now because I couldn’t bid anyway 🙁 I liked when Windstone offered a choice of eyes for things. I do hope Melody does another Buckskin in the future as pretty as this one.
There have been a few eBay pieces lately that have sold for less than store price on a production piece. Amazing…..I have felt badly for Melody on this. 🙁
I had the same feeling (says the girl who bought her share of test paints for $500+ (including some Barn Swallow ones 😉 ). On the other hand, there are a lot more things available in the store now. It no longer is “test paint or nothing” to get new Windstones, and I think that has affected the market for many of the test paints.
You and Drag0n and I can march side by side, pushing our walkers and exchanging stories of test paints we bought back in the day. 😀
Don’t forget me too! I haz walker! haha I was just admiring my “Sky” test painted eyes shut silver tabby I got direct from Windstone probably around 2009ish and paid $525 for. (She *is* gorgeous though) I won the test paint “Sour Apple” cat wizard for less than store price, and got a patriotic “Spirit” test paint male pegasus for maybe $150 and I think he’s gorgeous! He reminds me of my dear departed grandpa who was an old cowboy. But yeah-I thought the price drop was due to the fact that other painters besides Melody have been primarily painting things for ebay. Not to say that Patricia Smith and Brandi aren’t very talented but IMO, some of her paint schemes were too strange-but then again, I’ve seen those “strange” or “ugly” colors on people’s wish lists so to each their own.
and uh yeah. I got the email from ebay saying that piebald paint Grand unicorn auction had ended…sold for over $1,000. I literally yelled out “HOLY S-” I mean, YAY FOR WINDSTONE but I haven’t seen a non SK piece go for that since the last of Olympia’s Old Warriors (Mineral Springs) popped up on ebay a while back. But Olympia was a whiz with that airbrush-I have several of her pieces and they are flawless and touched in magic gold glitter *says dreamily* she hasn’t been at Windstone for years, so I expected that piece to go for a lot.

WOW they are all beautiful! I too especially love the brindle. It reminds me of the old school “Cuttlefish” unicorns you painted, Melody. And I love the two above the grey with yellow eyes…and the red husky in the front…. and, and and!
The ivory fox and wolf look GREAT too! I like that they are brighter than the fennec. They look like they’ve been playing in the snow!
I doubt I’ll be able to afford one of the GB Wolves but I LOVE the white wolf…and the white fox….and the red fox….ugh I need to sell more stuff lol Maybe I can at least get a white wolf (if I can catch one) I have this bad habit of turning my mobile data off on my phone to save data and battery and not getting emails until I turn it back on at the end of the day…and by then, the store item is usually gone -_- so I’m keeping my phone on!
