Thanks for all the advice! 🙂

Unfortunately, this store never has a sale unless they are discontinuing the line. And, they don’t quantity discount. They are very polite about it when you ask. But, they know they are the only store here that is carrying Windstones in this city.

I guess that depending on where you live, shipping charges might be cost-prohibitive when it comes to buying from a store vs. online. Plus, if you buy from a store, you don’t risk the item getting damaged during shipping, and you have the opportunity to hand-pick the piece. Since the different artists cause slight variations, some people might like some paint jobs better than others. *shrugs*

Unfortunately, the prices I calculated, I’ve included shipping, tax and duty and it is still cheaper than the store. And, this store, if you order a piece in, you have to buy and pay for it upfront.

I might have to keep buying online. I think I’ll get shipping quotes from emerald and wolflodge.

While I would like to support me local brick and mortar store, sometimes it is just too expensive.

I went to my local shop here to check out the new wolf griffins in person. And, while I’m considering buying them, I can’t stand how much they jack the prices up. The female griffin is priced at $228. If I buy it from Windstone direct, it would come to $190. I just can’t justify paying $38.00 more per griffin (male and female). Cause, really, thats a fledgling. 😕

If you do order them, make sure you order the Intense Violet Emerald Peacock and not the Emerald Peacock. 🙂

Not sure if everyone already knows…

The intense emerald pea mother is up in the Windstone store. There are nine available. And there is only one left of the intense emerald peacock male.

I want an odd eyed one. Maybe blue and light yellow or blue and lavendar. But, definitely odd eyed.

You know you are addicted when you’ve put instructions for their placement and care in you will. 🙂

From my understanding, the post office will only pay the insurance claim if it was properly packaged and the fault of the post.

I had an emperor damaged in shipping. The seller only wrapped it in a thin layer of bubble wrap and threw it in the box. It also had way too much open space, so it came broken. The post office would not pay the claim because they argue that damage was due to the seller’s poor packaging and not their fault. And, honestly, they were right.

In your situation, I don’t think the post will pay for it.

Also, keep in mind, it can take a long time for the post to do their investigation – up to 8 weeks for ours. Meanwhile, the 45 days paypal allows you to submit a claim passes by. The risk – if the post does not reimburse you for the item, neither will paypal because the time limit would have lapsed to submit a claim.

I think you should requested an immediate refund from the seller because it is his fault. And, let him deal with the insurance claim if he wants to. If he is so sure the post will cover this mess, he should not mind refunding your money now. After all, he will be the one the post pays the claim to, not you.

I hope this helps, and sorry about your Uni 🙁

Don’t you hate it when the hubby says that! 🙂

Luckily, my husband has lifted my Windstone limit. I begged him to let me buy a White SK when they were selling for $1000. He finally relented. But by the time he did, the SK’s were going for $1800 plus. Now, we can’t buy one cause they are just too expensive.

I’m so dissapointed and I show him the SK on ebay every other day. 😥 He feels really guilty now for denying me my dragon and is letting me buy anything else I want.
