awwww thankies! he was a real victory for me, as he was one of those pieces i had sitting on my desk forever, half finished that i was at a stand still with. i finally just got it in me one weekend that it was his time to get done, i took some risks with what i thought i should do with him, and it worked out. yay! i have a TON more that are half finished that i hope that i can finish with at least part of the same success rate.:) two in particular will be a miracle if i can salvage them. this piece was an encouraging start though and its makes me wicked happy that you guys liked him so, as he is pretty funky. 🙂
thank you GB, really! i need all the help i can get right now! sigh. i just took my dog to the vet today and found out she has luxating patellas in both her knees and a ruptured cruciate ligament in her left knee. it may be $3000 or to just get her partially in shape, and i need to come up with that dough pretty promptly. she is due to get xrays soon, which will tell the extent of the damage and how much surgery will be needed. ( of course the xrays will be $300 to start with, lol) sigh. at least she is a small dog so there is a better chance of recovery.
oh my, what a day. i’m really going to have to sell some stuff to make this happen, as i have to have all my wisdom teeth out and a root canal asap on top of all of this!! oyyyyy!! i need a money tree!! 😥i did post this in the flea market section, but since this was the original thread, this guy is ending tonight on ebay for whoever is interested! 🙂

wow! thats really wierd! i spoke back in the day with one of the shop owners at length about his whole collection there and he was sure he sold the only one they had ages ago. hmmmmmmm. VERY mysterious. i hope they pack whoevers stuff well, cuz i ordered the ruby oriental baby from there and it came shattered in a million pieces. i think they had a different person from usual put that piece in the mail….

shriek! emeralds! omg! i really, really want some emeralds for my collection! i only have a coiled, curled and a broken young. i really hoped to find a fledge and a lap and …bing! the tan griff is gorgeous too! the problem was always having the money when they came up.. it never timed out right…. (zips off to pillage sofa for change) i hope you give somebody there a great home for you! 😀

fyi, the angel heart site hasn’t been updated in YEARS! i bought several things from them in the past and he sold almost all of the items on their site eons ago and now have total new pieces. i asked about the rainbow fledge myself a year and a half ago and he had sold it long before. i’ll keep my ears peeled for you though in my calling arounds…:)

he started out with just the colors-i originally didn’t even have the plan to antique him with the black. once i had all the tone gradation and colors the way i wanted, i felt he still needed something substantial, and started antiquing him. it was terrifying when i first put it on because then i HAD to finish it that way and make it look good! gulp!
i think with light colored pieces i do the wet antique brush on/wipe off technique, and then with dark colored pieces (like the keeper i did at the beginning of the post) i paint the piece all black then dry brush the color onto the high points. thanks for liking him! 😀gosh, thanks guys! i hope so too, but i know just about everyone is tight on funds, including myself! sheesh! my poor little japanese chin i think is going to need surgery for her luxating patella, (her left back knee) so it’s time to try to drum up some dough. i don’t know if anyone on here had to do that for their dog, but i’ve heard it can be around $1000 bucks to do, not including the physical therapy afterwards! 😯 i’ll have to ask for input soon over in the community section..

Awesome Griff! 😀OMG lol! he DOES look like a parade dragon! lol! 😆 we live on the parade route here in bristol, home of the oldest 4th of july parade, and they always have the dancing, snaking, fabric dragon in the asian tribute section….so the parade dragon thing is SO fresh in my mind! omg! now i so want to see the colors of the parade dragon from here to see if i subconsciously chose those for this guy! 😯 lol!
hmmmm, i definitely have the most of the peacocks. i have: emperor, mother, male, young, hatching, hatching emperor, hatching empress, lap, scratcher, old warrior, coiled male, fledgling, sitting spectral, all three orientals, and mouse wizard. ( i think that leaves the kinglet, rising spectral, the three human wizards and the cat wizard) i soooooo want a rising spectral in peacock! i don’t have that sculpt yet in any color! >.< i think i still know of a couple places that may still have him in stock, but its hard to have that much money at once, especially with all the awesome limiteds coming out!
