lol! I’d say mah kitteh is the incompetent hunter. The birds will walk in front of her….on the ground!
Then there was the cockatoo incident…
About 5 cockys were on the ground eating some seed we gave them, and my cat Streaker sees them and thinks “oooooo big birdies to stalk”. So she gets down into her not so low stalking position and tries to sneak up on them. The cockys knew she was there and ignored her until she was a metre away, when one (very casually mind you) turned around and glanced at her. Well, her courage was obviously not in the same place as she was, so she ran inside remarkably quickly for a 15 year old cat! Kitteh was very indignant! 😆
Welcome to the forum!
I feel for you. I’m in Australia, and there are no dealers here at all! *Sigh* Your best bet would be to shop online. The Windstone official store is awesome, and Astral Castle are always wonderful to deal with. (There is ebay as well, but that is another kettle of fish).
Lol, it doesn’t help being outside of the US if you have a Windstone addiction!:D It can get quite expensive, but if you love Windstones as much as I do, it is worth it!
I hope all goes well, and that it isn’t something too serious. Best wishes!
Yay! That changes things! I will still give your emp a good home. He can lord it over my other Windstones now! 😀
Hi Wolfen,
Phoenix pointed out DHL. That could be a bit cheaper, but otherwise I might have to cancel the sale. I cannot afford an extra $367 on top of the emp’s price, as this will end up costing me over AU$700 in total. I could have afforded up to US$250 but being on a low income I cannot absorb the extra cost (the only way I could afford it in the first place was because my gran left me $500 in her will).
I’m so sorry to have caused all this and I really loved the emp, but the shipping is rediculous. Oh well, there goes the dream of me ever getting an emp. 😥
I now see why people don’t bother to send international. Sometimes it really sucks living out here! 😡
I’m so sorry Wolfen.
Me again…
Is the $822 for air mail or shipping? I just looked at sending a similar size/weight package from Australia to the US and it came up with shipping between AU$103 and AU$210.
I also checked FedEx sending b/w Aus and US, and that came up with b/w US$440 and US$550.I dont understand why the costs are so different depending upon the direction of travel. 😡
I don’t mind if it was shipped rather than flown (I understand that there will be a couple of months delay) to keep the price down to something more resonable. 🙂
Hi everyone,
I am said annoying international buyer… 😳 I’m sorry Wolfen, I didn’t know this would be such a pain in the rear. I was expecting anything up to $200 US for shipping, but not $822! I think USPS (or UPS) is pulling a dodgy here. He is bigger then the other Windstones, but not that much! I thought $150 would be more like it. Still, I do thank you for being willing to ship to the end of the world (effectively, that is what Australia is), as not everyone does and that can make it hard to aquire certain pieces. Also, I am aware that you might like to charge for compensation for the hassle. I was estimating that I would be up for around $500 AU. Hopfully it won’t be more than that. Once again Wolfen, I’m sorry for the hassle.
Ahh, the gold emperor, my soon to be baby! He’ll be flying Down Under soon and I can’t wait! Thanks WolfenMachine! 😀
Blackdesertwind, I hope that dear Raven pulls through and you find out what is causing his illness. I think you are coping really well. I know I am a mess when my 15yo kitty is sick as I just love her sooo much. Hang in there, it may be something simple that has been overlooked. I send you and Raven my thoughts and wishes.
He and Sienna are gorgeous kitties. I think I overdosed on cuteness over that last photo!
Hi all! October 27 for me! Scorpio 🙂
I’m so sorry for your loss. She was a very loved doggie! I really feel for you. 😥
Hi everyone,
I just found this even though I have been a member for two weeks (something like that!). Thanks for the welcome everyone. You all are such a nice bunch of people!
I have a feeling this forum isn’t going to help my Windstone obsession! 😀
Tethra
Thank you everyone for replying to my post! And thanks Melody for telling me about Caisha. I will attempt to contact her and see how I go.
I do have insurance on them, but I read a few posts on that topic, and it seems to be too difficult to get a claim through, especially for international orders. I have too many other things going on at the moment to deal with the hassle. And I don’t want to put people off shipping Windstones internationally, as so few people are willing to ship to Aus and I don’t exactly want to cut off supply to my obsession! 😀
I will fix them even if I have to go by the tutorial and do it myself! (That, however is the last choice scenario!) I should be creative enough as a musician…… 😆
I would take my babies to the brilliant repair people over in your corner of the world but shipping to and from the US is hideously expensive, so that is out of the question unfortunately!
Thanks again for all your commiseration! I still love my draggies (or bits of them) too!
Elisha.
Hi Melody,
I’m new to this forum, and to collecting Windstones (I just have to say I love them so much!!!).
I have bought 2 dragons recently off ebay. They were packed correctly according to how you (meaning Windstones) say they should be packed, but still broke in transit to Australia. I want to bring my poor draggies back to health, but I am not an artist so I want to take them to someone that will be able to fix them properly. I was reading some posts and I recall you were saying that there is someone in Australia who is a wiz at fixing Windstones (I would send them to some of the awesome fixer-up-erers in the US if I could afford shipping) 🙁 I was wondering if you could refer me to the person here, or if there was anybody else you know of in Aus that can help me.
The two dragons are
1. A peacock oriental. Has been decapitated and has a broken tail. The tail is broken into bits, but isn’t a difficult job to fix according to what I have read in the forum posts. I could possibly fix him if I couldn’t find help. His head itself, horns and body are fine.
2. This is the biggie. A peacock sitting spactral. Body is fine, but his snout is shattered (he has no nose!!! poor draggie!!!). A large flake has come off his neck, but that is fixable. I have a large chunk of one side of the snout, but the other side I think will have to be re-carved (in other words, facial reconstruction surgery…). Can he be fixed?
Also, is it possible to get the matching paint for the dragons? The oriental is the old darker blue peacock (and the darkish purple and coppery colour for his spine and fur). The spectral is the new bright blue, plus some emerald green, pinky purple (the tip of the snout) and the bright purple.
Thank you!
