My first attempt is going to be something very simple. No mixing custom colors, etc. I don’t want to frustrate myself right off the bat. lol It’s nice that so many of you are willing to share your knowledge. 😀
But, mixing is half the fun! I love mixing paint, just don’t get carried away or you’ll get a really ugly mud colour that you can’t do anything with. In one of my art classes we had to make our own canvas, and we had to make our own paint. Now that’s really fun, but kind of dumb these days when there are so many different colours and brands out there. But, the main thing have fun. 😀
I could just see myself getting 98% finished and running out of my custom paint! 😯 Maybe I’ll become more adventurous if I decide to do a second or third… The only thing I’ve painted in recent years are walls. They came out nice, though. They are sponge painted and were fun to do.
I have this really bad habit of being insanely thrifty with my paints, left over from my student days, so i frequently have a hard time mixing paint in an amount larger than a quarter! LOL I usually manage to keep remaking the same colour over and over, i have good “colour memory” 😉

I love “bee keeper” but that makes, like , no sense at all.
Who WANTS to make sense?! CERTAINLY NOT ME!! 😉
OK, if it doesn’t have to be a Keeper, make him Bee Grabber! Bee Snatcher? :3
I really like the jackdaw Vantid!
Awww about the miscutting again, though! My dad always says “Measure twice, cut once” LOL

And be careful using them! My boyfriend cut off the very tip of his finger with one once, sliding it along a ruler.
Oh I know that, we’ve just always called them X-actos. Like calling a tissue a Kleenex, ya know? 🙂
Yeah they are sharp LOL I took off a piece of my fingernail once, whoops :X
Yes, but brands hate it when their names become commonplace as they can lose some of the basic copyright I believe.
Example: Rollerblades were initially a brand name. The general name was origianlly inline skates. Does anyone ever call it that anymore? Thus they lost some of the copyright protection to the name. Something to do with common usage. (Amazing what I remember from Marketing class in College, huh?)LOL that’s not my fault, we called them X-actos in elementary school! T’was the teacher’s fault! 😉

Hmm…sounds like you could use a mat cutter… 🙂
I HAVE ONE :X (there is no helping me LOL)

I definitely would love to see pictures of that ^_^

i haven’t painted anything other than the gryphon but i can say that there are a few areas on the gryphon that are not easy to get to so it’s not what I would call a beginner painting sculpture 🙂 Still loads of fun though!
CUTE!! 😀

hee hee the first one looks a little like a milk-cow gryphon! ^_^
CONGRATS! that’s soooooo awesome! 😀

Speaking of exacto knives, i’m trying to figure out if it’s a Canadian thing to call them that rather than box cutter LOL I’ve never called them box cutters, didn’t know what those were until i was older heh heh

I think you hold the record for most ordered so far! You must defend your title! LOL
Someone suggested doing some colourful birds next, i’m intrigued at the idea of doing a Green Jay magnet of some sort oooo…
