Dang. Apparently the “nobody is buying PYOs right now” thing is really true. My listings on ebay have about four hours left, and even though I started them all SUPER low compared to what I’d normally charge, not a one of them has a single bid. Yikes.
Wow, that is stunning! I love the colors. And the antiquing. And the cleanness of the stripes. So much work must have gone into it!
So I will have a *little* time to paint stuff over the next few weeks, and I figured I’d ask if anybody wants a commission. I can offer a discount if you want one of the statues I already have on hand. (Keeper dragon, foo mom, foo dad, winged wolf, phoenix, or kittygriff.)
I probably shouldn’t paint any more until I’ve sold the ones I have (or at least some of ’em!) but I figure a commission would be okay, since it’s pre-sold. :3
Nope, it won’t ruin it at all. Well, putting things over a gloss coat can be tricky, as the upper layer may not adhere to the slick, shiny gloss. But you can totally put another coat over the top of a matte or satin finish.
Thank you! I do really like how both foos came out. If I had infinite time I would paint up full family sets of both. :3 Alas time is something I have in very short supply these days.

Kinda a two-part post here. Part one, I haven’t had much luck trying to sell PYOs through the classifieds here, so I’ve decided to list mine on ebay. This is just kinda a “last chance” if anybody would rather just buy one rather than bid. My first post here shows the six I currently have for sale. Offers welcome.
Second, though, I’m trying to decide if I should list the foo pairs together, or in separate listings. What do people think?
Oh man. If I weren’t flat broke! I love their work. And you have some beautiful pieces! That scugog makes me jealous!
I just make my own cards with a ruler, an x-acto, and some heavy cardstock.
I’m so swamped right now I don’t think I can participate this time, but ACEOs are way fun to make.
So, an important update! Unfortunately, I’m going to have to step down as organizer, and as I don’t expect anybody else to volunteer to run this thing (I’ve done these before, they’re a lot of work!) I think I’m going to have to call it cancelled.
I just found out I’m pregnant. This is actually very GOOD news! But it means that next July I’d have a brand new baby, no more than four months old, and I kind of expect to be swamped just trying to keep normal life going, doing *any* work at all, and tending the kid. So… yeah. I’m not going to have time to organize this.
Maybe the following year. Or if anybody else does want to put together an Oregon meetup, I’d be happy to be an assistant and help out, I just can’t really take primary responsibility for something like that as things stand.
