Actually, I’ve had that happen to pictures I take from my digital camera from time to time when I save the file to PC or try to upload to photobucket; it’s a glitch when the file gets uploaded and some of the pixels get ‘skipped over’ in translation. It doesn’t happen often, but it’s a hiccup that isn’t unusual, either. Could be the guy had glitchy equipment.

I am really not sure bout this one–but the paint ‘accents’ just seem off, the dragon has no felt bottom, and although the base has ‘Windstone Editions’, it lacks both the logo and the location (I know I read somehwere that the very first ones had no felt bottom?).

Anyway, it’s a private sale–owner states they’ve had it for 27 years–but might be worth looking into?

(and if I’m wrong, and that’s how they looked way back when, well then, an education for me! 🙂 )

I just emailed john this link….

    This dragon gave me nightmares.

Unfortunately, they managed to sell it anyway. Guess they waited for us to lose interest: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180895846823

…And I just busted my ‘play money’ budget for this paycheck. Hehe. Ah well.

ditto, spent most of mine too but hubby snagged me one, yey!

I did manage to grab a few–did more damage to my cred card than I would normally, but I think it’ll be worth it. Been having a rough time of it lately, and a good friend and co-worker and I had been talking the past few days about ways to cope with the stuff going on. I had mentioned at that point that when I was (much) younger, one of the ways I had handled stress was to paint the old pewter dragon miniatures the RP companies used to sell, so I was seriously thinking about getting a PYO muse to mess with.

…I blame this thread for the Muse, the Ki-rin and the Griffon that will be on their way.

(Wish me artist luck–it’s been over twenty years since I took a brush to a 3D piece…)

This is Foot. She was actually an abandoned stray in the complex where I live. I wound up taking her in one night after about the third night of her showing up and yowling outside (I thought that maybe she’d fallen off a neighbor’s balcony and had every intention of ‘getting her home’. Little did I know until later that ‘home’ was my apartment!). I’ve had her since March ’07. I also think she’d make a great ‘crouching griffin chick’, but even if Melody and her team did commissions, they’d probably kill me for asking (just look at that nice, mottled torbie coat!)!

I got Ula here in July of the same year, so that Foot had a feline buddy. She’s my ‘trouble child’ in that she’s hyper, opinionated, and will start anything with anyone (although she’s just playing. Problem, is she learned how to ‘play’ with a golden retriever as a foster brother until I adopted her…yeah. She’s a little too rough for the other cats’ liking.):

And Lucy…is sort of a rescue in that she actually belonged to an ex of mine that passed away. Since the ex’s brother didn’t want to take responsibility for her, I had to go to animal control and pretty much beg to take her home. Poor girl is old, and sick (has the start of renal failure, kidney disease, heart murmur, collapsed lung. etc), but she still loves everything and everyone and is full of life despite that. I intend to give her the best final years I can manage for her before her health dictates it’s time to let her go. She’s also hard to get pictures of…

Thanks! I’m very slowly collecting my dragon ‘family’, although they will likely wind up covering most of the color spectrum by the time I’m done. Heh.

    Very nice!

The Old Warrior loos very comfortable there on top of the cat condo. 😉

As for your “Peacocks”… The Lap Dragon (the first one pictured) is true peacock, but the male (next picture) is actually emerald-peacock.

Hah, yeah. I live in a small one bedroom apartment, with three live cats, and bookshelves that are already full of books and bear sculptures, so the Windstones wound up where-ever I could put them where they wouldn’t get knocked around…and at least still look a little whimsical. OW actually ‘won’ that perch after I had moved him there to dust under his usual spot. He fit so well, I just left him there.

And thanks–I was pretty sure what color each of the peacock dragons were, but I just wanted to make sure, since they do share the same paints, just in different amounts and areas (I guess you go by the belly if you’re not sure?)

**New member sneaks in, looks around, deposits her collection. Hopes the files aren’t huge…**

When I first became aware of Windstone, it was because my best friend had just bought the Black and Siamese versions of the small flap cats (This was in the early 90s). At the time, I couldn’t afford any of my own, so I just drooled over hers. But this year, I finally got my own pair:

But what actually started my collection off, was the baby ki-rin pictured here. And he was the only one I had for the longest time (Momma is actually a month-old acquisition from Ebay–I was so shuffed to finally find her after 20 years, I immediately paid the ‘buy now’ price. Now all I need is Dad…)

When I couldn’t find the rest of the ki-rin family, I turned to the dragons (some of these are gifts, some I got myself):

And then there are the other cats:

The second silver bengal puffin was actually a shipping mistake–he should have been a ‘Tiger’ (I emailed Windstone already to let them know, but also decided to keep the little guy), so now I’m waiting on a bi-color point tiger to finish out the kitty congo line.

By the way, out of curiosity, does anyone know if my ‘peacock’ dragons are just ‘peacock’, or ’emerald peacock’?

…and the HTML didn’t work. Rats.
AHA, there we go. Go me. Enjoy!
