Very nice and subdued. I’m trying to decide whether the red eyes fit, but I think their drawing attention to the head is good. Usually I notice the wings first.
The eyes are orange, not red 😛 The amber color was picked to match the eyes that my friend wanted with the yellow, so I obliged.
I’ll eventually put a picture of him up in the gallery, but I don’t know if I have time this week to put together a composite pic of him. So, I’ll post a few pics here.
He is a commission (aka late xmas/samhain/bday) present for my friend Holly. He’s clutching a small piece of baltic amber to match his orange eyes. He’s a pale pearlescent yellow with pearl white accents. Something simple for once!
I haven’t really decided on a name (amber dawn or something – I can change the name :P… I may just let my friend name him). He isn’t antiqued because she is so light colored and my friend didn’t say whether she wanted antiquing or not. He was originally more springy-lemon pearl colored, but I was told that was still too dark, so I opted out of antiquing, just to be safe. I’m hoping this is light yellow enough.
I’m trying to finish the other one I have for this weekend (a griffin) so I can deliver both, but I think the griffin will end up being shipped out next week in the mail. There is only so much time in the week and the griff is going to take me about half a week to finish! 😯 Then I can do my swap piece 😀 and my current pyo obligations will be freed up!
Edited: Added paint and eye color to description because I forgot 🙄
Now that is a very pretty spectral! 😯

I have. I also collect Eskimo and Native American soapstone carvings. I had a display case with glass shelves on which my soapstone carvings were displayed. I have no idea how it happened but the top shelf broke and cascaded onto the lower shelf. Voila! Many badly damaged pieces. Some smashed to smithereens. Several years of collecting up in smoke. No more glass shelves for me. And the glass was supposed to have been tempered.
So now it is only plywood shelves with veneers for me. No particle board type shelves either.
Tempered glass can last for a really long time, but it a hairline crack happens (and you’d never know it), it shatters into little tiny pieces. We have tempered glass on the top of some wooden side tables for an extra covering. One shattered while my dad was walking past it. He didn’t even breath on it. Yet we have some that are well over 30 years old. I’m going to be making one eventually, when I have the room, with the help of my dad out of some sort of wood.
I call the Autumn Leaf colored robe! 😈
I will be 😀
Hehe… you should contact your old art teacher and tell her 😈
I can only imagine the orders being given by the finished male to the others. The little ones are like little zerglings (starcraft), only less squishy sounding and with high squeaky minion voices. 😈
As far as I knew, Plan B was a metal folding chair.
*inside joke :P*

Hey, All in the Family was a great show! Granted, I’ve only ever seen reruns, but still. Better than a lot of stuff on tv now!
DCs fun… I’ve only been there for a day and half, and that was for a job shadowing trip in college (Boston, NYC and DC in a week). I need to get down there at some point too to check out the museums, but I have my priorities 😛 Have fun and post pictures when you get back!
w00t! 300 posts for me! I’m just not as vocal as some on here 😉

Besides, since it looks that a lot of people aren’t crazy about the Spectrals (which I don’t understand but so much the better for me 😀 and GB) Maybe I’ll be able to get a special one at a reasonable price!
I’d maybe try for one, if I wasn’t saving for an AL SK (*sigh*), but I’d have to see with the bright purple first. I kinda like the violet-blue with the blue, but that’s just me. I’ll probably be happy with a production spectral 🙂
I’d be afraid my dogs would pee on him 👿
I’m probably going to get them both this year. My mom did sort of mutter in agreement to let them be in her garden/yard. Maybe if I put a little fence or something around them with some plants, they will be ok 🙂 I know my dad would love them hiding in the plants 😀
If she does give you negative feedback, leaving something to the effect of ‘Bidder unwilling to pay for item until 4-6 weeks after auction close’ should be sufficient to back yourself up to others in the future and warn others of this new bidder.
If she doesn’t currently have a rating, she may have assumed (wrongly) that because ebay is not a store and because nothing said it in your auction, that she can bid on something and pay whenever she felt like (or some other reason… I’m not going to name call on the forum :P). It’s also possible she may have tried to back out in a few weeks time as well, in which case you never would have gotten your money.
I am in agreement on the relist or offer the item to the second highest bidder.
Greater Basilisk wrote:Thanks, wolflodge. It would be hard to decide which one I like better. Just get ’em both, siber. 😆
I wish! I won’t get paid again until just after Memorial Day, so funds will be limited. If the price I was told was correct by my friend, the Peacock will be a bit cheaper than the Em. Pea. I only have so much room at the moment as well. I’ve got a few things in mind I’d like to get, so I’ll have to see what they have in store, since I also don’t know how much of the new stuff they’ve gotten in yet. If I really like the Peacock in person, I may just get the peacock for now, since it’s retired and the Em. Pea is new. I may not like the Peacock as much in person too 😛 We’ll see. One week and counting…
Thanks wolflodge! Hmmm… If the store I visit has both, this may be a very hard decision 😕 A friend of mine mentioned they might have a peacock left. *choices choices choices*
Finally! Pictures of the infamous collection!
Looks fabulous! Thanks for sharing! 😀
