Yay! My swap arrived this morning, but work has been hectic the last few weeks, so I only just got to open him after dinner.

Aside from mostly free reign, I had suggested an option of a male foo dog to go with “Liang”, the female foo dog I received from Ciarnet during the last PYO swap. Bodine sent me “Yuanshi” (aka. Jade Emperor), a handsome green toned male foo to court my Liang. It is raining right now and getting late, so I will try to take photos tomorrow of Yuanshi and of the pair together. They compliment each other very nicely. Thank you very much Bodine! 🙂

Been under the weather the last few days and had a family emergency, so couldn’t think of asking my dad to run an errand like the post office for me. However things have settled down thankfully and I’m starting to feel a bit better this evening. Hopefully things will continue to progress in that direction and I will feel well enough tomorrow to make my way to the post office. Sorry for the unexpected delay!

I just received mine a short time ago. A beautiful, rich dark brown bridle with white muzzle, paws, belly, tail tip, and golden eyes. S/he is located in the first photo, third row down from the top, 2nd wolf in on the right.

Nice collection chibishiro! I like the cute little fox plushie seen in the mirror and the Lum pins are a nice touch. 🙂

Oh, yes! Third photo, third row, 2nd in on left. I seem to get mine before almost everyone, so it gives me time to let other little kirins prance in and show themselves! 🙂

My life has been crazy for the last 2 1/2 years, but at my last class in the sequence I’ve been taking is done in the next two weeks and my choir season is done until Fall, so one part of the load is lightening up (thankfully!). Mom is stable (details not meant for a thread about beautiful kirins) and we’re almost cleaned up at the house, but it was a bit of a scare this morning and she’s back in the hospital for a bit of time. I’ll get some photos of this kirin in the next couple of days when I can catch some good lighting and get things posted up!

Mine arrived about 2 hours ago. I’ll try to get photos up in the next couple of days (my class is winding down – Final project was due today, mom rushed to hospital, choir concerts this past weekend… things have been busy!).

Third photo, 2nd kirin in on the left. Silver horn, red eyes. Fur is metallic blue with deep purple metallic highlights and hooves. Scales are orange to reddish in the back. Striping is a really deep metallic green and the spots have gold metallic and some light blue highlights. Very pretty and much more detailed than the group photo shows! I do prefer some of the more subdued kirins, as I know others appreciate the flashier kirins, so this one hasn’t found it’s forever home just yet, but is enjoying a nice stopover. 🙂

                    Hello and welcome!

Astral Castle has a good encyclopedia of Windstone production pieces, which should be a great place to start!
                    http://www.astralcastle.com/windstone/wsframe.htm

There may be some pieces (if they are newer, ebay, paint your own pieces, or limited production/grab bag pieces) that won’t be in that listing, but it will cover most of the production pieces. For any of those, Windstone may be able to assist if looking for information on ebay pieces (which also usually come with a COA). One of the MODs may be able to assist you in that. An ebay piece would likely be signed on the bottom (if not a repaint or paint your own) on the stamp. Some really old pieces don’t have felt pads though, just a stamp (these are really old and some of the very first pieces though).

Good luck and I hope this information helps! If you want to PM me feel free as well.

How do you upload the pics? I’ve been trying to do it to show the three new Windstones I have but have been unable to do so.

You will need to upload your photos to a site like photobucket and then post to the forum and copy the html link they give you.

To post that to the forum to make an image appear, it will need to use html tags .

When I got my Windstone’s from werepanther and Betrluk1, my husband like it so much that he would like to enter the raffles too! Is he able to?

The check out the first post of this thread as it states who can enter raffles. He would also need to be a member of the forum and not a previous raffle winner.

Very lovely koi-rins everyone! They all are so cute!

I received mine first thing yesterday morning. It is the bronze-y/brown and white one with pale green eyes that made an appearance in one of the progress photos. There is much more detail and far more variation in the coloring in person. I’ll post photos this weekend (yesterday I was swamped with a 10 1/5 hour day at work without a break followed by a long rehearsal until late and the sun has been very scant today and is very harsh for proper photos at this hour). I have quite a few past GBs to post this weekend.

Wow! She wasnt even on my radar but shes a beauty Phownix!!!

I know! I can’t find her on the class picture??? I love the spot on her eye and that it’s not so “stencily”?

                              When will yours arrive?

3rd photo, 2nd row from top, 2nd one in on the right.

If working with the Pearl-Ex powders like pastel powders (applying the powder, seal the layer, repeat), some colors will pick up much more readily. The lighter gold on the kirin took twice to three times as many layers to finish than the darker colors I used. It didn’t layer up as quickly or easily as the other colors, so there is a bit of playing around involved when using them in that manner. 🙂 If you’ve used pastel powders, you’re also aware how those get EVERYWHERE. Same with the Pearl-Ex powders. I keep a few damp paper towels handy to clean stray marks and clean fingers. Since the weather was nice and fairly breeze free, I did the kirin’s scales outside (to avoid the unnecessary yelling of the mess I’d make from my mom, even if I could clean it up). The dragon was completed with a different method, so he was done inside.

Yes, you can brush Pearl-Ex straight onto a piece for different effects. I did a pyo kirin a while back where all the scales were done in Pearl-Ex layered on, then sealed, then added a layer, then sealed, etc., then I painted the fur. I’ve done the same on asian ball-joint dolls for a bit of sparkle or a pearly finish. I have also mixed Pearl-Ex paints with paint, a clear medium, or brushed it on top of already applied paint to have different affects on paint. They can be a lot of fun to play with!

Found the Kirin. The scales have no paint on them.

I also did this dragon with paint and applied pearl-Ex to some of the paint and brushed pearl-Ex on top of the paint to mute out the color a bit. He really did turn out quite luminous in dim lighting outside.

Note: Both either have a base coat of white beneath or no base coat at all.
