Is there a stone in her tail curl?
I received the following lovely box of gifts a few days ago from dragons4Life! Books, and scents, and treats (some treats were already consumed by the time the below photo was taken), some activity books, a calendar and day planner, some sparkly things… Quite a few things to open! The holiday season this year has unexpectedly become a bit of a mix of feelings and emotions this year, as I lost my Mom to complications from long term medical issues on Friday, Nov. 13th, the day after we brought her home for hospice after over two weeks in the hospital. My Dad and I have been assisting and caring for her for over the past 3 years – medical complications due to a bad hip replacement, some issues with long term prednisone use, and a highly antibiotic resistant bacterial infection. I live and work from home, which has been a godsend, with this year being very hard, with 9 visits to the hospital since January. To add salt to the wound, I had to put my ~17 year old American Cocker Spaniel, Lucky (my fuzzy pal in my Windstone video for the box opening contest last year), down the same afternoon as his health had also failed. A blessing for both, but still a bit hard for those left behind who will miss them. The house is a little quiet right now. So, this was definitely a lovely bright spot. Thank you again and thank you everyone for your patience with any delayed responses for the swap!
Items are starting to ship out! Remember to post photos here as you receive things (or at least that you received something if you can’t post a photo right away!).
All PMs have been sent! Again, apologies for the delay. If you are shipping internationally, please remember to allow plenty of time (it can take 2-3 weeks to get through customs!). We have 10 participants this year! 😀
Sign-Ups are closed! Unexpected family matters came up today and I am emotionally and physically exhausted. I apologize for the day delay. I will forward names out tomorrow morning.
Sign-ups end tonight!
Just a reminder that sign-ups end on Thursday night!
All emails or PMs have been sent, so everyone should have the name and list for who they are shopping for.
Please remember to let me know when you ship your package. Once you receive your package, please post a photo of your goodies (so we can see all the gift giving goodness!). If you can’t post a photo right away, at least post or message me that you received a package. It helps people not worry about packages being in limbo. 🙂
Happy gifting! 😀
Interested but I don’t think I can participate this year. When I try to look at the links you provided for previous ornament swaps it says “Access denied. You are not authorized to look at this page” 🙁
Not sure. Those are links from several years ago. I copied/pasted the thread content from the 3rd Annual Ornament swap to save having to re-type everything. I’m guessing either those threads were lost in some transition or something changed in the link, so I just removed the threads.
The prior hosts were not able to host this last year or this year, so starting this up!
One week to sign up! If you are willing to ship internationally, please keep in mind giving enough time to ship and get through customs if you get a person overseas!
Just a reminder that sign-ups end on Saturday morning!
I think I have replied to everyone, but if not, please let me know! We currently have 11 participants.
I will be opening up sign-ups for an ornament swap as well (the past people who run them don’t have time to do it this year). I’ll post that thread later tonight. Things are calming down here a bit with Mom moving out of ICU, so I have a bit more room to breath. *breathes*
Please be patient if I do not reply right away as I am dealing with a family matter at the moment and am running between home/work (I work from home!) and the hospital. I leave my computer logged in sometimes and am not always online though the forum shows me as logged in, so don’t let that fool you! I will reply within 2 days, and I have no problem running this. It just may take me an extra day to reply, so if you don’t see a reply in 2 days, then poke me for a reply to make sure your email or PM didn’t get lost/overlooked. 🙂
Thank you in advance!
Yup, I’ve run it the last few years (CrimsonVision hasn’t been on the forum for a few years now). I was pretty sick all last week and just getting back on my feet, so I’m a little late with getting the thread started to run it for this year. I’ll post a thread up tomorrow. I haven’t forgotten, just got knocked down by a horrible sinus cold.
Foxfeather has run the ornament swap in the past, but last year, she didn’t remember until it was too late to start, but I haven’t seen her on in a while. Not sure if she is willing to try and start that up and run it this year or if someone else is willing to run that (I can run it otherwise, just need to dig up the start threads from past ones).
I think I recall Melody saying that none of the gb cougars are snow leopards, but more silver bengal instead?
I’ve had the same frustrations Kim. I missed out on every single gb koi-rin that was auctioned on ebay by Windstone. Almost all (if not all) were purchased by the same bidder and no way to recounter with a higher bid (probably using an auction sniper program that places bids for you). Definitely was more than a little frustrating and much cursing at the computer. Deep pockets are good for Windstone, but man, how frustrating when you can’t even grab one and someone grabs them all! I at least managed to get a koi and a fantasy one I like through the store, so I am very greatful for those and I’m sure if I’m very patient, one or two will pop up later on second-hand. First world problems. 🙂 I get to head on a nice vacation though and a koi-rin wouldn’t have bought me that. 😉
