I always use USPS but have never paid customs, only on ups they are a bunch of money suckers!

Oh ya! I snagged One as well.

Americans don’t pay customs (lucky buggers) but UPS and FedEx use their own border agents, which supposedly speeds up the process, so they charge an additional “brokerage” fee. So it’s not reaaallly customs, it’s a fee to pay their personal border people. It’s like the new ebay global shipping program, dunno if anyone has used this, but they have their own hired customs staff and the customs fees they charge to pay said staff are totally insane (Like $75 plus $35 for shipping on a $300 item). 13% tax is enough, why do we have to pay handling and processing fees on top!? Haha

I got one… after saving the money in my account for weeks! But even still, I was sitting there after like “$400? How likely is it the unicorn you get will actually be worth $400? Uhhh” And then there will be $70-$80 in customs no doubt. Prior to now the most I’ve ever spent on a windstone was $300 and it was one of my favourite GBY unicorns.

But, on the other hand, I am SOOOO excited to see what I got. Really hoping for either a safari appaloosa of some sort, or one of the two pink ones (pink octopus or the lavender and pink leafy one). But there were lots of other very cool detailed ones that I didn’t really pay much attention to that might be surprisingly gorgeous, never know until you open the box!

I’m excited to see what all their names are, after suggesting so many random ones on the stream 😛

              Can’t wait for photos!

Scenceable, what are you located that you pay customs? When my mom got one from the last batch it was over $400 Canadian plus customs I think was about $30 so it did add up but luckily it was one she liked. The one I got I luckily didn’t have to pay customs as they pick boxes randomly and I ended up trading mine for one I loved so they are worth it especially if you can get one you like or trade for a favourite. I love the rainbow ones in this new batch. My favourites are the rainbow leaf ones, rainbow leopard and rainbow butterfly!

I just moved to Toronto. I have found in the past it is random but lately I have been charged for almost every parcel I have received. I have also noticed my parcels are not arriving damaged near as often, so maybe they’re just being more conscientious overall. Customs, when they decide to charge, are 13% plus $10. So for a $360 unicorn it would be about $57. So not quite $70-$80 like I said before! 🙂 Dunno if it’s different in Alberta, I know your sales tax is less than ours though.

Worse to worse I can sell mine or trade it for a normie appaloosa maybe!

on the stream they said they had all been painted, some still needs horns and eyes, all of them still need felt. So it seems like they’ll be out fairly soon.

fledglings in violet flame and aquamarine are definitely on my must have list! I’d squeak for more lavender pearl stuff but I haven’t even managed to buy all the ones that are out currently xD Oriental sun/ moons in production would be sweet as well… *shakes fist at horns*

Ugghh so the photos pam has posted so far of the second batch have me totally drooling (I like a lot of them way more than the ones in this batch, not that these are bad, I just like the newer batch better) and and I have the money for one hoarded in my paypal… I’m just sitting here going through the photo thread itching for the next set of them. Hope they come out sooon!

Didn’t wolfenmachine have this backwards-eye spectral at some point? Or someone else maybe… I remember someone asking about the eye before. It’s probably the same one. I *think* they said the eyes on those are epoxied in, but I don’t remember…

Sorry I’m not much help, I’m sure this has some up before though!

Thanks so much! Volition is one of my favourites that I’ve made, and he took a really long time! He started out as something completely different too. I don’t make nearly enough draft horses 😛

Thanks so much guys! Kimk, I’ve been calling it a griffin but it’s a pretty loose take on a griffin. Sort of a fun weird experiment 😛

Enjoy these moments of “PS must have a loose screw”. As of August, my days will be drastically reduced. There are plenty of other fine production painters ready to take over. Maybe one of them will better suit y’all’s sensibilities.

Everyone has their own opinions and tastes, but I think the work of P.S. is fabulous! I have a gorgeous Sun dragon by you that I treasure. Thank you so much for all the lovelies you have done for us.

I think PS said on facebook she was quitting to properly pursue illustration full time, and that painting as a day job distracted from that. Don’t think it had anything to do with comments on here.

I’m happy that I ended up owning a piece done by PS, I love him! 😀
