I about peed over that gorgeous pintaloosa on ebay right now. Wonder if I can save up in the next 3 days, lol! *runs off*
OMG I love nebula! He’s so pretty! Inferno too, congrats all!
I’m kind of “meh” about the palominos and buckskins, especially the blue eyed ones. Hannah, if I’d have gotten one I would have traded you for sure. But I’m sure someone will trade you, he’s so pretty!
He’s cute! Who bought him?
Never saw the grab bag unicorn on ebay, how much did he sell for? I’m curious! 🙂
Uhm, so I was bored, and had some fun. Poor windstones, they suffer so much abuse at my house. Hurrrr
I think grey with black points and white marks would look nice. Black would be alright too! I like the tan colours ones, and the dun one on ebay is really pretty too. Bay, dun, buckskin, palomino, or anywhere in between would be great.
I like the light blue eyes (like the appaloosa mother a few weeks ago, I think she was #2 or #3) but I don’t like the deep blue or teal eyes. I like the brown eyes on most of them though, I don’t think having blue eyes would make me any more likely to bid.
The palomino pinto sounds cute! And I know someone, I forget who, was really wanting a liver-chestnut-flaxen one. Either way I’m sure you could find someone to trade you for either!
And pictures are a must, have to see the cuteness! 🙂
Wow Wampus, seven appaloosas! And they’re each so different. Gorgeous. Blaze especially, palomino and appy go so well together. I like that eye colour too, better than the deep blue IMO. What a gorgeous group!
I never use ups or fedex just because of the fees. Not even customs, but any package I get they charge $20 in service fees on top of the shipping, it’s so stupid. I got charged $20 once on a package that only cost $20 to begin with, so I ended up paying $45 in fees for something that cost only $20. x__x
The post men I have are quite nice. When I first moved here they always just left notices in my mail box (I live in an apartment 3 flights up) but now they always come right up the stairs and bring them to my door. When I lived at my mom’s house they would leave slips without knocking though…that makes me so upset, it takes 2 seconds to knock and wait, jeez.
I hope they get this sorted out dragon, the package is probably sitting right on top of the pile at ups and they just haven’t found it. *crosses fingers*
Thanks! That is paradise estate. I was going to take a photo of them with some ponywear on, set them up with megan and some bushwoolies and take some photos, but I didn’t. I still might, I figured everyone would just think I was insane. Ahem. Anyway…
LavenderStarfish- she is just gorgeous, she has such a soft friendly face. I like the red jewels too!
Dragon- that sucks about ups, what a pain. I hope they’re able to find the package! 🙁
I got my two surprise unicorns today. They were from the second batch, the one of 14. I also have one that I bought from skeeterdee a week or so before! 🙂 I took a whole ton of photos. I have just started working again, it’s for midnight shift though, so I’ve been really tired. My mailman usually comes right at 8am so even though it was my day off today I “stayed up” to wait for him. Opening them was so thrilling. I’m not an expressive or enthusiastic person at all, but these guys had me jumping up and down.
Ok, onto some cute photos.
So here is Cyprus. He was from that first big batch of 38. He is a lot more detailed in person, the white is a lot more yellowy and the bay spots are shaded and really pretty. He has green crystals. Also the tip of his tail is white, which I thought was adorable.
This is the first unicorn I opened today. He is soo soooooo pretty! Bay blanket appaloosa named “Adagio”, and he has white crystals. I love how melody paints the spots, they are all under the bay part of the coat too. AND his tail has stripes in it! And his ears are white!
This one was the last one I opened. She is a liver chesnut frame overo- get this- with purple eyes! Her name is Wisteria, which is fitting with the lavender crystals and eyes. I was so thrilled, I love wisteria and “Wysteria” is my favourite g3 my little pony as well. Also I’ve been intending to paint a chestnut frame overo for a long time, so they’ve been on my mind. This one is so pretty. The hair is a bit lighter than the coat, her front feet have socks, and she has a spot of pink on her nose too.Now for some other photos…
The two new arrivals sitting in the sun
The three of them together. They match each other quite nicely!
Just wanted to point out how detailed the painting was… look at those feet!
Wisteria’s eyes show a bit better here…
Hanging out
Here’s a group shot. The three grab bag youngs, my good ol’ white young, and my grab bag baby.
Unicorn power, activate! Hehe
And all my equines together on their shelf. All week I was thinking about these guys, which ones I would like, all the possibilities. I wanted to get different ones, I already had a bay, and a chesnut (the baby) so was hoping for a grey and a yellow one (like a palomino) but the two I got are so much better.
I hope to see more photos from others as the new batches come in 🙂
Here’s a commission I finished this week, his name is Belltock. He was a commission from someone on the my little pony arena. She asked that I dull the colours a bit so he would be more realistic. She wanted him with a vanner type body. I hand dyed the hair (my fingers were green for a few days!) and it actually turned out the right colour. The wings were a learning experience, I spent a few weeks deciding how to make them. The bony parts are made from the superflex clay I use for horns and such. Then the webbing is fabric which I glazed, painted, and varnished several times. The wings are removable on pegs and are very light and slightly poseable.
And then, my dad randomly called me up to go to the cottage. It’s weird, I don’t see him much and he just called out of the blue. My grandmother’s cottage is about an hour away from where I live, but my dad lives another 3 hours away in the other direction. Anyway, since I was on the way he picked me up and we hung out there for the day. So belltock got to go on an adventure! I live in an apartment so don’t get much chance to do outdoor photos, so this was nice.
If the photos are cut off, you can right click them and hit “open in new tab” or something similar to see the wider version 🙂
I love this thread… so many awesome photos…
mine still aren’t here, hopefully sometime this week though. I’ve been working midnights and getting home around the time the mailman comes which is good, usually I have to go pick stuff up from the post office. Plus it’s nice to have something to look forward to at work, hehe 🙂
May 9, 2011 at 12:44 pm in reply to: Had to ask . How about a bad pony/ pegasus with bat wings . #844858I’d be happy with any equines! And evil one would be cool. Would go better with the dragons than the happy unicorns. A thestral, kelpie, even a hippocampus type would be awesome too. It’d be neat to see a draft horse! 😀
There was a unicorn with stripes on it, I saw it in the windstone facebook page “ebay things from the past”- the caption says he was painted like a Quagga, by Helen Ross Miskin? I like the stripes on that one, with the brown and white. A black and white striped one could be nice too, but I think the mixture, like with the okapis or the quagga one, are better. But I’d love to see either one 😀
