Welcome to Windstone, Mariem! You got a great deal on your mother dragon – she is beautiful! Her colors are so bright, its like she was painted yesterday. Good catch. As for your next purchase, check the classifieds and eBay. There are often good deals available…
Welcome also to the forum! It’s a pleasure to have you and I hope you will enjoy the different topics as much as I have. We have everything from educational (PYO and Repair) to whimsical (Poads like…, If I were a Windstone I would be… and lastly bug porn!). It can be a blast so jump right in!!No, no! Art is never “unfinished”; it is MINIMALISTIC OR STILL EVOLVING OR STEWING….
fatal, Windstone has been working on the horns. John has been working with finding a method to make the horns themselves. However, the molds required are pocket molds. There is also more than that, which has been discussed in another thread already, regarding such things as the masters used for the horns. It’s not a simple cut and dry solution, but Windstone has been working on it.
haven’t seen any talks of them working on it lately or for awhile to be honest, I just keep hearing the horn amounts getting lower and nothing said of fixes…
Fatalbeauty, when push comes to shove, Windstones is a business. We forum members have made our opinions known (both with words and with $$) so now we just have to trust that John, Melody and the crew make the most of their time and resources to supply us with what we want. I find it hard not to try to second guess them and try to solve their problems for them when they do write about them – boy, am I a schmutz! To think that I know their business better than they do and how to solve their problems!! (They have been very tolerant and kind with me) We need to be patient; Windstone is the most customer responsive company I’ve ever known and I’m sure they are working on the horn shortage with the proper priority.
Sorry if I come off a little pompus; I’m as frustrated as you are by the situation and I hate trying to be reasonable.
Outstanding dragon family!! Is that a production color or a new color? The mother and baby leopard appie pegasi in the first shot are beautiful….oh, heck! Just box up everything in all four photos and ship them directly to me…I’ll Fed Ex the deed to my house…… 😉
I hesitate to say this because it is pure whimsey but years ago, when I was grieving for my deceased dog Simba, someone told me that our dogs, when they die, go to a wonderful place where they spend their days in the warm sunshine, running and playing and ejoying themselves but at night, no matter where they are, they come home to sleep by our beds. Thats how I think of her, sleeping peaceful by my bed every night….
Take heart – Melody says there will be more
I wish there was a feature that told us exactly when they sold out. I like to torture myself by wondering how closely I missed out on them. 🙂
Hey, I’ll give you a whip to flog yourself with: I paid for mine at 18:l6 on the 7th according to PayPal and when I returned to the product information there was only 1 left (there were 3 when I noticed them in the store and snagged mine) How close were you?
I hear you! I checked on a purchase from ebay a week ago Friday at 2:45 pm. Tracking said it was delivered at 3:15 pm! And, of course, when my mail was delivered after 4, there was no package. Luckily it did arrive the next day. I’m pretty sure that they are now delivering packages separately from the regular mail; in the past I have heard a mail cart pull up in front of my house, someone run up my walk and THROW the package onto my porch (I was in the room right next to the front of the house at the time)!!!! There was no damage because it had been packed by a Windstone savey packer but really!!!? The USPS is trying to compete with UPS and Fed Ex for package delivery (we’ve gotten flyers to that effect) so I think the delivery time is posted before the delivery trucks go out. Its something they need to change.
TATTOO #2 YOUNG ORIENTAL BY B.W.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/290954630494?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649WOW. This young oriental got a HUGH jump in bids in the last second. Up until then it was going for #175 – I don’t collect orientals but I thought “Hey. it would be a steal at $180…” Boy, was my bid too low!!! Congratulations, Brandi. I think this one was a hit!!!!
Yes, the link worked. Unbelievable! I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it! Thanks for posting the link
Has anyone seen Red 2? I really enjoyed the first movie and I was wondering if this one was as good as the first.
It’s interesting that you bring up the early Mother Dragon that was not green or brown. On ebay right now there is a green Mother Dragon that has large patches of reddish brown on her flanks and on her wings. She has no felt pad. It looked so strange to me that I went to Astral Castle just to confirm she wasn’t a repaint. Astral Castle has one with less brown patches but still noticable. Check out the one on ebay:
Is this what you were talking about?
Yep, Firework was featured on a livestream and she was greatly admired. Lovely collection!
Yay, more geologists on the list! I have a BS in geology too, and chased it with vertebrate paleontology for grad school. I have a bad (aka good!) habit of looking at buildings and seeing them for the rocks they’re built/decorated with rather than the overall structure. Same thing goes for statues, countertops, etc. etc. 🙂 I’m a fan of pretty much all of the various mineral and geo-based designs Windstone and PYO painters have produced over the years!
Yeah! Another rock nut! It’s nice to know you! I’m not so bad with buildings but when I travel any distance by car I better not be the one driving because I spend all my time checking out road cuts! For years after college whenever I visited out of state, I’d end up hitting all the local geological sites (Lava tubes, volcanoes active/dormant/extinct, water cut hills and desert vistas!) I’ve always wanted to hike down the Grand Canyon just to see the different layers close up (won’t happen; bedbound now)- I have spent hours on the North and South Rims, looking through binoculars…
They are all gorgeous! If I had the $ I’d buy them all and have them in every room of my house! Wonderful use of color and metallics. It must be nice to be so artistic….
