Happy birthday m’dear!
Congrats, Briteblades! One of my favourites so far… I love to see all of these!
Oooh this is kind of my home territory! I have 4 bettas at the moment.
Looks like everything has been covered pretty well so I will try not to repeat anything!
I just wanted to add that Bettas can have some tankmates – Corydora catfish for example!
The cories keep to themselves and the betta doesn’t mind because they mostly keep to their own space, which is the tank’s bottom. The bettas will puff our their chests for a bit at first, but once they understand the cories aren’t aggressive, they just leave eachother alone. π It might vary for the individual fish but I’ve kept a couple tanks with cories and one male Betta together.
They WILL need fairly consistent care, though. Don’t believe the pet store when they say that they’re super easy… Goldfish are easy, bettas not as much! Water quality is super important to be on top of. The smaller the tank, the more often you will need to clean it. They are tropical fish and will succumb to poor tank conditions very easily!

Thanks everyone! I really love the looks of most of the older animals. Maybe there’s hope yet if I stay patient.
I was going to post photos of my OOAK black bobcat but my camera had other ideas. π Maybe in a few days I can take some.
I would absolutely love it if you could! Sounds like I’m not the only one π
My favourites are #1 and #2. π
For #1, I can’t speak for everyone of course, but I’m sure most winners wouldn’t mind waiting for something a little more special/unique.
#2 seems like a good idea to avoid anyone being disappointed with their prize, since they can pick it.
Whatever is decided, thanks for taking our thoughts into consideration!
Which city in Ont. are your from? ….. Are you looking for other pieces?
I’m from New Hamburg, which is a little town south of Kitchener/Waterloo and just about an hour away from Toronto π
I’m currently looking for a Jade Sun dragon to match my Jade Oriental adult! I say “Jade” but I mean the Emerald shade of the Jade listings~ However I’m realizing Sun Dragons are a little harder to come by, so any Sun/Moon would be gladly purchased once I have the funds!
Windstones are sneaky little things and like to hang around in groups. I’m sure your new dragon will have companions soon.
This seems true… I already have another on the way since joining!
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome π I look forward to sticking around!
February 19, 2014 at 4:39 am in reply to: Windstone Appraisals (What is my Windstone worth?) #908972Thanks so much! I am new to collecting these guys but I hope to expand my knowledge as I go along. π
February 17, 2014 at 7:04 pm in reply to: Windstone Appraisals (What is my Windstone worth?) #908942Does anyone know what the adult Oriental dragon in LIGHT Jade is worth?
I initially thought he was Emerald, but the code on his felt pad takes me to “Jade” online.
I’ve checked eBay but all I can find is one current listing which has not sold. All of the sold listings were the Dark Jade so I can’t really go by that!
It’s not in mint condition. There is one tiny paint chip and one paint scratch. Also, I did not notice this at first, but one of his horns is bent a bit!
I really appreciate the help π Thank you!
