Well, today has been just the LAST straw for me, and I am never taking another fursuit commission, probably not EVER again. Plushes yes, fursuits no. I am just sick of the stress, and the demands, and the people who are upset it doesn’t have things they never asked for in the first place, and the complaints, and the passive-aggressive nonsense and the backstabbing of customers who never told ME anything was wrong, and… I am just done. So done. Today somebody was upset because he couldn’t wear is PANTS over his PADDED fursuit! In what reality would anybody expect that to be possible? Oh and also it didn’t fit in his luggage. How the flip is that my problem? Seriously, how?! So I am done. I never want to deal with this crap ever again.
-shakes her head- I’ve heard horror stories about unreasonable demands put towards artists by commissioners. It’s not like you guys can read minds after all. My sympathies. Sometimes it’s best to wash your hands of things that give you too much stress.

That being said, after hearing the description of the fantasy guys…I GOTTA SEE THEM. They sound AWESOME. Hopefully I can avoid missing this GB.

This gal is my latest paint job. She was inspired by the forum discussion on possible color schemes that might look good on silver horned unicorns. This color scheme wasn’t chosen, but it was interesting enough for me to try it out. Her pattern is inspired by gothic style lace. She’s painted in metallic & flat acrylics, Spaz Stix paint and varnished in satin clear coat. Her mane & tail contain several (~30+) fuchsia hot pink swarovski crystals. Eyes are the light yellow supplied by Windstone Editions. I’ve also marked her felt pad clearly with her name and my signature.
If anyone is interested, she will be put up for sale in the Classfied section here. Regardless, I hope you enjoyed looking! 😀

You could try asking Windstone for a replacement set of eyes. They can be quite nice about such requests.

You’re right, all work and no treats does make you surely (sure makes me that way). Every time I decide to get a piece it’s a miracle if I don’t guilt myself out of it! Well, it makes the pieces I do get that much more special. I have to say that I’m also looking forward to the cougar sculpt going into production. It’s hard to be patient.

https://www.redbubble.com/people/prezaurian?ref=artist_title_nameWhine time for me again! 🙁 Last Christmas I made two handmade catnip filled kitty toys out of random shaped bits of scrap quilting cloth (actually really pretty) and called them ‘catnip perogies.’ I gave the large one to my boys (I’ve two little fuzzy men so I figured the larger one would last longer for them) and the little one to my eldest brother Kevin for his new cat Moose. Before he left I made sure that he did not forget it. Well, guess what – I found it today – and the caveat? He told me that Moose ripped it apart months ago (yet my boys’ perogy is intact and still providing feline enjoyment.) So, my brother’s an absolute liar and after having been treated HORRIBLY by the bosses at my last job (who were ALWAYS talking behind people’s backs and lying,) this really bothers me. It also makes me worry that any of the art that I’ve made him in the past (like the original painting of Lake O’Hara in Yoho National Park that I did which was of familiar significance and really heartfelt on my part – I was trying to bring him the Rockies, since he’s stuck in Vancouver,) has either been thrown out or just hidden away in storage. It makes me think that he just thinks of me as his dumb cute sister and this really makes me feel like confronting him and asking where the heck the painting that I did of Lake O’Hara is because if he truly doesn’t want it then he should give it back so that it can be enjoyed by someone (me or my parents) who actually does care about it and the meaning behind it.
And sure, the catnip perogy was a little lopsided, but my cats LOVE theirs and let’s be honest – CATS DO NOT CARE WHAT SHAPE THEIR TOYS ARE! Plus, it was made with love and I think it was way better than a store bought cat toy just because of that. 🙁 Anyway, now my boys will have it and I will have to decide whether or not to (politely) snap at/approach Kev over this. He’s my favourite brother but this really makes me question what he thinks about me and my art. Trying really hard not to cry over this at the moment! 🙁
If you feel this strongly about it, you should probably talk to him about it.
However, I feel I should present another side to this because it’s worth taking the time to stand back and take a moment to catch your breath. It’s possible (I don’t know your brother, so this is only a guess at a possibility) that even though you reminded him, he still forgot to take it with him. Perhaps misplaced it before packing to leave. So he told you that his cat liked it so much that he ripped it up to keep your feelings from being hurt.
I just wanted to say this because it would be awful if you got into a fight with a sibling over a possible misunderstanding. And I know when I have an awful day it colors EVERYTHING else.

I am generally not a fan of the koi patterning, which is why I ask!Ditto! Please do separate batches. If I’m able to catch the GB, I wouldn’t want to chance getting a koi patterned one. I’m not really a fan of them either. The fantasy ones though…very cool sounding. And I’d love a preview of ’em!
